Unlike the viewing of the same photos through the Albums widget on the phone, which seems to fail to download them for viewing through the mobile data connection, even at H connection speed.....the download just seems to stall?
Does anyone know an app like Power Control that includes the ability to turn off/on mobile network as well?
Or, am I missing something and this cool app already has this feature.
It's hard to believe that Android would be lacking the following features from its own creator:
-remote wipe
-backup
-file/photos sync
-lost phone tracking
-"itunes" sync
Just wondering if Google mentioned they would be making one.
Install Android on your HTC Windows Mobile phones - Kongtechnology.com. Google, the land of milk and honey, have smashed open the smartphone market when they released their Android platform for free to developers and in one fell swoop, gave a huge stride forward for smartphones everywhere. Traditionally, the smartphone market relied on specific operating systems such as Nokias Symbian, Palms PalmOS and Apple with their iPhone OS. Each company fights to keep their software on their own phones and the result is that a person is locked into using only phones from a particular company if they are familiar with the software. As they say, you cant have your pie and eat it.

Is there any way to use a unified solution for all the different mobile platform ? If anyone already had to go through this, help would be greatly appreciated.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am interested in implementing an Augmented Reality application for mobile phones using Adobe Flash Platform.
Can you please let me know if any sources is available for me to find out how to start? I'm not sure what software I need to use to implement AR but as I can understand I need: ARToolKit Marker Generator to create the marker matching with the 3D image, then FLARToolKit to analyze the image from the marker and Papervision3D to create an object that shares that same space with the marker. Can you please let me know if what I wrote is correct and advise me how to start the implementation on Adobe Flash platform?

Is this a good deal? I know that T-Mobile has recently changed its contract to say its 3GB FUP is only for its direct customers but if I got this contract and phoned them up and said I have an android what are the chances I could talk them into putting me on the 3GB FUP instead of the 1GB? and finally if the above is a no then is there any speed difference between those on the 1GB UP and those on the 3GB FUP? If you can help me with these questions then thank you very very much, this is my first contract and I don't want to mess it up.

I tried loading a KML file from the web, but it seems neither Maps, nor Sky Map handle it on Android. Is there some way that I can pass coordinate data to Sky Map? Does it have any registered Intent-filters?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've installed the android SDK, Eclipse and the ADT plugin (got all the latest versions from the official websites: eclipse 3.4.2 from which I installed the ADT plugin and SDK 1.1_r1 from google).
I've set the SDK in eclipse and also added it to the PATH environment variable (I'm running Win XP SP2) and have entered the necessary Run configurations settings in eclipse.
Yet trying to open each of the sample projects and create a Hello Android project of my own consistently gets the following error from eclipse: R cannot be resolved.
I still don't know much about the framework but have read that the R.java is suppose to be generated automatically. Eclipse suggests adding an import to android.R, but the tutorial I'm reading seems to have no such import and even if I add the import the problem persist as the 'main' class simply isn't there.
I've changed the relevant code so to omit the use of the R class from this:
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main);
to this:
TextView tv = new TextView(this); tv.setText("Hello, Android"); setContentView(tv);
While this did make the aforementioned error go away I still couldn't run the project since eclipse doesn't seem to work well with the ADT plugin (that's my guess at least) and the doesn't build the project.
When I Run it I get the following output on the console:
[2009-03-08 09:19:09 - Hello Android] ---------------------- [2009-03-08 09:19:09 - Hello Android] Android Launch! [2009-03-08 09:19:09 - Hello Android] adb is running normally. [2009-03-08 09:19:09 - Hello Android] Could not find Hello Android.apk!
The emulatore doesn't start of course. It seems to me like there's a problem with the ADT and Eclipse so that the projects aren't created properly (that R.java file is suppose to be created automatically according to what I've read).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to integrate VP8 video codec into PV opencore FW in Froyo & test at PV test application level. I have done the following steps, 1. Made a new folder for vp8 @ external/opencore/codecs_v2/omx/ omx_vp8. 2. Made appropriate modifications in the omx_baseclass, omx_common etc. 3. Modified the PV test app (external/opencore/codecs_v2/omx/ omx_testapp) for testing VP8. 4. included the VP8 source code to froyo. 5. Included new oscluuid for VP8 With these modifications, the build is fine. The shared libraries and binaries are creating properly. Also OMX-MasterInit is passing. But the application fails at OMX_GetHandle(). *pHandle is coming as zero. I am using the PV OMX core. I am just adding a new codec which is not supported by PV Opencore and test at PV test_app level.Can you please answer my below queries: 1. Do we need to change the pvplayer.cfg file? Bcoz i am using the PC omx_core itself. 2. Any other changes needs to be done for integrating a new component into Opencore? Please provide you valuable inputs. Let me know if need any additional informations.

We put this into our How Am I Feeling? app but very few people seem to be using it - at least that I can see anyway as I can only track on Twitter.
What makes you want to announce what you did? Is it entirely an afterthought or just something you try once or twice and then forget about?
