Android :: Lost Cert For Published App

I have a free app published in Android market. I have lost the certificate used to sign the current version but I want to publish an updated version. Android market refuses to accept my upgrade because it is signed by a new certificate. I realize the users will have to uninstall the current version to get the upgrade but it's not clear how to get the updated version into the market so that the current users will find it.What are my options?

I'm connecting to a REST service using HttpClient under Android. I'd like to be able to write code where I could pull the host, port, etc. out of a properties file and not have to write fake Schemes and other things like that in order to do the development work. In other words, the live site will have a cert. The dev site will have a self-signed cert or a CA cert. Either way, I need the code to seamlessly work with both kinds of certs if possible. Can someone point me in the right direction?

It has being weeks that I published my Pashto Dictionary application. It is visible in playstore by some operations(ISPs) but not in all. When I search for my application at home; I cant find it but I can find it when searching at office. In both cases; I use my Laptop without plugging my device. (I search in play.google.com)

I have just published my application and would to be able to provide a link on my website that will show my application? Also, if they browse to my website on their phone, is there some kind of link I can add that the user can click on that will take them to the market to download my app?

Does anyone know the step by step settings to put your app so it can show up in the 2.1 market? My app has been in the market for a few days, and a couple 2.1 users says that they cannot find it. It shows in the 2.2 though. Can someone help?

I recently published our app to the marketplace and enabled copy protection. The app shows up when browsing the market on the Motorola Droid and others but does not appear when browsing with either the HTC Evo or Droid Incredible. Is this due to the copy protection? I'd like to keep my app copy protected but would like to make it available to customers of these two devices. Is this a bug or expected behavior and what are my options?

I have published a free app on the android market. I want to edit the description and add a couple of screen shots. While the "Upload Aplication" screen on http://market.android.com/publish lets me make these changes & saves them too, they don't show up in the description of the app when I go the android market. Do I have to unpublish & republish the app (in which case I might run into version issues)? Or else, how do I make these changes to description appear on the android market?

I recently uploaded my application to the android market however it's refusing to run when downloaded due to the error
Package file was not signed correctly
I first published the packet using eclipse, right click export, creating a keystore then publishing, however it refuses to work.
I then downloaded the keytool and jarsigner and used them to sign an upgrade which I posted instead. However this gives the same error.
And since I cannot delete the application I cannot try and start again,

Our first stab at a game was just published to the Android Market. It's a fun and (hopefully) mildy addicting game where you match a list of game pieces to those bouncing around on the game board. The faster you do it, the more points and time you get, and as you clear the list the next level requires more pieces. We decided to post two versions of the game, Kromium is the full version, containing unlimited levels, difficulty settings (adjusts time and score bonuses), and the ability to enter your name for high scores. The free version (Kromium Lite) is the same concept, but is ad supported, only allows one loop through the levels, no difficulty adjustment, and generic high scoring. Here's a link to the free version: Feedback on the game in general would be great, as well as the split of functionality between the versions. Additional features and suggestions are certainly welcome. Feel free to comment on here or in the market.

I am been working a on an an android app called Inomail that is available on the android market. I have done an overhaul changing the background colours, buttons to blue and green neon colours, change all icons and change text such app name plus other strings elsewhere.
Everthing work fine and I am certain it will be popular download if published.
I have been using APK Manger and Eclipse and Java decompilers to convert smali to java codes.
I successfully signed with a private key and it worked but this the obvious problem renaming the package when changing it crashes. I done everthing including refactoring and renaming in Eclipse, also renamed all the package name to all sub packages but to no avail.
If rename tthe package name back to original name it works but changing it crashes.
Now I have done some search on here there also a code to the package name which the reason for it to crash and the best way it to use a rooted device which I have and install the app.
So my 2 questions where is the folder on smartphone would I find the file or code how to manage to rename package published app on the market and how?

So I started a new job, and so I set about setting up my Droid to use as my work phone (they have since given me a work iphone. yep, I am not a two phone carrying guy). I read tutorials on using your gmail account to sync with outlook, but then discovered you can simply use the email exchange. But somewhere along the line, I lost my contacts. But wait, there's more! I didnt lose all my contacts, 3 contacts in the G section and 2 in the M section are still there. AND when someone in my contacts texts me, their name and number shows up even though they dont show up in my contacts, so I know the missing ones are in the phone somewhere!

I had the market app on my home screen for a while, then decided I didn't need it there. So I dragged it to the trash. But, when I went to use it again from the "all apps" area it was gone. I can't find it anywhere, how do I get it back?

I recently updated my Moment to 2.1 which of course wipes the phone. I used My backup Pro which lets you back up all your apps, and data.
So i did the flash to 2.1, loaded up my backup pro restored all my apps and data (was actually very easy and quick to do) which included two of the games i had been playing for a while now (World War & Vampiers). However when i loaded the game's back up it no longer had any of my game data. It started me over as if i was brand new to the game which really SUCKS!! Granted they weren't the best game around, but they gave me something to do when i only had a few min. I was lvl 37 on one and like lvl 31 on the other.....there is no way in hell i will start over on those game's.

Well I was bragging up My new Launcher pro + today and loving it have it set up nice and I have the People Widget and for some reason do not know what I did I lost all my contacts. It says I have 10 fav and I set the widget to fav and nothing I have 2 friends there and they are blacked out.

This is an incredibly dumb question. So, apologies. But I can't find the answer anywhere and it's driving me nuts.
In DDMS, I have lost the tag column, i.e. the first part of the message from Log.d(tag, message). I can see time, log type, process id, and message - but not tag!
Anyone know how to get it back? I've tried right-clicking the columns, looking through the menus, etc - no joy.

I am a newbie HTC Desire owner and decided to use it to send an email (which took me ages to write) and now I can't find it! I clicked on a contact link in my hotmail folder and an email editor popped up and i happily banged away until my finger mistakenly hit the home screen button and it disappeared.
I am almost sure there was a note that it had been saved somewhere but I can't find it anywhere! Any suggestions as to it's location would save me loads of time.

I lost my G1 a couple weeks ago (like an idiot) and had to buy a new one. I was able to get back all the apps I purchased before, but not some of the free ones. For example, fbook was on my old phone and it's not in the market anymore.
Does anyone have that app that they can email to me or does anyone know how I can recover my own?

I rooted my 2.2 today with the video up in the sticky.
I am using the Amron_RA recovery.
I didn't do anything else but what the video's told me to do.
Now when I try to go into the android market, it tries to load for a while then tell me there is a network error. I synced all my contacts and can make calls and use internet. Just not the market.
It's working now. I'm not sure why. I've been sitting on this for over an hour waiting and rebooting. I didn't want to jump the gun and post and then have to say "hey, it works now" but it works now.

I recently lost my phone, and had an app on it that texted me the location. Unfortunately I was overseas and didn't get the phone back, but it was a good little app - but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it or find it in the market.
The exact fucntionality was that when a different sim card is put in the phone, it preiodically sends you 3 texts with the location of the phone by cell tower, GPS and another (WPS I think?) format. So you get a rough location and also the phone number of the person with the phone. Handy...
Anyone got an idea of what this app was called? It's not Wavesecure, Lookout (which totally failed to locate the phone or restore the backups - rubbish), Where's My Droid...
As I say, done an extensive web and market search and can't find it anywhere..
