Motorola Droid :: Meebo Keeps Quitting / Fix This?
Nov 21, 2009The last two days, Meebo has been quitting on me I don't know when but everytime I sign on and look like 10 minutes later I'm signed off. How do i fix this?

May 8, 2010I have a thread I use to periodically update the data in my Activity. I create the thread and start a looper for using a handler with postDelay(). In onDestroy() for my activity, I call removeCallbacks() on my handler.
Should I then call handler.getLooper().quit()? Or not worry about it and let the OS deal with it? Or would it just run forever then, consuming CPU cycles?
Android :: Alarm Clock Quitting Application
May 27, 2010I have an application that runs fine. However, if i set the alarm clock's alarm, it happens this:
1. The alarm is triggered 2. My application gets dimmed and the clock appears on top of it 3. When i close the alarm, my application CLOSES TOO
When the alarm is dismissed, my app receive the events onClose and onDestroy.
I already saw other apps that survive after the alarm is triggered.
Android :: Meebo, One IM To Rule Them All...
Nov 10, 2008Meebo, the free IM app is now available for download in the andriod market place.
I've been using www.meebo.com to IM on AIM, MSN, and GTalk with 1 logon and without any download (at work mostly heh) for a while now and I have nothing but praise for it.
Now they're created an app that does the same thing for the G1.
If you'd going to try it out, I'd recommend setting up your accounts on the computer/website first (really easy) that way it's ready to go when you DL the app for the phone.
I'm using it, it works, check it out if you need an all-in-one IM client.
HTC EVO 4G :: Help Quitting Skype
Oct 21, 2010I've installed skype,
but i can't seem to exit it.
the backbutton doesn't work and advanced task killer doesn't see skype.
At the top left corner, i can see skype is still runnin when i use the home button to get back home.
how can i quit this app?
there is nothing in menu except "add" and "groups"
i figured out if you set your status to sign off, that works. but is that the only way?

Mar 2, 2010My brother in law turned me on to Pandora this past weekend. I knew about it and even poked around with it a few years ago, but never "got into" it. Having bailed on renewing my satellite radio subscription recently, I thought it time to check out Pandora. He taught me the ropes and we set up 2 channels to drive home with. Fire it up, worked fine. Turned on the Satellite Layer in maps to show him his neighborhood in a live GPS route - almost immediately Pandora crapped out on us. I presumed it was a bandwidth issue with loading satellite imagery as well as streaming audio. Had to kill the app and restart. On our way back home however, it died again - working fine, fired up another app - one that saves my track logs to a file for later examination. As soon as this app started, Pandora stopped. OK, Pandora needs a clear pallate, whatever, for now, we'll give it to her. Fired it up now a 3rd time - it ran like a champ - playing a new mix much better than what we used to get on XM Radio. Love it, wish I used it earlier. However, it stopped dead in its tracks right about 30 minutes after we started it. Had to go into App Manager and "kill" the Pandora app, then re-start it manually. It ran this 4th time for again, right about 30 minutes. Fired up again and thankfull we were only 20 mins from home, were able to listen to it into the garage.

Mar 7, 2010I'd like to announce the release on the Android Market of our last creation: 1 Minute Game. The main concept is very simple. The computer shows puzzles based on numbers, shapes and colours: the player must solve them and touch the correct answer to go to the next round, trying to be as fast as possible. We implemented 3 different modes that must be unlocked by playing more and more. You can play games under the "Training" areas so to train yourself and challenge your friends locally (there are 6 slots to store the profiles of the players).
Online Challenge
But the core of 1 Minute Game is the online challenge, which allows the players (once per day) to play a special match and to send the result to an online leader board. Each score shows also the nationality selected by each player try to get your country at top of the ranking. The ranking is visible both through the application and visiting the web site of the game.
Free DLC
In order to make the game more appealing and let you enjoy it for more time, we are developing new games to be released for free in the next versions of the application. For example, this morning (it's a matter of minutes) we will release the version 1.1 which contains a brand new game in the training section: The intruder. In each round, all of the objects shown on the screen share the same characteristic (same shape, colour, number or animation) except for one: that's the Intruder!
New games of logic will be released once they are completed and fully tested through future news.
LITE version
There is also a LITE version in the Market: 1 Minute Game LITE (limited number of levels, no online challenge and 2 slots to store the users' profiles), so you can try it and see if it is worth to buy the Full one. This LITE version includes the additional training "The Intruder" as well.

Jul 30, 20101) On my phone (OS 2.1) the standard alarm clock plays fine, but plays for only 1 minute before snoozing it self. Shouldn't it play the tune until I snooze it myself?
2) I hear everybody rave about Kaloer clock... so I downloaded it, and yes, very pretty and seemingly very customizable... but, of all the music I have on the phone (several gigs), it strangely only detects 2 songs.. why? The location directory for those two songs is the same as the rest..

Mar 6, 2014I am on Three UK, and I manually searched for an update for my Galaxy Note 3 today, while on my wireless network. My phone showed that a KitKat 4.4.2 update was available which was approx. 391 MB in size. Downloaded and installed it.
The install worked fine, but after the install, my phone seems to be draining the battery at 1% every minute. I have turned off GPS, wireless, mobile data etc. but to no avail.I don't even have Skype installed on my phone (as Google asked some users to uninstall Skype)

Jun 17, 2010I'm definitely diggin' Swype on my Evo, however I've got a question that hopefully has a simple answer. My phone used to go to sleep after a minute, which is what I like/want. Since I installed the Swype Beta today, it won't. I have to go and tap my power button to make it sleep. Is there a work around for this?

Menu > Settings > Sound & Display > Screen timeout
We all know the setting, but when I change this to 1 minute it ALWAYS goes back to 30 seconds for some reason. I'm not sure if it's after a reboot or not but it's annoying as hell. As I do appreciate the help please don't tell me about screenmode widget or any widget to KEEP the screen on as this is not what I wan, I want it to timeout after 1 minute not 30 seconds.

Feb 12, 2010I've had my phone for a couple weeks now but I don't make too many voice calls. Right now I'm down to 40 percent battery after a day of pretty heavy usage but I've only made a few calls totaling 7 minutes in all. These calls have used 7% of the battery according to the battery usage. I've been in great service areas and I just didn't expect calls to use this much power. Is something wrong or is this normal?
