I am getting several weird emails a day from users who have clicked on the 'send email to developer' link in the Market app where either the mail has not contents or is just rubbish such as zbxnbcvnxbnb. Are other devs getting similar and is this just users typing rubbish accidentally or is this another problem with the market interface?

I'll tap out an email on my Nexus 7 using the Gmail app, press send, and discover that Gmail sent the email empty, without anything that I had just typed. It's usually a reply and the original email will be quoted, but nothing that I typed will be included.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo when I get an email from a Tmobile number, nothing is displayed. just a bunch of small blue boxes with a "?" in them. Looks fine on the web GMail but not in the GMail client on the phone. No option to show pictures or anything like that. Any ideas? Tried to take a screenshot but the stupid screenshot option only works on the home screen Email shows that there is an attachment but there is no way to open it, any ideas would be great

One woman says it takes her several "days" to successfully do it (I presume that means multiple attempts spread out over time).Can this be on my end? I upgrade my database on each rev - basically I retreive the user data and stick it in the new database that ships with my app. But I think the complaint is about something different. Has anyone else received comments about anything similar? I am concerned people uninstall my app just because of this issue,

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have published an app on Android Market which is limited to Norway. I'm able to find and install it myself from Market, as can several other Norwegian users. A colleague (Android 2.1) and a friend (Android 1.6), on the other hand, cannot find it. They both have phones bought in Norway, with SIM cards from Norwegian providers.
Why are some Norwegian users able to find it, and others not? How does Google determine the location of Market users?
The app works on Android phones with v1.5+.
I have an application published in marketplace and its not updating the active users/number of downloads on the phone display or the developer console. My other application appears to be fine. Anyone else seeing this? Also when the application was uploaded over the weekend there were issues with setting the location targeting. I could not restrict it to US only.

It will cost you but the devs deserve the donate cause it's not an easy task to get a working 3d launcher on droid let alone one that runs good.

I'm on Verizon 3G with 700-900kb DL with the most recent version of the "official" Youtube app and the video will take 30 seconds to load, play for 30 seconds, load for 30 seconds, and play 30 seconds and on and on...
I even pause the video for 2 minutes and when I press play it still only plays like 30-60 seconds and stops to load.
I can play flash videos and they will only load once and play right through to the end but with this app it seems like they are purposely loading the videos in 30 second increments to discourage watching videos on 3G.
Is everyone else having this issue? Is there a better youtube app in the market?
I keep getting emails from people and companies wanting to release my Android app on various alternative markets, and often they want me to send them (or upload on their website) my apk. What are the risks involved with this, how much can someone reverse engineer my app from the apk? How many other developers release their app on places that aren't the android market? Is it a fairly common practice?

When I think about the word "launcher" it isn't clear, does it modify only the home screens or the entire UI of the android operating system

View 49 Replies View RelatedAfter owning every model of the iPhone, I bought an HTC One several weeks ago. There are *so* many things I love about this phone and I don't see going back to an iPhone until such time as Apply starts innovating again.
Anyway, there is one thing that I am having issues with. Maybe it's an HTC thing. Maybe it's a Gmail thing. Maybe it's an Android thing. I was able to email and text good quality videos from my iPhone. When I emailed them, the videos were HD quality; just as they were taken. When I texted them, the phone compressed them before sending but the quality was still excellent after compression. On my HTC One, I always get an error message saying the file size is too big when I attempt to attach a video file. The only way to text videos is to change video quality to MMS (176 x 144) which, as you can imagine, looks like shiznit.
Every time I upload a pic, text, or email from my Droid Razr the pic is stretched horizontally. The pics look fine on my phone, but when I look at them on any other device it's as if the vertical dimensions are reduced by about 25% (or horizontally increased)
I've changed all the normal settings for the default camera and played with them all, nothing works. Only thing I can do is upload pics to my desktop and use an image editor to increase the vertical size about 25%, which is very tedious and frustrating.
Is there anyway to either email a string of text messages or even download them to your computer. I've tried everything aside from getting a holder for the mini SD card.

I tried to email myself a ring tone on my Fascinate and it comes through, gives you the option to preview it, but no option to save it to the sd card. Does anyone know how to do this? I ask because I have friends that swap ring tones around and it is now impossible to do this for me.

I'm looking for something that will automatically shrink photo's when I want to email them. The iPhone does this automatically. I am constantly sending pics of my kids to my parents but at 2.5 MB per pic it take WAY too long to send (if the email client even allows it). I am aware that I can resize each and every photo and THEN send them, but that seems very time consuming and unnecessary. Is there anything that will automatically shrink photo's when I attempt to email multiple pics?

I have already posted on their developer group but based on everything I've seen I don't expect a reply. I have a strange problem. When I added and adview to my app it imported a bunch of comments that all start with /** Eclipse is acting like it is not a comment. Although it isn't erroring out it has now marked anything starting with R.id as not existing. Is this something I can remedy in eclipse or is it time to chuck my dreams of being mega rich off of all the admob revenue I will be receiving? Interestingly i am able to see desired output in the emulator. but when i run the program on a device program shows no output. I tried many different way for example putting the XML file in a raw folder but every time no out put on device. Tried this on two different handset and everywhere get the same error.

The strange thing is that the two ends of the rectangle aren't rounded over the same. The left-size quarter circles are noticeably smaller than the ones on the right.
Anybody experienced anything similar? It's weird enough that I might change my mind about the round corners if I can't do anything about it.... And if I knew how to do a screen capture from my Android, I would.
The rectangles in question are 78 pixels wide and 48 tall, if that helps (and since ykatchou may be onto something).
With the XML layout shown below, I have some views wrapped in a GestureOverlayView. As shown below, my first row is blended with the second row, as-if the first row is transposed right on top of the second. Now when I take the GestureOverlayView out of the code and leave everything else as-is, my table looks fine - the rows are separate and not on top of each other..........
