Title says it. Android usually comes with this ability but it is removed from the Droid X. I'd like to know if any applications that perform the requested functionality exist.

That shows a battery with the percent inside it, also below it says if the battery is "good" and on the left shows its temp and other info.

I have found apps that can tell me the time remaining, just not in the top bar of my phone. I'm running a Galaxy S3 w/ ICS.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAs I remember the issue got started from my fault about wipping my battery state. my battery never charged to 100%.I tought I can solve this by wiping when it's fully charged(99%).so I charge my phone to 99% and wipped.but after that my charge percentage got wrong.for example it shows 50%,but it gets off bcoz of low battery.or I plug my charger when it's at 30%.it jumps to 90%rapidly.I have changed my rom.but no results.I tought maybe it's from relation of hardware(battery)and software(ROM) data.so I decide to try my idea.
My idea was:wipe and format all things at recovery.draining battery to 0%(by entering the downloading mode and remaining to it untill phone gets off)then pluging it to charger and let it fully charged.and then odin and installing a ROM.but I have wiped and formated all ghings.but when I plug the charger now a battery icon appears on the screen,but it doesn't get green as it is charging.

I have a problem with getting my samsung captivate to go into download mode, when i hold my volume buttons then put in my usb cable in the phone it just shows a battery charge icon instead of download mode.
View 10 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I read these forums like every day for 2 months (nearly drove my wife insane!) leading up to the release of the X. Stood in line and bought one in the store on the 15th. Had nothing but iPhones until now - loving my DroidX!
BUT
As of right now my battery is down to 60% after having been unplugged (when I unplugged I was at 100%) for 1hr 46m 9s!
It shows display at 93% and cell standby at 7%.
I'm running smart battery mode, auto screen brightness, not that many widgets, and I rooted it and have autokiller running on Aggressive.
Do I just have a bad battery? And if so will Verizon (or Moto) give me a new one?
Anyone know of a widget that shows the battery life in smaller increments, preferably 1% increments.
i have "Batterylife" But it only tells you every 10% which is annoying to me.
I was screwing around with battery usage today and here is what I found as the bottom line. Now this doesn't mean this is the same for you, but I'm sure you all know that. I changed nothing on the evo besides Gtalk automatically signing me in. (No skimping if you would) and I was at a golf club all day yesterday and had perfect signal strength. My EVO went 23hrs on one charge with decently heavy use. When I went back home (bad signal, 1 bar, no 3G) my phone's battery lasted just about 13hrs. Therefore I think TWS is one of the biggest battery culprits. Hence why if you complain to Sprint, they send you a free Air Ave like they did for me and many others.

I decided to go ahead and make the old droid call quality trick of switching to ERV-B, after which the phone resets. The weird part is that the battery came back to 70% after the reset.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am not sure what is going on here. I posted about my battery going down quickly. I think I found out why. Applications are STARTING without my input. I did Advance Task Killer-killed all Apps-I pick the phone up 5 minutes later and nearly all of my applications are running. I did NOT start them-some of them are like BBC News, Fox News ETC. I do not want them to be running like that. Not sure why they are starting up.
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust got a Droid 2 and I'm tinkering around. I saw the "Running Apps" list and its pretty useful if I say so myself. However is it necessary to go in there and stop apps that I'm not using all the time to save battery life? Do apps still run after their closed, because Facebook was running after use. And when stopping apps my phone tells me that "this can have undesired consequences on the app" which scared me a bit. I haven't even done my first charge yet, but my battery went down about 40% in about 2 and a half hours.
View 3 Replies View RelatedGot my nice shiney Desire HD yesterday. First HTC phone, first Android phone. Impressed on so many levels, but also have some questions and one problem.
1. How can I remove apps that are pre-installed like soundhound, talk, stock. The remove option is greyed out.
2. Can I create a sub folder in the menu tree and move like games into one. I have created a sub folder on the home page, but cant rename it from 'folder'
3. My phone picks up WiFi signal at home everytime I am in range. Does this mean WiFi is always on, searching. My experience from my E71 showed me this kills battery. I seem to struggle to get more than 10 hours life from the battery, what gives.
I was unexpectedly away from home, but using the device quite heavily, and didn't have a method to charge the battery. Once the battery had drained to about 3%, I switched the phone off. I ended up needing to make another call. The phone booted, but all core apps returned a force close message. Phone, Maps, Google Account, all the main stuff. Other apps would launch and function with no problem though. I rebooted the phone again thinking there would still be just enough juice to allow a phone call, but while booting, the battery totally failed.
Once I had a change to plug in the charger, all core apps continued to fail, even though the phone now had plenty of power. Even after a battery pull, the same issues continued, rendering the phone pretty much useless. No phone link, no network, nothing. The phone is rooted and I'm currently running Fresh ROM v1.0, so lacking anything else to do, I performed a Nandroid restore from about 2 days ago and that seems to have fixed up the problem. (I did not want to resort to the RUU)
I want to buy the HTC Desire or the Samsung Galaxy S. At the moment I prefer the HTC Desire. It's smaller, feels better and has flash which the Samsung lacks. But when I read the fact that the HTC Desire is very limited in internal memory for installing apps and the fact that you can't transfer a lot of apps to your sd card with the help of the froyo 2.2 update got me thinking again about which phone I should pick. I don't want to buy the phone and later regret that I don't have enough space for apps. That's not the only thing that is bothering me. So I want to ask a few questions.
1: What is the average number of apps you can install on the internal memory (so without SD card) of the HTC Desire if you installed update 2.2?
2: Let's say I use internet 2 hours a day, watch movies, listen to music 2 hours a day and also call people 1 hour and send a few text messages. If I do this everyday will I have to charge my battery everyday or will it last longer?
3: Can you install apple apps on HTC desire?
4: What is the average size of an application?
So this thing just started within the past week. My phone's stock gmail app will show new emails so I look at them and then they are all read, showing 0 new.But when I login to the web browser version, 5 minutes or even later(up to hours later), the web browser gmail is not updating to show that I already read the emails.I'm on JH2. So maybe it is a bug with the firmware?Or maybe a setting got changed but I'm not seeing how to handle the issue.

When I purchased my Droid, the Verizon sales rep told me about an app that would show where you have been...i.e. like if you parked your car in a large parking lot, then you could mark that location with this program and it would show you how to get back to that spot. I thought he said it was called 'Footprint', but I do not see a program like that. Do anyone know of an app that does this?

A few hours ago the GPs symbol in the status bar popped up and its been there since. Usually the icon disappears after I close the app which uses it but this time it just seem to have come out of nowhere (didnt use any app at the time) and it doesn't go away. It is animating so it seems like the GPS is really being used. Since I don't know which apps are using it I can't just turn it off either. Is there an app on the market which displays what programs are currently using GPS, wireless and so on?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy housemate and I both installed 3G Watchdog the other day (Desire and an X10, noth on different networks) and in both cases it shows small amounts of 3G data being used even when the WiFi connection is up and running. I have been at home all day, in good connection with the wireless, but it shows about 3 meg of data traffic. Could 3G Watchdog be misreading somewhere or is the an app or 2 that wont use WAN?

However, when I open this intent, the gps on the device starts and google maps first displays my location instead of the location in the URI. This happens only the first time you open google maps. If I go back to my app and make the same selection, then the correct position on the map appears.I tried using something like this: geo:0,0?q=*business+near+city, however this doesnt centers the map on a position, but in the nearest address.
