Android :: Populate View Flipper Child View With List View?
Aug 2, 2010I am trying to set up a ViewFlipper that changes a SlidingDrawers content each time a button is pressed. So far every view I set up worked fine, but now I am trying to create a ListView (including single_choice_mode) within a child view of the ViewFlipper, but my attempt only let to a NullPointerException. As I only discovered ViewFlipper today, I am not yet familiar with it and may not have understood it completely. if someone could give me a hand and help me find out what I have done wrong, that would be great. Here is what I have done:

Jul 30, 2010I have a custom View that I'd like to specify the layout of in an XML file rather than through code, is there anyway I can take an Android XML layout file and use it to flush out my custom View's content? I know it can be done in an Activity via the setContentView method, but there doesn't seem to be a similar method for Views.

I'm theming my app right now and I'd like to have it so that every instance of title gets a specific style applied. Is this possible? I don't want to use a default text style because normal text will have a different size, etc.

Nov 13, 2010Does anyone know of a way to get your 'All Apps' screen to be a fixed multi page view rather than a scrolling list. When it's a scrolling list, it's hard to find what you are looking for quickly, as you first have to work out where you are on the list, then scroll to the required area of the list and find the app (which is always on a different place on the screen as the list moves (ie sometimes it could be at the top, sometimes at the bottom, somtimes in the middle).
On a fixed multi page view, you only need to work out which page you're on, then the app you are looking for will be in a fixed place on it's page (i.e. always top right spot on page 2). I appreciate that this is not a huge time-saving issue, but it would be helpful for me, and sometimes those few extra seconds why trying to find the 'messaging' app can be a pain in the neck. I downloaded some nice wall papers so at the moment am trying out having very clean homescreens, hence using the 'all apps' a lot more.

The closest anyone has gotten to this answer is to show how to bring up the Android Market app and browse for the app you want which shows the single result in a list that the user must still select to get to the screen I want to display.
Here's my existing code that does exactly that:

Aug 17, 2010I want to build my own custom view which should look like the Crysis-GUI.At first I designed a XML-based Layout and made it visible via the setContentView(int resid)-Method. Worked pretty well.But now I wan't to go a step further and draw in my Layout. So I created a new Class, let it extend View and overrode the onDraw()-Method. So far so good.But how can I still use my XML-Layout? I can't do setContentView anymore, so how could the same effect be achieved?

I have the ScrollView so all of the layout always is visible no matter the height of the screen. The problem is that on a very high screen, I still want my imageview to be at the bottom. However, a child of a ScrollView dont seem to have a defined bottom. The View is placed at the top of the layout. How can I solve this problem in a neat way?

I have the following issue: For example I have A.html, and B.html. The content of B.html is larger than A.html, so the page is longer. When WebView load B.html, the ScrollView stretches its size to enable itself scroll for B.html, then if I go back to A.html, ScrollView doesn't resize itself. (The scroll area is exceed the content of A.html) What I want to have, is dynamic change the scroll area of scroll view to fit the webview's content.
