View 1 RepliesI just got the droid incredible a few days ago and have had be reception since where I only get like one or two bars while in town and barely one at my house. I took it to the verizon store in town and they said this county area has the best 3G coverage you can get and can not figure out why I am getting such low bars. They need a roaming update thing twice on my phone but it did nothing. They said I would have to take it into a service station. I was hoping I could find a fix for it on here before doing so since my phone is rooted. also I notice that the antenna is at the bottom of the phone and when holding it there, the reception drops even more.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI came across this in the comments section from an article about Most users happy with at&t service from cnet (article is from cnn). Article is irrelevant but the person wrote. "I'm an unhappy iPhone owner/user! I had a iPhone 3G and switched over to the iPhone 4; still unhappy with phone reception and 3G is very, very slow. I use WiFi mostly. Too bad other "smart phones" aren't as easy to use for non-computer people." Is this what some people think about android? I first owned the hero and now the EVO and using setting it up and using it was nothing. Is the Iphone that simple ? Now both my phones have the sense ui ,but is this the mind set for some people who want to switch but they think its "not easy for non-computer people"?
View 32 Replies View RelatedIt seem that other people are having Samsung Galaxy S Reception problems. I unfortunately am one of them. In my bed room I used to get full 3g signal on my old phone, I am lucky if I get 3 bars now. At my dad's house he had 5 bars signal, and he usually is worse signal than me. I at that point had 0 bars, and my phone reported no service. Is this a hardware problem or a software one. I am not sure whether to return the phone or keep it, I really like everything about it, and some lag has been sorted in the custom rom at modaco, however I am not sure whether to try it, cause If I need to return it, I'll have voided my warranty.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI at home or at work I usually get between 3-4 bars on 3g with my Droid. With the Incredible I'm going between one bar on 3g to 1x. Anybody else having the same issue? I hope I don't regret getting rid of my Droid.
View 35 Replies View RelatedI got my Evo on Friday, and I'm getting pretty much 0-2 bars no matter where I am in the city. In my office, I get no 4G service. This is odd, because it shows San Antonio to be pretty well covered AND I have a Clear USB modem that I use in my office with my laptop that gets excellent signal. What gives?
View 49 Replies View RelatedI got my awesome EVO today, but am having reception issues. Inside in my office at house (I live about 4 miles form work) I might be lucky to get 1 bar of service, but rarely 3G. As soon as I step outside the bars go to full for a few seconds, then drop back down to 1-2. Which is odd to say the least.
I downloaded real signal, and I'm only getting -105 to -115 db strength.
This was my main concern before picking up the EVO. I've heard lots of horror stories from people here who had Sprint a few years back, but none from lately so I am hoping it's better now.
Can someone with the new slingbox app please tell me how is the reception on 3g compared to the Sprint tv app on 3g. I want to buy the Slingbox Solo to watch NCAA football while at work on Saturdays. I have Directv HD DVR setup. I can also pick up 2 bars on 4g settings in New Jersey when I am outside.

I mean, not just kinda bad, but basically the reception is so bad that the fm radio is useless. Anyone else have this problem? How do you fix?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else experiencing poor Bluetooth reception? Have my wireless bluetooth headset that I love so much. On my Samsung I could walk two rooms away and it would be fine. On my EVO I get constant reception problems. If I step more than 5 feet from the phone its awful. Even walking around with the phone in my pocket its just awful. What the hell is the deal with the EVO and its reception problems?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen i m indoors, if I switch to GSM only mode, the reception is excellent. But when I m on WCDMA mode, then the reception drops alarmingly to near zero. At the same spot, a Nokia E51 shows near full strength signal. If I move towards the door, the reception improves. Does the desire have issues with indoor reception? Or is it just my handset?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got the update today. Not sure if this would make any sort of sense but my reception seems much worse? Its at 1 bar where before it would be at least 3 if not 4 all the time. I am at work so its not location. Anyone else experience this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI did a quick forum search, and didn't turn up much.I'm wondering if anyone has problems dropping calls, or reception issues with their phones.Amid the Antennagate scandal of iphone, I've decided not to upgrade my older gen iphone for the new one, despite (finally) being offered a free case. I've been looking into android, and especially the EVO, and I'm strongly considering switching if they ever come back in stock.According to high lord emperor of the universe, aka steve jobs, all smartphones have antenna problems.

View 2 Replies View Relatedpoor signal reception been fixed yet? I'm interested in buying either a new sim free desire, x10, or a blackberry bold 9700. Leaning more towards the desire, but the only thing holding me back is the poor reception problems people have been experiencing. I'm on orange, and based in the east midlands, UK. Not had bad reception in my area with other phones in the past, so if got the desire and did have problems, it would annoy me to say the least
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince having the HTC desire I have noticed that my Vodafone reception is very poor. I am sure it has something to do with the phone because I never had the problem with Sonyerikson. Now overtime I have no network I have to turn off HTC desire completly and turn it back on to have network, which works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI work in a location where the phone is without a signal about 35%-40% of the time. Naturally, my battery suffers terribly and I often need to charge it sometime during the work day to ensure it makes it until bedtime. Due to firewall/security issues, my phone is my only way to get to my Gmail. I also spend a lot of time on the move, from meeting to meeting, so it's advantageous to leverage my Exchange sync. Typically, I'm able to get emails right away, as the signal drops in and out frequently as opposed to being completely unavailable for long stretches of time.
I guess what I'm looking for is a way to reduce consumption without reducing connectivity. I'm already shutting off GPS. I'm leaving Wifi on for now, as I've got rules on things like Tasker and Setting Profiles that rely on finding specific access points. What I've really been thinking about is having a Tasker setup that turns the Mobile Data Network on and off periodically (say, 1 minute on and 10 minutes off). Does that sound like a viable option? I've heard folks say turning the data network off can cause sync issues, but I'm hoping that turning it back on periodically will solve/prevent all that. Anyone have experience with something like this? Any other ideas for power savings, especially as it may be relevant to a low-signal environment? I also make sure I'm on auto-brightness and am more aggressive about screen timeouts.
Whenever i have my wifi on i lose my mobile reception completely. Also seems to be the same problem when plugging in the charger although signal is not fully lost all the time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had some very poor reception in some areas in the UK where my operator's signal-strength map suggests a very good signal should be received. Sometimes just moving the phone from one desk to another at work allows it to receive a signal!
I discussed this with my phone operator and they are suggesting that a new replacement SIM card may resolve the problem and are sending me a new one. When I bought my HTC Desire a few months ago I just reused the SIM from my old phone and it is a few years old.
My question is this: could an old or faulty SIM card cause wild fluctuations in reception signal strength?
My house is in a good att coverage area but both of my new captivates are getting horrible reception.Tried software updates ota.Is there anything else i can try?
