Does anyone know an app like Power Control that includes the ability to turn off/on mobile network as well?
Or, am I missing something and this cool app already has this feature.

I have been trying to find a way of quickly switching off/on the Mobile Network setting from the home screen. When searching Google there's loads of pages stating that it is an HTC Widget that can be added. I have checked all the widgets on the Desire HD and cannot seem to find it anywhere. I am using an unbranded handset.
The Desire HD manual even states "You can also add widgets that allow you to quickly switch on or off certain settings of your phone, such as Wi-Fi, Mobile Network...".
Does anyone else with an HD handset have this widget ?
I can't send sms's from my x10 and i ask support and they told me to put the servise center manully in wireless control<mobile network> service center number. but i couldn't find that in my phone!!!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI seem to be seeing an issue with the data network access on the EVO. When it happens none of my applications get internet aceess and my mobile network status says "turning on". The only way I've found to fix it is to pull the battery. Any one else seeing this? If so is there a better fix than pulling the battery?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy eris has always has pretty alright battery life, what I would expect out of a smartphone, if unplugged at 9AM it usually was running on its last leg around midnight. I've had it for over 5 months now, I've always had it activated on alltel, I installed the 2.1v3 leak before the official OTA was out and just lately it seems like there something very wrong with my battery life...
If I unplug my phone at 9AM within the past week and occasionaly check and respond to a text message, my battery had been down to almost 30% by NOON... what?..
I have noticed that if I disable Mobile Network (3g/1x data), the thing lasts all day and some... If I turn mobile network ON, I can't see that I have any network traffic or any apps running in the background that are syncing data at all... I've had google account sync mess up on me before and have to reset my google account because it gets stuck in a syncing loop, but its not doing that, already checked. Very weird.
Anyone thing it could be something wrong in my ##PROGRAM#/##778# provisioning menu, maybe something got changed?.. Maybe it could be do to Alltel's AT&T merger that's happening right now, maybe some 3G tower's radios are turned off or something...

I've installed Froyo on a T-Mobile branded Desire. After the update, turning on USB tethering leads to immediate loss of mobile network - it just turns itself off. Same goes for the mobile Wifi hotspot: turn on -> for 2 seconds, it's working -> mobile network drops off. Moving into airplane mode and back brings back the network, but tethering is a goner. With 2.1, USB tethering had worked. I'm on Base, a brand of e-plus. I've talked to their customer services, they say Base absolutely supports tethering.
It would be very useful to add NFC feature to Android. There are a lot of projects in France around NFC integrated in mobile phones.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got my EVO a couple days ago so I am still learning. Where do I download widgets?? Also it has a widget to turn on and off 4g, wifi, gps. Is there any way that I can add a toggle for turning on off mobile network and cdma vs. gsm? I have a horrible signal at my office so the phone constantly searches for a signal and kills my battery. I don't want to turn on airplane mode because I do still get calls and need my phone to at least kind of work.

Searched all over the forums and internet for an answer but came up blank.I downloaded an app called power control and installed it. It screwed up my contact list so I wanted to uninstall it. Not just remove it from my desktop, but full uninstall is what I'm after.Did a search for it in the android market and could not find it anywhere again to uninstall it that way. Tried using Astro File Manager to uninstall but does not show up there.The only place it shows up on my phone is in the bottom menu bar ( menu, phone, + ) I hit + -----> widgets ------> power control. Anybody have an ideas on how to uninstall this thing ?

I have looked into various methods of controlling my phone via the PC.
Webkey and VNC both use network connections to access my phone, and androidscreencast did not work for me. (I have a rooted droid 4, but it did not give me any mouse or keyboard functionality like it was supposed to.
The "automatic" brightness setting sucks. It doesn't detect high light situations, like being outdoors. To get the proper brightness you need to use the power control widget to set the brightness up to see it in sunlight. Not a big deal, but after using the widget you either have to manually reset it to automatic in the settings, turn the brightness off or on high. Its just kind of annoying. When your in sunlight without the brightness up to the highest level I can see nothing on the phone. Literally the screen appears to be off. Is this just my phone, or does the incredible really not sense high light situations.

As soon as I go into the wifi settings and see the list of available connections it finds my router and connects right away. Anybody else having any sort of similar issues? It's a little annoying to have to turn on wifi and then also have to go into the settings menu to get it to connect.

I have to go through Settings/Wireless & networks/ then tap Wifi Settings, and it will automatically connect. I don't have to choose a network, I just tap on Wifi Settings and then it connects.
