Does anybody know any keyboards apps which are an improvement to the standard X10 keyboard. I used to have a great one, which showed the voice input on every single text input screen, but since i had to restore my phone, Ive lost it.

Just got my fascinate today and have been playing with it all day. So for I really like it, but I cannot for the life of me find out how to switch between swype and the standard keyboard. I tried to search for a resolution but couldn't find anything.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a big smiley face, heart, music symbol person. Coming from my bb in the apps I used most like twitter, there were options for symbols. I cannot find not one keyboard that has hearts or music symbols included. Granted I havent tried any that you have to pay for, in fear that I'll be wasting my money. So could someone PLZ tell me if there is ANY keyboard out there that has hearts and music symbols?

When I'm typing acronyms, for example, it'll make a suggestion when I don't want one and I can't use the space bar to enable me to start typing the next word!)

One thing I haven't been able to find out yet is whether or not you can connect to a fileshare for e.g. pcsharename I know this works on a HD2, but that's a Windows phone. I noticed thewre is a VPN connection option. One would think that you should be able to connect to a network fileshare. I was actually wondering if the Dev version of the G1 would ever be available with different keyboard layouts...
I'm getting old and my brain isn't flexible enough to switch between keyboard layouts anymore... errr... ok, let's say that the low-to-zero availability of the G1 elsewhere on the planet would make a localized version more than appealing... not only for AZERTY-addicted people like me, but more for the day to day usage beyond the dev tool it is.
I know the G1 is coming out in a few days here (at a big price tag), meaning the keypads and hardware exist, but hyper locked, (sim and bootloader), as a futur dev, and continuous geek, I'd love getting an officially "FRogalized" Dev G1 :-)

I continue to search for the optimum virtual keyboard (I have a Droid).
I've used:
Default Keyboard - Not bad but far too basic lacking even some of the simplest features.
Better Keyboard - A good effort but I hate it's secondary key feature. Instead of a brief hold it's a brief hold AND a select.
HTC Touch Keyboard - Very good keyboard but not for the Droid. Low resolution, doesn't size right and lacks any AI to deal with situations like making "dont" show up as "don't".
Swype/Shapewriter - Both were interesting for about a week and then the novelty wore off.
Is there an App that switches keyboards depending on the program in use? I know i can just long press and change it, but i was wondering if there was something out there, that could do this automatically. For some reason with swype when i send emails they either wont send or take hours to send. But swype works fine for text and other functions.

I was pretty stoked about this new big HTC phone but realized it had a keyboard and I immediately got turned off. I dunno about you guys but I NEVER got into the physical keyboards and really prefer the touch version 10 fold.

I did read this post here & was wondering if the info still stands. Figured I'd start a thread here since my question's not Incredible-specific.
I just installed ChompSMS and I have already been using Better Keyboard. I type in vertical mode using t9 and the smiley face has always been there in the bottom right corner (while using default messaging application)
Now I installed ChompSMS and can't get the smiley face back, right now it is an Enter arrow. I have a Droid if that matters.
Is it safe to use 3rd party Keyboards, (such as Big Buttons etc)? I only ask as i installed a keyboard app, went to enable it but it came up with information saying it collects credit card data and password data.. Wasn't comfortable with this so cancelled enabling it and uninstalled.. I need a keyboard as the one on my phone is pretty good but a bit too small. Can anyone shed a little light on this and recommend me a Big keyboard for the Pulse mini

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to diagnose an issue with the hardware keyboard for the Motorola CLIQ (among other phones with a 3-row hardware keyboard), but seeing as my device has a 4-row keyboard, it's impossible to reproduce the problem users are having. Are there any alternate keyboard layouts for the emulator out there, or will I have to roll my own? I've looked at the layout file for the skins, and it seems like a lot of work, so I wanted to make sure I'm not doing a lot of work I don't need to do first.
