View 2 RepliesHow can I check if headphones are currently plugged in. I don't want a broadcastreceiver which informs me when they have been connected to the device. I need something like:
if(/*headphone is connected*/)...
Would love a good music app for my captivate which bypasses everything and immediately goes to the last song played and begins from there. Bypasses the unlock screen and any "last apps" I was using. A true "plug and play". Is there such an app? Right now I have to plug in the phones, unlock the phone, back out of my messenger or email program, select the music app, select the album or artist and then the songs. Its all a bit tiring if I do it somewhat frequently like in and out of the car.

All audio function works when I plug in the headphones though (dialer, video, etc) Is there anything I can do to fix it? I've tried resetting, plugging and unplugging headphones, *#0*# (it says connection problems or invalid mmi).
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy hero use to be able to use regular headphones and use the mic from the phone but my moment does not. I lost my headset and plugged in these expensive headphones with no mic and the mic on the moment does not activate. It thinks that I'm using a full headset with a headphone and mic on the hero when I plugged in a headset it showed up an icon with headphones and mic, but when I plugged in regular headphones, it didn't show the mic and allowed me to use the hero's mic. Is this a Sense UI thing? Will it be fixed with the 2.1 update? Does the nexus one use the phones mic when u plug in regular headphones?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have my HTC hero and when I plug in my headphones and the phone rings or I get a text notification, both the headphones and external speaker ring. Is there a way to get the ring/notification only through the headphones? I really don't want to have to turn my phone on silent mode and just have a pause when the phone rings while I'm listening to music. so far i have been unable to find a setting or app for this issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my headphones plugged in (yes they're plugged all the way in), I get an email/text/gtalk notification. The notification sound comes through both my headphones and the rear speaker. What's up with that, I'd like for all sound to come through the headphones when they're plugged in.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI went to use my Eris as a music player for the first time. I plugged in my headphones and tested it out by playing a song. The song plays loud and clear through the headphones, but also plays loud and clear through the phone speaker/earpiece. I could not figure out why it would not just play through the headphones. (I have tried a pair of apple earbuds, as well as basic Sony ones).
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe Eternal Speaker plays forever. I never noticed it before today, but my Eris is definitely not disabling music playback through the eternal speaker when I plug headphones (or an adapter, or anything) into the headphone jack. Sound still comes through the earbuds or headphones nice and crisp, just the speaker is ALSO playing the same sound, at the same volume.
This sort of defeats the purpose of one of the main reasons I use headphones- to mute sound for everyone but me. I tried different music players, different headphones, made sure the phone knew they were non-mic headphones, everything. I can't find a setting to tell the speaker to disable when headphones are in- isn't it supposed to be automatic?
My captivate external speaker plays music while I'm listening to the headphones, am I missing a setting to turn this off? Shouldn't the phone's external speaker not be playing music while I'm using my headphones? Sometimes the external speaker will remain silent while my headphones are working (as I would imagine should be the case) until I receive a text message, and then the external speaker will play music along with the headphones. Anyone think this could be a problem with my device? My 30 day period expires on Sept.5 so I am wondering if I should return it for an exchange?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a pair of in the ear headphones with mic that's in between the apple headphones and bose ones? I've looked into the bose headphones, but that's alot of money to go into some wired headphones.. Does anyone have them, can you say they're worth getting for that cash? I use my phone alot for music, so good headphones are important.

android.media.AudioManager doesn't generate an event, it even doesn't return a correct value with isWiredHeadsetOn()
I checked out some old threads about this, but didn't find what I was looking for. I'm looking for the best pair of headphones (blue-tooth preferably) to use while running w/ my Droid or just at the gym with it.. I like to run w/ my phone, and have no problem with it in my pocket.
View 20 Replies View RelatedAnyone use in ear bluetooth headphones? Looking to buy some but never had a pair before so no idea who makes good bluetooth ones. Are they all really expensive? I wouldn't want to pay more than like 65 for a pair really..
Mainly to be used with my Desire.
