HTC Desire :: Notification Light Blink For More Than 5mins

I've just noticed that my notification light only blinks for almost exactly 5mins.
At first I thought it didn't always work because I would come to my phone, not see the light, take it off standby and see I have a message or email. Then I noticed it was working but just went off very quickly.
I've heard that task managers/killers can affect the alerts and I am running Astro but using it as a file manager and not a task killer (as I've discovered they're 99% unnecessary). I am also using Handcent for my SMS/MMS messages.
Is this normal for you guys? No matter what type of message I get, I only get 5mins worth of blinking.

so you know the led light in the upper-left? how do i get that to light up/blink to show that i have a new message/call missed, etc.?

I just switched from i Phone 4 to Droid X. Very exciting, since not only I have to learn how to use it but also I need to optimize the phone as well. (So much to do, I was bored with i Phone 4 ) So far battery life is not that great, drops 10 % every hour or 2 without heavy duty. (is this normal?) But yeah my question is every time I unlock the screen,(so when the screen wakes up) the notification light blinks with blue/red color. Is that normal? I checked Motorola, it wasn't on the manual.

I am using handcent for my sms. i think it is great, i can customize it heaps how i want it. however there is an option for changing the colour/rate of the LED blink light for when i get a text, however no matter what i pick it never changes. the little light at the top always blinks every 4-5 seconds in a green colour when i have a new message, however i would love for it to blink blue every second (as i have tried to set it) so that i can differentiate the notifications from reminders and other notifications. is this a problem with the phone not doing wat it is supposed to, or the application isnt working? or a combination, maybe the desire doesnt have any other colours for its LED light?

Has anybody found a way to make the trackball blink for various other notifications other than SMS and eMail? I use google talk all the time and I would love to have the trackball light blink slowly (just like the normal alert for a waiting SMS message) when I receive a google talk message that I haven't read. Or how about gMail? They light up the notification led blinking green but there is no trackball notification. I'm actually quite surprised there doesn't seem to be any setting I can find to make the trackball blink for various notifications. My phone's already rooted so that should expand my options but I haven't found anybody that's done this yet.

i've had my phone rooted with sensable...i recently about two weeks ago rerooted it again with it..i was going to put another rom on but it didnt work out so great so i went back to sensable...its been fine..until yesterday my battery is drained within an hour...and its not even being used...the status light at the top doesnt blink..i've set to not get notifications for emails...no text messages either..so how on earth do i fix this?

I have BB 0.4 with blue energy theme and chevy 1.1 lv kernel. Along with Launcher Pro. Normally the notification LED will blink when i get a text while doing normal stuff or nothing at all. But when i am gaming the LED doesnt blink. Has any one have a problem with this? Also, when i open a message from the notification bar instead of the message box in the dock. The dock still displays the number of messages unread even after reading it.

Why do GIFs literally flash in a blink of an eye? They are shown properly on the list folder, but when you press play their over in less than 1/2 a second.

Just wanted to get some opinions here about my battery performance to help determine if it's defective and to see if I should return the phone for a new one.Whenever I charge my phone, it gets all the way up to 100% (obviously), but after I unplug the phone the battery will drop down to around a 90% charge level 5 minutes after unplugging it. And that's with no usage at all. I simply unplug it, turn off the screen, and stick it in my pocket. Mobile network is enabled, but bluetooth, wifi, and gps are all off and I don't have any crazy apps running that are draining the battery. Within an hour (with little or no use), the battery will then usually be in the 75% range, sometimes a little lower. I don't think I've made it past 11 or 12 hours yet without the battery dying, even though my usage is pretty light. Any ideas on what is going on? Do you think the battery is just a junky one or is this normal behavior for the phone?

One of the nice things I had with my BB was an app that allowed you to modify the length, frequency, and color of your LED light notifications for when you had missed calls, emails, etc. That way you didn't have to bring the screen alive to know if you didn't hear the audible notification. The LED on the EVO seems to be pretty short and sometimes infrequent. I seem to keep bringing the screen alive to find I have missed emails etc. but the LED wasn't flashing at all. Has anyone found a good App that does this?

Does any one know how to set the notification light on the phone so it blinks when you have a missed call or text when the phone is charging? Cant seem to find this option, I find it weird Android doesn't have this option as default to begin with.

yesterday on the way home from a road trip I had my phone playing pandora while plugged into a car charger when the notification light started blinking back and fourth from green to orange, anyone have any idea what this is about?
Also I've got the low storage space notification, has the answer to that been decided as do a factory reset?

Is there a notification light on the Droid X? If so, does anyone know how to get it to work? I have looked in all of the settings and I can not find where to turn the notification lights on and yes, it does appear to have a notification light, I just can't get it to work.

Is there any way to modify how long the LED light will flash when you have an unread message or email? I found several programs in the market but they only seemed concerned with "changing" the color of the light (which does not work) and how fast the light will flash. But none of them had a setting to make the LED flash for say 4 hours after I receive a message unless I check it.

When I was using android api 5 (sdk 2.0) I was able to show light notification in the trackball of my nexus one: mNotificationManager.notify("my tag",0, notif); Now, I'm developping on android api 3 (sdk1.5) and this method is no more available so I use: mNotificationManager.notify(0, notif); But the light notification is not shown...........

I am looking for an app that uses the Button lights for notification purposes. (Stock 2.3.6 fw)I now there is one that uses the LED flash light, lcd backlight and Amoled but I only want .When looking with logcat I saw these lines:
PowerManagerService( 166): setLightBrightness : mButtonLight : 102
PowerManagerService( 166): setLightBrightness : mButtonLight : 0
Is it possible to use them for notification purposes? Is it already done? But I cannot get them off again. Can the PowerMangerService be used to do that in 2.3.6?
