I have two text file, both of them contains Chinese characters, one text file is saved using ANSI encoding, but this file's Chinese characters can not be displayed by htmlviewer on the phone. The Chinese characters in another txt file saved using unicode can be displayed ok by htmlviewer. Do you have any suggestions on this, does Chinese characters using ANSI encoding supported?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst I found the problem, then I found this truly ancient post:

...with no responses. To browse the file system from the top down I suppose I can simply hardcode the root as a single slash, but I would rather "do it right". Can anyone explain why listRoots returns a root named "/XX" where X is a junk char? It's problematic because that file cannot subsequently be queried for further file system exploration.
I have a text file which contains many Chinese characters, and the text file is in the directory res/raw/test.text. I want to read the file but somehow i can't make the Chinese characters display correctly. Here is my code...
What can i do to fix this problem?
Using the gallery ap or video player to select a video to play shows an image from the video in filmstrip mode. Is there a way to see the file name or title of the video instead of a frame?
View 1 Replies View RelatedQuick question. Is there a way to see file names in the Gallery? I'm curious if it is just a setting I haven't found since not but 2 days ago I found out that you CAN get the phone to vibrate for texts it just isn't in the general settings. It shows folder names which makes finding them easy but I want to see the file names too. For example, I have Tin Man in a folder but when I open the folder it is just thumbnails of the 3 parts.
It's just by chance that the computer copied the last file first so they are in order but this not only isn't going to happen often but I would like to store all my movies and music videos in general folders and browse through them without making a new one for every file.
I'm currently making my own icons for apps in MIUI, but I also want to restyle apps downloaded in the market..
Since you have to rename the icons to the name of the files, like:
com.android.email.png and
com.facebook.katana.png
I also need to find the names of the apps I downloaded, so I can make custom icons for them, but I don't know where to find the names. How I can find them so I can make custom icons for them?
I Love my HTC Droid Incredible. I have no problems using the camera or moving images where I want them (Facebook, Flickr, or my PC). As I take photos, they are saved as a file name like "IMAG0029.jpg". They sequentially increment. I am fine with that.
What I would like, is, a way to re-set the embedded number to zero; either when the camera is empty (after a download), or manually.
Is there a file on the tablet that holds the names of all installed apps? One that is readable to copy off so I know what apps i've installed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am on stock motorblur 2.1. Just yesterday the phone started lagging hard. I took the battery out, it wouldn't turn on and would freeze at the M logo. Found out that now it will only boot up if I pop the battery out, put it back in, wait 10 minutes then hit power. My Settings physical key stopped responding period today. and I cant do a hard reset because in order to do that it restarts the phone and it freezes at the M logo. I tried to hit HOME and POWER when turning on but it wont even enter that service menu. It still lags like hell when I get it to even boot. No physical damage or anything. been working for weeks now perfectly.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, for a lark, I downloaded the Google Pinyin IME, which allows me to enter Chinese characters on my Droid X. It works handily. But when I put the characters in an SMS using hand-cent, it never arrives at its destination. It's not that it arrives as gibberish, it just doesn't arrive. My friend, in a trouble shooting attempt, installed it on his Droid Incredible, also using hand-cent. I receive his SMS's with the Chinese characters in them perfectly fine, but he never receives mine. When I use my goggle voice account to send myself an SMS with Chinese characters in it, it arrives as little squares. Is this a Verizon problem, a hand cent problem, or something else entirely.

I am having trouble committing to my svn repository changes made in files in my Android project in folders that have a hyphen in the name.
In particular /res/layout and /res/layout-land.
It *seems* that the svn client doesn't like the hyphen and truncates that segment of the url after the hyphen, thus mapping /layout and / layout-land onto the same url...
Problems include:- - can't check in two files of same name, one each in /layout and / layout-land as "they refer to the same URL" - can't delete/add files from hyphenated folder as they "don't exist"/"already exist" - I suspect a commit from the hyphenated folder is overwriting the file in the non-hyphenated folder in the repository.
I have tried to avoid the problem using the subeclipse plug-in for svn I normally use, from the svn command line (on Windows 7) and with Tortoise SVN, without success.
Does anyone know of a workaround?
Is there anyway to avoid hyphens in these folder names?
I guess my question is, what were A and B?
A?
B?
Cupcake
Donut
Eclair
FROzenYOgurt
Gingerbread
H?
If there's not a definite answer that's cool too. I was just kinda curious.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI get an apk file from somewhere. I tried to install it the emulator successfully. (The emulator is built from the latest code in AOSP which should be cupcake or later). But I can't launch the application from the GUI. It complains "The application xxx has stopped unexpectedly." After checking the logcat, I find the message "access to class not allowed". It seems that that process is not allowed to instantiate the Activity class.
Since I can install the apk successfully, I am curious why I can't launch it as a user.
BTW, I tried two ways to install the app. 1) by copying it to /system/ app and rebuild the system.img 2) by using "adb install". Both getting the same error message.
I tried to extract the AndroidManifest.xml file from the apk. But it seems that the file is scrambled and can't read.
