View 1 RepliesI purchased the HTC Incredible and got it last week. In the last couple of days, I noticed the buttons at the bottom of the phone were sometimes lit and sometimes not. I went into the Verizon store today to pre-order the TV out cable and asked the tech about the lights. He said HTC was aware of several bugs and there will be an update shortly that will remedy them. On the TV out cables, they're all sold out. They're selling like hotcakes - same as the Incredible.

I would like to know whether this is actually possible in Android?
When Android phone receives an incoming call from a specific number the phone's ringing should stop and also the screen should not blink. What I mean is the user should not be able to know that there was incoming call, but actually there was.
I do not want to delete any call logs, just to stop sound on incoming call from a specific number and that too at a specific time.
My incredible works fine... I highly reccomended it to my friend and she loves it too but it did a weird thing yesterday... she had it plugged into the wall and was playing wordfeud with me and my friends, also streaming music... and then the phone just died. I looked at it and it had a blinking chargeing LED... I couldn't turn on the phone even with it plugged it...
Here is what I figured.. she was using her factory cable but had some cheap wall charger universal usb plug... I used my factory usb to plug it in and it still wouldn't work... I swapped out her battery with my extra one I carry with me and it booted up fine...
I double checked with my phone and mine doesn't blink it just stays on when chargeing... is there something wrong with her battery maybe? she has only had the phone for about 2 weeks ...
Mine is rooted/unrevoked:forever/with 2.2 and I have never had 1 issue with the phone... hers is bone stock 2.1 ... anyone else have an issue like this? if its the battery I'll make sure she gets is swapped out asap for free
Is there any way to make the LED not blink (ie just stay on)? I know Ruby does it, but is there any way to do it with one of the sense based roms?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any validity whatsoever to the above?
This dire warning was plastered all over the main VZW device forums here recently. As data-wipe is a routine step when flashing a custom ROM, it certainly raised a few eyebrows in xda and other quarters. Now the posts are just gone...
is there an app like blackberrys ringer profile, so u can set which notifications of how u want them to notify u like volume, number of rings, vibrates, led blink?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn cyanogenmod settings under input settings there is an option for always pulse. Unfortunately for us this option is grayed out because it refers to the trackball. It does also work for the led light on our phones though. I much prefer my LED to blink when I have a notification even when the screen is on because if I am doing something that takes up the entire screen I otherwise may not notice the notification. Bugs me that this option is grayed out in CM6 so I decided to find a way around it.
So what I did is pulled the cmparts.apk from CM6 RC2 for the Nexus One. You can download it here.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7223192/CMParts.apk
Just make sure you put it on your computer in the directory that you will be running adb from.
Then reboot into recovery and mount /system
Then go on your computer and ADB.
Then adb push cmparts.apk /system/app
Then reboot. You will now have the option in cyanogenmod settings to always pulse. You will also have the option to Trackball Wake and Trackball unlock although these options will not do anything.
I turned my DX off last night and noticed that every once in a while a blue LED flash. It was not on the charger.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm occasionally getting an alert from the app Blink that tells me i'm running low on memory. What exactly does this mean? Are too many apps running, or is too much simply installed?
How do I go about reviewing the memory being used, and then how to free some up? What amount or % of memory should be free?
I've just noticed that my notification light only blinks for almost exactly 5mins.
At first I thought it didn't always work because I would come to my phone, not see the light, take it off standby and see I have a message or email. Then I noticed it was working but just went off very quickly.
I've heard that task managers/killers can affect the alerts and I am running Astro but using it as a file manager and not a task killer (as I've discovered they're 99% unnecessary). I am also using Handcent for my SMS/MMS messages.
Is this normal for you guys? No matter what type of message I get, I only get 5mins worth of blinking.
Why do GIFs literally flash in a blink of an eye? They are shown properly on the list folder, but when you press play their over in less than 1/2 a second.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anybody found a way to make the trackball blink for various other notifications other than SMS and eMail? I use google talk all the time and I would love to have the trackball light blink slowly (just like the normal alert for a waiting SMS message) when I receive a google talk message that I haven't read. Or how about gMail? They light up the notification led blinking green but there is no trackball notification. I'm actually quite surprised there doesn't seem to be any setting I can find to make the trackball blink for various notifications. My phone's already rooted so that should expand my options but I haven't found anybody that's done this yet.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI gave my wife my D2, did a factory reset on it beforehand. She's been playing on it now for almost a week with no problem until today..
It started off with her gallery, when you try to go into the gallery it will kick you right back out into the launcher. I can use astro to get to her pics but any pics she takes now won't work. So then she went into her messaging app, all it does is cycle, it won't load up any messages at all.. I really don't know what's wrong with it, trying to avoid a factory reset if I can, but I will if it's my only option.
