how do I install a application from the memory card? does any1 know how to access it. the pfhone only shows the music, photos and videos. I have no clue of how to access it. it's my first phone of this kind.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyways I have just got myself a Sony Ericsson X10 and it's my first Android phone. I have upgraded from a Samsung Omnia running WinMo 6.5 and I must say I'm enjoying Android so much more already As I'm completely new to Android I have a few questions:
1, Installing Apps - The SE X10 only has 256MB internal memory and I have a 8GB memory card inside, I have noticed nearly everything I download installs to the internal memory. With my Omnia you can choose where to install it, is there a way to force it to install to the SD card or move it from the internal memory to the SD card?
2, Charging - For the first time ever I have never have come across a phone that fully turns it's self on from being fully turned off when a charger is plugged in and turned on. With any rechargeable device you need to give them a good charge (16+ hours) to give them a good life. But how can I do that as the battery is being used as its charging?
3, I've seen some stuff about rooting? I kinda understand it but what is the benefit of doing it? Is it risky? Is there any cons?
How can I install new applications at my SD card as I am out of phone space. Mainly I am suffering with my mail box, it's taking almost 275MB. By the way, what's the capacity of the phone memory?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince last 4-5 days, I am seeing that whenever I connect my phone to my laptop (using usb), the phone restart and during this time I will have access to memory card for few seconds (30 sec), after that the card gets unmounted (from PC) and I will see a warning symbol (yellow triangle) on phone's notification bar. So i am unable to copy data to and fro from my phone. All this trouble started since I upgraded to 2.1 Note: I have checked the memory card by putting it to another phone and it works fine.

Recently, after i take picture(s), the screen will prompt me to "Insert Memory Card"... After i off & on and inserted the SD card, take 1 or 2 picture(s), it will prompt me again. Then, watever picture(s) (the latest one) was not saved... I can only view all the old pictures only Next, when i deleted all the pictures in the album, they will still appear again after i off & on the phone... Tried deleted them from the Media Go but still after off & on, they will appear again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a new Sony Ericsson X10 xperia mini pro.. it has a 2GB memory card..but since i want to expand the memory i bought a new 8 GB memory card and inserted it..and when i restart the phone, the phone shows SD card removed. Insert a new one. And definitely the SD card is not corrupted since it works fine on the other phones. If the problem is with my phone then it should not be detecting the 2 GB card but it detects only that card and not the new one.
