Apparently I'm unable to activate the one I received because it's "pending activation on another account". And I have to have Google release it from that account to activate it.

Without having to backup the entire data partition, is there a program that will backup 'private' applications. For example, I am using Astro File Manager. When I go to Application Manager/Backup, some programs are listed as private so I can't select them to backup.

Different packaging? Different firmware? Different pattern on the case?
I am assuming no-one is going to send me Froyo OTA so where can I get a copy of Froyo to flash onto my Nexus One? As I use it for testing my apps I want it to be as close as possible to what a user would have and definitley do not want to root the phone.

You will receive either a Verizon Droid by Motorola or a Nexus One. Developers with mailing addresses in the US will receive either a Droid or Nexus one, based on random distribution. I (as well as many others) received an email telling us that Google would like to give us a new Android device for "your contribution to the success of Android's community forums". The email continued asking us to fill out the form by Monday, March 15th, 6pm PST.
I filled out the form as soon as the email hit my inbox (long before the due date) and have still not heard anything back from them (10 days after the due date). Has anyone else heard anything back about this?
This isn't the "Device Seeding Program for Top Android Market Developers" but the "Android Developer Device Seeding Program" that I'm talking about here.
Does anyone know if the Android Developer Device Seeding Program is over? Was it only applications that had 5k+ downloads a 3.5* rating in March? I recently published my first app to the market and in 2 weeks it has reached 5k+ downloads and has a 4* rating.

If I do this is there anyway to keep the authtoken private (e.g. not accessible to other apps). I understand the value of sharing authentication with services such as Gmail, Facebook, etc; however, the data I am trying to sync is sensitive and for security and performance reasons (e.g. limiting calls, etc.) I would like to control access to the associated APIs.

It is not an account that is organized with a bigger company such as google, yahoo, hotmail, etc. When I tried to set up my email account on my Droid ally, it asks me for a lot of detailed information about my server and then said it could not connect. I used to have a Blackberry Tour and it did not require any information other than username and password to set up an email account so I know my school does not have any restrictions on this type of thing.
Does anyone know what I should do? The Verizon store had no idea.
I use a droid x for work and have a droid incredible for my personal use and would like to know if i can use the same google account for both phones and not have any issues with syncing for calendar and contacts and any apps that i have purchased

Anyone know of a good way to store private documents on the phone SD? I'm considering moving some of my documents to my phone SD....this is stuff that could potentially lead to ID theft if I ever lose my phone So I was wondering if there's any way to password protect / encrypt folders on the SD card. If I lost my phone.....I don't want a thief accessing documents in that folder. So it would have to work against him reading files off a card reader on a regular computer as well While we're at it.....between Mobile defense, Lookout and Wave secure, can any of them wipe the SD card remotely?

He gave it to me as a gift and when I tried activating it and putting my number on it, Verizon said that it already has an active business account. I assume this is google's account. I heard that google gives you 30 days free service, but my question is how/can I bypass the 30 days and just put it on my account, or do I have to wait until the 30 days are up to put my own number on it?

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if any1 could help me understand sleep mode and how when it activates, as I'm not 100% convinced when my phone screen is off its in sleep mode.As far as the battery Sticy is concerned, I've been using handcent SMS for well over a month now, as well as disabled notifications in the original SMS program. Although the original program starts in the background when I get an SMS, which I noticed today when sending a test message to myself to make sure that handcent was defualt. It doesn't display a window or any other info.I don't use bluetooth, so I leave that off, as well as GPS unless I"m using google maps or something. Wifi is also a situational thing as well. I leave the Google Sync and mobile data on almost all the time, as I luv these features of the phone. I set disabled the auto backlight and set it to a Low comfortable level. After playing with this, I noticed that the phone made to audible notification noises about 10-20 seconds after the phone shut off, but not always. Is this the phone entering sleep mode? Or is this an app, if it is I get nothing on any screen say it was when I immediately turn screen back on.
