Android :: Palm Users - What Calendar And ToDo App

I've used Palm phones for the last 10 years and I'm making the switch to Android soon. The Palm program I use the most (and rely on daily) is DateBk (by Pimlico). I've used DateBk for the last 4 years and love it.
One big reason I'm moving to an Android phone is to push all I can into the "Cloud." That way I can have everywhere access to my information and schedule and it's automatically backed up. So I really don't want to buy DateBk (even if it comes to Android) because it's not really a "Cloud" friendly program.
Is Google Calendar coupled with the free "Remember the Milk" app (or maybe it's $10 for Android users) a good replacement for DateBk?

Being a long time OUTLOOK user on my Windows PC, I am use to my previous smartphone syncing these items with my phone. As of now, I see there is a google sync app, but unfortunately this doesn't work with the latest Office 2010 Public Beta. I have yet to hear of a time frame when support will be announced. So it looks like I am no solution running Outlook 2010 any syncing anything to my phone.
What are users on here doing for a desktop to droid sync for your TODO/Calendar, etc? I like Google Calendar, just don't like having to open a web browser on my pc to access my calendar.

What is todo to stop calendar notification from repeating? Do I something wrong or why get I more than one notifications? I have en event with one our notification befor the event starts... I get the notification with the popup, after I read it I delete the statusbar entry (is this the fault?) After ~ 25mins I will get the same notification? I haven't used the calender so much before for notifications, but now it's the 3. time I notice this problem.

This is more hypothetical than anything, but I was thinking that if I ever want to travel to Europe, I could bring my Palm Treo with me and buy a SIM card there, since my Verizon Moto Droid wouldn't work there.
So how could I get my calendar and contacts from my Droid and into my Palm?

This is a big issue for me, so I hope somebody has a fix. I have one Google calendar. When I sync only the last 2 months show all events. Past that, only a few events show up here & there. I've heard of this problem before but never had a sync issue with my Palm Pre. Imagine that. Can anyone list the steps to correct this, if possible.

I'm a long-time PalmOS user and my current phone (Centro/Sprint) is still working, so I'm on the fence about whether to buy a Moment now and suffer the migration hassle, or wait until my existing phone really dies. If you made the switch, are you glad you did? Were the additional features of the Moment and Android 1.5 worth its limitations in other areas?

Trying to learn android by doing a todo application.
So far i have: list all todos create a todo(insert into database)
Adding a delete feature my xml structure for todo list is that i have a TableLayout. and to display my todo list, i put my todo in a textview and i put that textview into a tablerow and i put that tablerow into my tablelayout.
Now i want to add a delete button to the right of my todo list.
My question is there a default delete button that i can use? how do i handle the onclick event, i mean like if a click on a delete button, how do i know which todo this button is for? and is my layout correct?

I'm searching a widget where I can write directly tap on it and if I want to mark as done a string I only just tapping on it without that every time it open the entire program. The thing more similar that I have found is "Todo list widget" but it open everytime the entire app and not permit to write "on the wall".

What is your favorite ToDo List/Reminder App? I would ideally like something which....Easily takes a to-do list Has reminder/alarm functions. Synchs with my calender. I was using my google calender, but then if I dismissed an event I lost my to do list.

I know that this is probably somewhere else but I am unable to find it. But I am looking for an App that will give me a todo list on a daily basis. What I would like to do is add to-do's several days in advance, and each day have it compounded and then as I complete tasks I can remove them from the list and from day to day it would keep adding to the uncompleted tasks from the day before.

I just got a Droid Incredible. I am trying to set it up some some things I need right away. I need a task (todo) manager. I have a rental business and I need to be able to categorize tasks - i.e. rental repairs, rental tenants, rental finance, etc. I like things categorized so that I can display all the tasks in a certain category. Most todo list managers I have looked at, show every task in the same list. So if you've got 200 tasks, you have to scroll through all of them to find the ones related to a certain topic. this is a pain. I would like to have one of the home screens devoted to the task mananger for quick access.

