I try a couple of times run SDK manager.exe from android-sdk-windows package, but I can't install Android platform 2.2 and android platform 2.1 version. Does that mean android 2.2 not working with windows vista 64 bit? Did anyone have any experience for android installing on windows vista 64 bit?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to install Android 2.0 platform via Android SDK and AVD Manager. In "Available Packages" I chosen to install "SDK Platform Android 2.0, API 5, revision 1". The Manager started to download data. After download was fininshed I got message "SSL peer shut down incorrectly". In the header there was a message "Nothing was installed". Any idea what is wrong? As far as know my friend also failed to install Platform 2.0 and he had the same messages in the Manager.

View 4 Replies View RelatedCurrently a team of developers is working on Android application and during the development process testers already have to test the current state and report issues.
So far I have simply installed the application by connecting the tester's device on my pc and hit run in the IDE. This way we waste a lot of time if an application has to be installed on multiple devices multiple times daily.
What I would like is to send the testing team the .apk file and let them install and run the application by themselves.
Does anyone know what's the best way to do it?
As an experiment, I would like to use the platform key of my custom built Android platform to sign an arbitrary APK, that is built via the NDK. What is the process to go about doing this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Evo 4G and I'm eventually trying to root it (the right way). I'm trying to install the SDK (for Windows XP) and I'm having an issue. I installed the Sun Java JRE, HTC Sync and I downloaded the SDK. I re-booted my PC, then enabled USB debugging on my Evo and plugged it in to a high speed USB port and then let Windows find the drivers. Now I did a test to make sure the SDK was installed correctly. I went to "android-sdk/tools", then opened a command prompt and entered "adb devices" to make sure that I can see the device's serial number...but I keep getting this...'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file".
I keep getting this error message even after I prompt to the tools directory. I tried re-installing drivers, I tried deleting and re-installing all software and nothing seems to do the trick. I still keep getting "...is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file".
Anybody can send the link how to install Android SDK 1.5 on windows XP. I have install many times according to this link.

How could I do with Window NT adb?
I have windows update turned on. I tried checking this on another USB port, but same doesnt get recognised. I even tried it on different PC, it gets perfectly recognised there.
I checked Samsung Galaxy s2, galaxy ACE, desire C, but none of them could get connected. In the device manager it shows an error "THE DEVICE CANNOT START (code 10)"
I even tried using ANdroid SDK drivers & also the SAmsung drivers on their site. But it coudnt start. Windows update also coudn't find a suitable driver for it.
Is there an app that will let me run window shortcuts/commands from an android device? For example, here is what I'm trying to accomplish:
1. I have 3 monitors but due to limitation in my video card, only 2 monitors can be shown at a given time.
2. I want to easily switch between them using the phone instead of from the PC.
3. If you have windows 7 you know that to switch displays you can press the windows+P keys and then toggle between 4 different display options. I created shortcuts for this since I only need one of the display options, not all 4. So I just have to double click and it'll quickly switch, cool.
4. So now I just need a way to be able to run that shortcut away from my PC.
Install Android on your HTC Windows Mobile phones - Kongtechnology.com. Google, the land of milk and honey, have smashed open the smartphone market when they released their Android platform for free to developers and in one fell swoop, gave a huge stride forward for smartphones everywhere. Traditionally, the smartphone market relied on specific operating systems such as Nokias Symbian, Palms PalmOS and Apple with their iPhone OS. Each company fights to keep their software on their own phones and the result is that a person is locked into using only phones from a particular company if they are familiar with the software. As they say, you cant have your pie and eat it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have implemented a simple Android application that I now would like to test on a real device. I have a Nexus One. In the Android Eclipse plugin, I have downloaded and installed the USB driver (revision 3) package. But when I connect my Nexus One to my PC (running Windows 7) using the USB cable, a message box pops up and shows that "No driver found" for "Nexus One". I have activated USB Debugging on my device. And when I run adb devices on my PC, it just prints List of devices attached and no devices are listed. And if I use Device Manages in Windows, and tries to update the driver for "Nexus One", I can not select a driver in the "driver directory" of Android SDK. How can I install a driver for Nexus One on Windows 7 so I can use it for USB debugging my Android applications on a real device?

I do _not_ need to use PC's internet connection, I only want to access the PC itself. I want to access HTTP/FTP/SSH servers on the PC and its samba (Windows Network) shares via Android CifsManager app.
Is this possible using "reverse tethering" solution which is used to access PC's internet connectivity on Android device and uses some 3rd party app? Is there a simpler solution without using 3rd party apps? Is this possible somehow via adb?
