HTC Desire :: How To Log Urgent Browser App?

Apr 19, 2010

On the browser (standard and xscope), when login on to online banking a number of boxes need completing, however on the desires browser they are not referenced when you need to complete each one.click onto user name.A blank box appears for completion. User enters the user name. Then theres a next button to press for the next field. Click next. And another blank box appears! No indication as to what needs to be entered. This is espcially annoying when it asks for certain digits or for example the 6th letter of the password, and when entering payment details as you don't know what to complete where. It either needs the name of the required box above the box or as a background piece of text. Can this be sorted out urgently?? to me this is the biggest single problem of the Desire and is the only thing to have put my mate off buying one - the N900 displays the field name alongside the entry field.

Android :: Google Team - Pin Favorite Threads

Mar 18, 2009

I was wondering, why there is no functionality to pin threads a user is interested in. As there is such a high traffic on these groups, it takes time to find the threads I answered to or some I am interested to see how the problem is solved. Sometimes you don't remember the naming of the subject or the user that wrote it and then searching becomes annoying. An easy way would be to pin some threads! I mean the right side is nearly empty an everybody is authenticated when she uses the group, not to just read.

Android :: Keeping Map API Keys In Sync Across A Dev Team

Jan 5, 2010

When an app which uses the Map API is released it must be signed with the public cert. For individual use the key comes from the local debug keystore, created each time the Android SDK is installed. In other words, its different for each developer. When I include a view using it, then commit, my key goes in the xml, but the next developer to take an update clobbers his key, which being different to mine results in no maps being shown for him. Is there a smarter way to prevent this when a team is using the Maps API please?

ADC2 messages are scattered in android-developers and android-discuss groups. ADC2 discussions does not fit in either of these groups. There will be hundreds of queries, comments, news and PR pitches once the ADC2 judging app goes live. So please could you start a ADC2 discussion group at the earliest.

Motorola :: How Can I Suggest A Feature To Google Android Team?

Dec 25, 2009

I have been looking for a easy way to add borders to custom made Views (Compounds or whatever), and the only answer I found was that there is no built-in support for that. Instead there are suggestions that you should add Views on top/below the View you want borders on and a bunch of others really messy ways to get borders.oming from the .NET-environment that is pretty brutal to have to do ugly workaround and "hacks" to get something as simple as borders. Thus, I want to suggest that feature to the Android team. Im not sure how they can have missed it, but it is surely missed, So, is there any official way to suggest a feature in the SDK/framework? I have looked around a bit, but cant comment on their blogs, no e-mail addresses as far as I can see.

The Team Black Hat now has an NFL wallpaper application. If you have TBH, you can just download the NFL wallpaper app, then install with a program like Astro File Manager. Android :: Looking For Few Co Developers

Apr 2, 2009

I am looking for some fellow developers to build a few applications that work together to allow the android phone to take advantage of cheap telephony services provided over the internet. These are sms, voip, calling cards and similar such services.I have been investigating this quite a bit and developing an app to work with PennyTel but i have discovered an issue with the Android OS. Android is not designed to let you replace low level systems in your app and there for there is no way to capture out going sms etc. This means that to write an app that sends all out going sms via pennytel is impossible and that the only way around this is to write your own sms client like ChompSMS and i am sure this will apply to other parts of the phone as well. What i am looking to do is make a reusable system that uses intents to do things. A complete sms application that uses an intent to send the sms so that more sms providers can be added later, a dialer and outgoing call system that will fire an event for another app to make the call etc. What I want is sever apps that use intents not just to open their app but also to choose the outgoing their service uses. personally i want to write one of the outgoing paths and i am looking for some developers who would be interested in writing the more front end apps like the dialer and sms applications. If anyone is interested let me know as it is just too much work for one person and i am sure your apps will be used by many people as more and more people could right services they could be hooked into.

Android :: Hiding App Developers

Jul 17, 2010

Is there any way of hiding specific app developers that you don't link on the market?
E.g. if one developer has made thousands of sound board apps or themes for an app that I won't be using - I could hide that developer and wouldn't see his/her apps on the market?

If this is possible, I think it would make the market much less annoying when you have to scroll through hundreds of sound boards and app themes.

This would be some excellent support for the faithful Android developers. I have eight apps but live in Canada so I haven't been permitted to post them on the Market yet. Still I'm hoping Google might take this into account for Canadian developers who can't yet meet the sales criteria. I applied anyway and hope Google will respond so I can begin mobile testing.

Android :: Life After G1 / Upgrade Developers Phones?

Oct 13, 2010

I've been using the G1 for a while now and have been quite happy with it except that it only goes up to 1.6. In order to develop on 2.1 and beyond, I need to upgrade to a newer phone. I'd like to continue it using the new dev phone as my personal phone as well which limits it to AT&T for me. Seems like my only choices, according to http://www.google.com/phone, are nexus one, samsung captivate or HTC aria. Are all 3 good developers phones? Should I look for an unlocked droid instead? The nexus looks great but at it's a bit steep considering I'll probably need an android tablet for development as well soon. BTW, any thoughts on what would be a good developers tablet and when they might be available.