I had a great "todo" list on my ipaq pda a few years back,,,,very close to franklin/covey style.......
I am looking for the view/list to have a priority box left of the task,,,,,franklin use the idea of priority of A1,A2,A3,,,to B1,B2,B3,,,,,to C1,C2,C3. A meant most important,,,,,b's meant need done ,,,,c meant if i can get to them....I like astrid but it doesn't have the view i am looking for.

im new to Android. before i used a Windows Phone. So i have setup my normal Exchange Account, like before on Windows Phone. I have found the Contacts, the Calendars, the Mails but not the ToDo or Tasklist. Where do i found the Todos? I hope, i do not need a thirt party app? I can not think that such a simple function is not included in Android.

I'm a new Droid Eris user and have been using Google Calendar for some time.I have a single calendar set up which is syncing with the Eris.I can successfully add/edit/delete entries from both applications and have them show up just fine on the other side.I have a couple of recurring entries that I've since deleted in Google Calendar but are still showing up on my Eris.The unique thing about both of these entries is that they were meeting requests sent to my Gmail address and accepted from there.They have since been cancelled from the original sender and are now removed from my Google Calendar.My calendar entries are labeled as dark blue, and these two show as light blue.I cannot select them on the Eris to edit or delete them.

In anticipation of a new HTC Incredible soon, I opened a gmail account. I have exported 12 years of calendar, thousands of contacts, notes, and tasks from a PC palm desktop. It created a .dba file, which gmail does not recognize. How can i convert it to .csv or whatever? I was able to easily import ~1000 contacts from my Mac address book.

I've been largely pleased with the Droid after about 12 years using Palm devices. The exception is the inability to easily, quickly import the 550+ Memos I've authored over the years. Plenty of apps will import one huge memo, but none will import a csv file of ALL the memos. This includes OI Note. Does anyone have any experience successfully importing such a large number of memos without having to extensively edit? Or ideally, edit at all?

I need a widget or app similar to a palm app called "Big clock".It has the following functionality:
1. Time: The time tab has a full calendar, time and date
2. World Clock: With at least 2 cities
3. Alarms: 4 configurable alarms that can be set to repeat on a day or days selected. (Great to remind me to watch certain shows).
4. Count-down timer.

I'd like to dedicate this thread specifically to the evaluations and feedback for various Todo's, Todo Lists, Tasks, Task Lists, Lists, etc.I'd like to keep this separate from Notepads as I've dedicated that to another thread ( Notepads and Notepad's that sync - Evaluations and Reviews ).Doing a search for Todo's and Tasks on the Android Market comes up with so many results. I am about to begin a nursing program in January nd they require us to purchase a Palm T/X PDA ($299) so we can run certain nursing apps such as a note card software, refrence material etc.Now i was wondering, why would i buy a $300 PDA when i can get a G1 for about $200, that's a phone as well nd has a full QWERTY key-board + camera, and... has a 528 MHz processor vs the 312 MHz runnin the Palm T/X (Palm OS Garnet, 5.4.9) So my question is could i run the Palm OS based softwares on a G1 if i get it?

I'm transitioning my PIM's from my Palm TX to a shiny, new Evo. Big jump I know. My major concern was how to manage the hundreds of memos I had accumulated over the years. I loved the simplicity of the Palm desktop, offline access, and easy syncing but was having trouble finding a good alternative on android even after reading through many forums. I stumbled onto B-folders which seems to work great as a Palm desktop memo replacement.B-folders has a desktop component that is similar to the Palm desktop in its simplicity and ease of use. It's actually cleaner than the example they have on their website. The B-folders app is also nice and clean. Porting hundreds of memos in multiple different categories was actually very easy. Here's how I did it:
1)On the Palm desktop within a category, select all memos.
2)Export as a csv file. When it asks to specify export fields, only check "Memo".
3)On the B-folders desktop, import as a generic csv file.
4)A new folder called "Imported Data" will be created. Right click on it to edit the name.
5)Repeat for all your memo categories.
6)Sync with your app and you're done! You'll have all your memos on your desktop and phone and can sync them anytime. I used wifi to sync.
There is a 30 day trial after which it costs $30. I'm not one to usually pay for apps but this one might be worth it. Hopefully this helps all those die-hard PalmOS users left out there!