I have BB 0.4 with blue energy theme and chevy 1.1 lv kernel. Along with Launcher Pro. Normally the notification LED will blink when i get a text while doing normal stuff or nothing at all. But when i am gaming the LED doesnt blink. Has any one have a problem with this? Also, when i open a message from the notification bar instead of the message box in the dock. The dock still displays the number of messages unread even after reading it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just switched from i Phone 4 to Droid X. Very exciting, since not only I have to learn how to use it but also I need to optimize the phone as well. (So much to do, I was bored with i Phone 4 ) So far battery life is not that great, drops 10 % every hour or 2 without heavy duty. (is this normal?) But yeah my question is every time I unlock the screen,(so when the screen wakes up) the notification light blinks with blue/red color. Is that normal? I checked Motorola, it wasn't on the manual.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using handcent for my sms. i think it is great, i can customize it heaps how i want it. however there is an option for changing the colour/rate of the LED blink light for when i get a text, however no matter what i pick it never changes. the little light at the top always blinks every 4-5 seconds in a green colour when i have a new message, however i would love for it to blink blue every second (as i have tried to set it) so that i can differentiate the notifications from reminders and other notifications. is this a problem with the phone not doing wat it is supposed to, or the application isnt working? or a combination, maybe the desire doesnt have any other colours for its LED light?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created an application that creates notifications, using the following code:
// Notification notification = new Notification(R.drawable.notification_icon, title, System.currentTimeMillis());
notification.flags |= Notification.FLAG_AUTO_CANCEL;
// parameters
String ringtone = prefs.getString(context.getString(R.string.key_notifications_ringtone), "");
if (ringtone.length() > 0) { notification.sound = Uri.parse(ringtone);
notification.audioStreamType = AudioManager.STREAM_NOTIFICATION;
} boolean useVibrator = prefs.getBoolean(context.getString(R.string.key_notifications_use_vibrator), false);
if (useVibrator) { notification.defaults |= Notification.DEFAULT_VIBRATE;
} boolean useLed = prefs.getBoolean(context.getString(R.string.key_notifications_use_led), false);
if (useLed) { notification.defaults |= Notification.DEFAULT_LIGHTS;
notification.flags |= Notification.FLAG_SHOW_LIGHTS;
} // alert
RemoteViews contentView = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.notification);
contentView.setImageViewResource(R.id.notification_icon, R.drawable.icon);
contentView.setTextViewText(R.id.notification_title, title);
contentView.setTextViewText(R.id.notification_text, text);
notification.contentView = contentView;
Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(context, MyActivity.class);
PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(context, 0, notificationIntent, 0);
notification.contentIntent = contentIntent; notificationManager.notify(1, notification);
The notification works, and the correct ringtone is used. However, even though the preferences are correctly activated and notification flags are correctly set (I checked by debugging), the notification never vibrates and never cause the lights to be activated. I would have blamed my phone's settings, but every other app using notifications, like messaging, gmail, and others correctly use all these features. (My phone is a HTC Hero with Android 2.1)
I use my android phone for a week now. Last night I noticed that the screens lights up for a few seconds. Is it because it wants to announce new mails or a callander item (without reminder!) ?
The flashing wakes me and uses battery. Can I turn it off?
I use Timeriffic and can turn down the brightness to 0% but I do not know if I want that. What if someone calls me and the brightness is 0%?
i've had my phone rooted with sensable...i recently about two weeks ago rerooted it again with it..i was going to put another rom on but it didnt work out so great so i went back to sensable...its been fine..until yesterday my battery is drained within an hour...and its not even being used...the status light at the top doesnt blink..i've set to not get notifications for emails...no text messages either..so how on earth do i fix this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMobile phone. I bought it year and a half ago, and have changed operating systems few times (custom roms). Now I have Pristine JB Slim custom ROM, i have installed it 1-2 months ago (cant remember exactly), and everything was okay for first half period, but then it started to crush after mobile data/wifi was turned on.
When I turn on MD/WIFi, its usually okay till 76% of battery, but then screen starts to blink for few seconds and turns off immediately after. When I turn it on again, it turns off again after 1-2 minutes, and sometimes even warns me that i have to charge it cause battery has only few % left (most of time just 1). And I have to charge it again to work normally (well, until it starts to go crazy again )
Before i start to install other roms again. So. Is it faulty battery, bad ROM or something else?
In my android application I have the following As far as I am aware, I have followed the steps in the documentation to set it to play a sound from the resources folder, and to flash the lights. However, neither of these happen. It does, however, vibrate, as instructed. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? I've looked through the permissions that I can give the app in the AndroidManifest.xml file, but I can't see one for letting it flash the light or make sounds. Code...