I'd like to keep the screen on whenever one of my Activities are running and the phone is plugged in to a power source. I know that Wakelocks are tricky, so I'm looking for an example or some documentation on how to accomplish this specific goal.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy understanding is that keeping the Wifi on when no network is available drains the battery. So, I try not to leave it on unless I need to. I am looking for a way to turn the wireless on automatically when my phone is plugged in. Is there a way to do this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes Android keep an internal log that is similar or identical to the log you can view with adb logcat via a Terminal window? It's difficult when my app crashes while I test it out in the field...
Any help would be great! I'm hoping Android keeps a log and there's some way I can access it. Oh, I do have root on my test device.
Discovered a problem today which is reasonably obvious when I think about it.
I have various customised ringtones. They (necessarily) live on the sd card.
when the phone is plugged into a computer it essentially takes the card OUT of the phone loop to allow access.
When the phone rings it can't "find" the customised tone (as the sd card "isn't there) and so defaults to something on the phone itself. which was inaudible.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S. I exercise alot and would like to know if there is a music player that can skip to the next song by pressing the head phone button twice. I dont want to touch the phone as i live in Australia and it is hot and i dont want to sweat all over the phone and break something. With the Iphone they have something where you hit the button twice on the head phones and it skips a song. Three clicks of the button the music player goes back one song. Is there a music player app or a head set i can use. If i press the button now it just pauses.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use my headphones on my laptop to listen to music & i was wondering if i can also use them to talk to my friends ?, I have a built in mic on my laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan anyone recommend an app I can use to control my Music via my mic enabled headphones, similar to what the iphone offers. I found an app called droid shuffle, which sounded perfect but I can't get it to work on my Captivate. Basically I want to be able to press the mic button twice to advance to the next track. This and DRM are the only reasons I wish my droid was more iphoneish.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to use this for a Samsung Tablet.Usually if the device is switched-off and the USB cable is being connected the display will wake up for some seconds showing an animated battery.Instead I want to let it boot.I suspect this is close to the metal. Where do I have to make a modification? In the kernel, in the Android platform, or is this hidden in some proprietary code of the manufacturer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow we can route audio output via speaker even when the headset is plugged in?
My code:..................
I'm thinking about an Android app (with possibly an accompanying physical device), and i'm trying to figure out whether this is something that's feasible.
1) Let's say I plug my Android to my PC. Would it be possible for an app installed on the PC to communicate with an app running in the cell phone? I just need a very simplistic data exchange, it can even be one-way (just data pushed from the cell phone to the listening app on the PC, whenever the cell phone wants, I don't need any data sent from PC to phone).
When I plug it in, the phone gives me 4 options (charge, disk drive, HTC sync, tethering), which makes me think this is not doable, but still worth the shot.
2) Would it be possible for an app on the PC to talk to an app on the phone through any other way? (Wi-fi, bluetooth, etc). I'm guessing no on wi-fi since neither party has the other's IP (and I want this to kinda just work, not having to input IPs manually all the time).
3) If I make a device that's plugged to the little USB port at the bottom of the phone (and let's say this is a magical device that can do anything, I don't quite care about those details as long as it's doable). Can I have an Android app talk to that device?
4) Any other ideas to make the phone talk to a "device" that I make, or to an app in the PC are more than welcome. Going "through the web" could be an option (although there'd have to be a central server that I own as a middle man, I believe). But i'd prefer if the communication was direct between the two devices.
I have an android tablet, nextbook.
I have a USB Keyboard plugged in, but if it's plugged in, I cannot use any other keyboard except physical one. I even try turning off USB Keyboard, but it won't turn off.
What to do?
Request 1: I made this request to HTC but they said to try here as well. My Iphone TomTom GPS used to fade back to itunes when it was not actively speaking. I use the bluetooth on my Mazda 3 for music and routing instead of owning an expensive NAV system. Please enable the Sprint Nav to do so. This would be the ONLY thing I miss from the iPhone at this time.
Request 2. The headphones hiss when a song fades out. Is this a HTC hardware issue or something that can be addressed with a firmware patch? I hear I can get headphones that come out of the bottom port but the hero touted the 3.5 jack and I should not have to do so.
