I just picked up a Moto Droid X coming from the Droid Eris what a difference. For some reason it takes a very long time for my Win Vista laptop to be able to connect to the SD card. When I pull down the notifications bar and select USB storage, it takes about 5 minutes for the process to complete?I have checked to see if the Droid X has issues on a WinXP machine and it mounts right away. I have downloaded the Moto drivers, but wondering if anyone else has had issues with Win Vista.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone is notifying me that it is low on memory, which I assume to mean a portion of the memory that is independent from the SD card, because that has 1.75GB free. I would like to remove some of this data (it's probably because of my 500 pictures), but the only place I can think of to delete the pictures won't let me access them BECAUSE I have low memory. I've searched through the settings application, but can't find anything for manual handling of data.I'm pretty comfortable with technology, but this is ridiculous. Even my old Samsung picture phone had data managing tools. I hope I'm just not looking in the right place.I've got it plugged in to my PC via USB right now, but the folders aren't named very conveniently. I have no idea what is phone memory?
So I think by mounting the phone via USB, I am ONLY accessing the phone memory. In that case, I need to access the SD card, so I can move some of this stuff over. I'm very confused though, because when I open the drive in My Computer it shows it as being a nearly empty 1.84 GB drive, which the phone memory should not (as far as I know) have, especially if it's full. This leads me to believe that it is in fact the SD card, but AGH.
No idea why, default is set to disk drive, only shows SD card storage on the computer. What am I doing wrong Ok it actually is connecting to both, but the drive for internal memory is saying please insert a disk into (E). I know they are both from the incredible from looking at the 'safely remove hardware' section of the PC and checking the box to display components.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm contemplating making an android version of my iPhone app. One of the attractions is the availability of a micro/miniSD card from Spectec that has an Ant+ radio in it, to communicate with Ant+ protocol devices.
The technical feasibility of this is not my question; but rather its practicality:
This obviously involves taking out the SD memory card in the handset and replacing it with one with no on-board memory, leaving the device with only the builtin 256mb or whatever. this is plenty for my app, but I'm concerned that, aside from annoying the user by having all their music removed, there will be apps on the users device that save data to the SD and will be broken by removing the SD memory.
After upgrading my defy successfuly to cyanogenmod9, I cant access the internal memory of the phone through the computer. when I choose the "portal" option in the usb connections, the computer does the "beep" sound when theres a new hardwear plugged to it, but I can't access it.
How can I transfer files, like music, into folders in the internal storage?
I have download an app while i have not got enough space in my phone memory to install, thought that i will move it to sd card, the app didn't installed in my phone neither got deleted, its stuck in my phone memory now, and i am not finding a way to delete it manually.
Also I would like to know how to access the phone memory folders and files like we access the MC. So, that I can deleted the broken downloaded files. I have already tried with the cleaner apps from market.
I have bought a new memory card, Lexar 8GB, however when I put it in my phone and take out the original 4GB one there is a sign in the top left corner with a pic of the card with a '?' next to it. I'm not very good with technology either. I have downloaded the software online and tried to sync it but nothing seems to work. What do I have to do so I can use my 8GB one?
