Is there any way to replace the default volume toast (which is displayed when the volume up or down keys are pressed) with a custom- built toast? Couldn't find any method of doing this.

I am running Fresh 3.2 and have used both Toast and King's kernels. Both kernels have "volume boost" and I was wondering if 1) the boost was automatic 2) I need to set it somehow or 3) I need Toast or King's ROMs to access it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like using WidgetLocker and it's been working generally well until I realized it does not replace the default lockscreen. After my 3 minute screen timeout for my Droid 2 to lock up, I have to unlock using WidgetLocker and then the default lockscreen. Is there a way so that I do not see the default lockscreen itself? BTW, I am using a pattern lock.

I have searched this forum (and others) and have not found anything that has worked so far....
Basically, I think the HTC keyboard is a bit too cluttered, and would prefer to use the default android keyboard (introduced in 2.1 I think, includes a voice entry button to the left of spacebar).
In short the default ringtones seem to have a really low volume compared to many other phones imo. Any way to turn it up higher than the normal settings allow you to? Or do I need to install alternate ringtones? If so, what are some good ringtone apps to handle this? I have thought about Foxyring, but after reading some of the comments about it, I'm not too sure it's the best for what I'm trying to do.

I'll manually bump it down two or three notches and it sounds fine, but then it goes right back to maximum volume for the next call. I've been through the menus, and I can't seem to find anywhere to adjust the default in-call volume. Does anyone know how to make that change?

When I play the file, it's played on the device's speaker, or else it plays through headphones if they're plugged in. What I want to do is play the file so that it sounds to the user as if it's at the same volume level as a normal phone call. Is there a way to route playback so that the file is played through the phone's ear piece instead of out of the speaker?

It will cost me $70 to update it, and for that amount of money, I might has well pony up the $30 more and get a brand new unit. But, after looking into the new Google Maps Navigation feature, I'm not sure I will need a stand alone GPS unit, once I take delivery of my D-X.What, if any, features would I lose by using my D-X as my primary nav device vs. a dedicated GPS like a TomTom or Garmin Nuvi? View 27 Replies View RelatedRecently purchased the Virgin Mobile Supreme (Sprint Vital, ZTE N9810). The one thing that is bothering me is that there is only one volume setting for the combined ringtone and notifications. I would like to set these volumes separately.
I tried one volume control tool, but even though it had 'separate' controls changing ringtone changed notification and vice versa.
I noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.

I work in the IT department at a University, though, and we're trying to decide on policy regarding the syncing of mobile phones and the level of support which we offer to customers. Android phones have been a burden because of manufacturer customization. We've had many issues with Galaxy users, motoblur users, and especially Sense users, specifically related to syncing properly with exchange servers.I've only just realized that the manufacturer customizations are not just skins, they replaced entire apps, such as the email app, with what seems to be inferior apps. Vanilla Android, with the stock email app seems to have no trouble syncing to the exchange server. On the other hand, the Sense app, for example, will not. Instead of recommending fixes for each manufacturer, we are recommending the use of Touchdown (which is 20 dollars and it bothers me to have to recommend one of the most expensive apps in the market).I know that the stock app has no issues with Exchange sync of calendars, contacts, and email. Is there any way, on a non-rooted HTC phone for example, to replace the sense app with the stock app?Worst of all is the fact that instead of finding a resolution to the issue, the school is recommending the iPhone, stating that it is "more compatible" with the school's server. I know this isn't true and hate sending business in Apple's direction, so I'd really like to help find a resolution to this.

My friend suggested it to me and I like its setup over the default Messaging app, so I wanted to delete it. But would deleting the default Messaging app also delete all the texts in general? Or would they carry over to the Handcent app and stay there even after deleting the Messaging app. I don't want to lose some of the texts that I already had.

Everything is running fine on my phone so far but with the exception of my clock's alarm volume.
For example:I set the alarm volume to max, I go and set my clock alarm to ring and when the alarm rings the volume is set to very low.When I check back to verify the volume, the volume is set to very low. I am very sure that I have set it to max though.
I have tried to reset my phone to factory settings, it didn't work..
By the above code i am able to get the Toast. Instead of Toast I want the Dialog to be appear after the alarm is set. Also I want to play the sound.

But I noticed recently that suddenly the volume rocker only controls the Media Volume or the In-call volume (if you're in a call), not the Ringer Volume. I don't have anything playing, so not sure why it's like that. I want it to default to ringer and I'll worry about Media when I'm actually in a program that uses it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a listview in my Android Application. Now, when the user presses Next Button other contents will be loaded into the listview. What I want is that if there are no more contents available then there should be a toast displayed indicating that there are no more data available.
Say, for example I have a total of 55 data available and I am displaying only 30 of them in one listview. So, when the user presses Next for the first time next 25 records will be visible. If the user again presses the Next button then a toast should be displayed on top of the last listview that had last 25 records.
Currently I get an error as IndexOutOfBoundException : Invalid location 15 size is 1.
