Is it possible to receive SMS message on appWidget?
I saw android sample source(API Demos).
In API Demos, ExampleAppWidgetProvider class extends AppWidgetProvider, not Activity.
So, I guess it is impossible to regist SMS Receiver like this code...
My goal is to receive SMS message on my custom appWidget.

For starters, the phone is amazing. I just have a few questions: Is it possible to set a ringtone to go off when you receive a text message? MY old VZW phone allowed a ringtone notification. I have yet to find a way to do this; anyone know how?

I can use an handler, but it only gets the runnable object. How can I pass the data to the runnable called by the handler? I get the normal 1 and now a another 1 saying new message(s) which will clear if i click. Also my text message ringtone plays twice also. The only thing that I've found that I dislike about this phone is the way it alerts you about new text messages. Is there a way to make your phones screen light up when you receive a text message? Also is there a way to set a reminder like every few minutes that you have a text message? Say if you receive a text message while you're away from the phone then two minutes later the phone vibrates or sounds to remind you that you have a new text.

i've changed three android tablets so far, rooted my phone, installed and tweaked dozen of roms on it,
on both my tablet and phone i have facebook and gmail applications. they are basically the same .apks since i have a backup of them on a sd card and if i format one device, i often use restire the apps from the sd card.
and you know how you get an instant notification on your phone if you receive a fb message or an e-mail? that doesn't happen on my tablet. it seems that a couple of minutes after i turn off the display on my tablet, it drops the wifi connection (a power save thing i suppose).
is there any way to ensure a constant wifi connection on my tablet so that i receive email/fb notifications in real time and just not after i turn the display on?
Is there any way to have the screen ON, but NOT receive this message? For those of us who use the Epic in a dock as a bedside alarm clock at night, this message is a major PITA. I know it can be suppressed with the screen off, but I need to suppress it with the screen ON. When I roll over at 3AM, I need to know what time it is, not that my battery is fully charged!!
