Is it possible to create multiple widgets in runtime? Application (Activity) should generate in some cases new widget(or edit exist) with new name and label and do some primitive action on click, which should be available in desktop widgets menu.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to clean up my home screens a little and would like to be able to create one on-screen folder or widget that can hold multiple other widgets for quick access and easy launch. Specifically, I have quite a few ColorNote files that I need quick access too, but don't necessarily want clogging up my home screen. I'm hoping there's something out there - either a folder organizer, launcher, or widget that can do this for me.
I currently use GoLauncher and FolderOrganizer on my SG Note.
Change log states "Toggle widgets can be skinned".where is the option? I'm sure it's obvious, but I sure can't find it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android application development and I'm currently experimenting with various UI ideas. In the image below, you can see a vertically scrolling list of horizontally scrolling galleries (and also textviews as you can see). I'm also doing some matrix and camera transformations which I will come to in a minute.
For the background of the list elements, I use green. Blue is the background of the galleries, and red is the background for the images. These are just for my benefit of learning.
The galleries being used are extended classes where I overrode the drawChild method to perform a canvas scale operation in order for the image closest to the center (width) to be larger than the others. The list view going vertically, I overrode the drawChild method and used the camera rotations from lack of depth dimension in the canvas functionality. The items in the list are scaled down and rotated relative to their position's proximity to the center (height).............

It is possible to create an android layout with just a TextView widget and no Layout code (e.g: inearLayout, ScrollLayout), but if I try to add anything else to the XML file all sorts of errors start popping up. Is it possible to create a Layout with just widgets?

I'm trying to use some widgets under com.android.internal.widget from my app. I found some basic apps like Settings use those widgets, so I think there is a way to import those widget into my app, but I can't find.
I'm using Eclipse under Windows XP, meaning that I have sdk only. To do the import thing, do I need a linux environment? I mean whole source code?
If I have the source code, how can I do that?
One more question: There are several activities in basic apps, such as ConfirmLockPatterm in settings. I want to use that activity from my app. I mean start that activity from my app. Can I do that? Since that activity doesn't have any intent filter, I guess I have to explicitly specify the name in Intent, but since I can't import any of those activities, it just doesn't work.
I am writing an widget application for android.
I have a requirement where i need to disable the widget on some intent, i.e., I have the remove the widget from the android home screen and remove from menu options so that the user cannot add the widget further.
I have to enable the widget on some intent, so that, the framework automatically adds the widget to the home screen, by calculating the empty position available on the home screen, and the many option re-appears in order to add the widget further.
Please let me know if this can be possible..

Mine seem to not like being butted up close together, and when I attempt to resize them with LPP, I notice they like to have a lot of blank space around them. I thought maybe a LCD density change would help with this, but it doesn't. If you understand what I'm talking about, any advice? If you're confused, I'll provide a picture later.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI actually was loving Launcher Pro on my Droid, but after I got my DX yesterday and installed it, I got really frustrated with it all last night. It took away the ability to resize the widgets....something I was really excited about. I also couldn't tell that I could any longer set up pictures of my contacts for direct dial or just as a contact and see the options once I touch the picture. So I bought the full blown version and I'm still not convinced. I want to resize my widgets. Since the Moto Blur (or whatever you want to call it) actually is customizable somewhat, and has the phone and contact pictures at the bottom of all screens, plus gives you the option to choose which screen to go to, I decided to go with that for a while. Since I own LP now, I may go back. I just got really frustrated. Anybody know when and if LP will allow the widgets to be re-sized?
