I know there are apps that can auto respond to all SMS's received with a predetermined SMS. is anyone aware of an app that lets you select certain people and not just everyone in the contact list?

I'm a member of quite a few forums and this has to be the only forum where hundreds of members click on a thread topic to view and not reply or provide any feedback. Why? If you have no intention of providing information, and you see that there are zero replies in the thread, why enter it? I can understand if you are seeking info that pertains to the thread topic, but if you see there are zero replies, what's the point of entering it and offer no feedback?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have this issue where when I am trying to reply to a text message and select the person's name to display the message but another person's name appears. I am not hitting the wrong person since the other person's name is nowhere on the screen. I've had 3 HTC EVO that did the same thing so im assuming this is software issue.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I am responding to a text, the screen will not rotate.If I initate a text, it will rotate for me when I rotate the phone, but, when someone sends me a text, and I turn the phone to landscape to get the larger keyboard to send with, it will not change.I do have it set to rotate, as it will rotate if I try to do so when sending.Anything I can do about this? I've tried rebooting the phone a couple of times.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've used SMS Popup and Handcent's popup feature and both reply to messages while the phone is in my pocket, and obviously they are jibberish and it annoys some of my friends (I don't even realize they texted me most of the time).
Is there any way to have some sort of unlocking feature when the phone 'wakes up'? Has anyone else figured out a way around this problem?
Anyone else having a problem when replying to email using the default mail app that the keyboard hides the send button? i keep having to minimize the keyboard to see the SEND button.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy contacts are all setup as area code+xxxxxxx. I'm using the stock messaging app on my Moment. I get a text from someone in my contacts and reply to it. The text bounces back as not being in the ten digit format.
Is this because of the way the sender has their number configured or have I failed to setup texting correctly?
I called Sprint and they suggested a hard reset but I think the rep was clueless.
my contacts list is growing quickly, thanks to facebook.
the problem is that i get emailed when someone replies to a post i make. if i reply to that email, sent by facebook, it updates the facebook post (which i like) but it also adds the facebook email message to my contacts. since each facebook email is different my contacts list is growing quickly.
is there a way to stop the facebook replies being added to my contacts, while still keeping other replies being added to my contacts?
I'm looking for an alarm clock app with one very specific feature - allow me to set the alarm tone to automatically stop after X seconds, then start again at the next snooze interval, and play for another X seconds.
Sure it seems every alarm app out there allows me to set Snooze intervals and stuff, but with my waking up habit, I don't like to physically have to touch the phone to get it to shut up until the next snooze interval. I like to lay in bed and let the alarm go for like 3-4 snooze intervals before I finally wake up.
I've tried Alarm Clock PlusV2, Alarm Clock Xtreme, Quick Alarm. None of them seem to have this.
I installed it on my Droid and when I open the list and long press on an app it gives me the option to Auto-Kill. I assume this means I won't have to kill this app any longer so I select this option but I find that I keep having to kill the same apps over and over again. What's the point of Auto-Kill or what am I doing wrong? There are lots of programs (most I didn't even install) that run all the time and I'm having battery issues so I don't have battery to waste on programs I'm not using and will probably never use.

1. Scale the image so that it's just large enough to fill the the entire viewing area without any black borders, while still maintaining its aspect ratio. This might require clipping once the image is actually displayed, but that's OK (read on).
2. Then, center the image in the viewing area, both horizontally and vertically.
3. Finally, clip the image to the size of the viewing area, without any further rescaling.
I'm guessing that this kind of image processing is not automatically done via any of Android's facilities, and that I'll have to do it myself. If this is a correct assumption, could someone point me to some documentation or some examples which could explain how I can accomplish this? I'm guessing that I'll have to subclass my TextView and implement my own onDraw() method, but could someone confirm or deny that assumption?
Are these the same? I have searched the forum, and can't seem to find the answer. I don't find any "auto brightness" setting in the settings menu on the Hero. I have auto backlight unchecked. What exactly does this do? Is this the screen dimming? Sorry, I am confused. Uh oh! Must be a senior moment!
While I am showing off photos I have on my phone, the screen dims...how do I keep this from happening?
Also, relating to photos..when I go to "Albums", I have 4 folders listed...Camera Shots, All Photos, etc. When I take a pictures with the phone camera, they seems to be in both folders. Why?
My wife and I have been having the same problem. We keep the auto-brightness option checked, but every so often we find that it goes back to manual mode--and it always reverts the phone back to full brightness setting. Any ideas why this would happen?

This function, no matter how trivial, would save time and effort.

So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.

Quick question though: I do not have a data plan therefore my emails are not constantly syncing and such. I was wondering if there is an application that would make my wifi turn on at a set time and for a set length of time in order to fetch and sync and then turn off. Thought is was bad when we had EDGE but way too expensive with 3G. I use DATA THROTTLE to keep my G1 off the data Network most of the day but I connect 4 or 5 times a day to check email and to play around. With 3G that playing around is averaging $7 usd a day! But I have downloaded about 5 apps so far and although they all work when I use them when I put my phone in my pocket it turns off and will not connect.
