View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Meridian to listen to audio books, but I would sure love to find a player that let's me choose when to start listening. Meridian remembers where I left off in a book, but one slight bump and it goes back to zero. Sure would be nice to have it start at "minute 210" or wherever.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI swear I can't find a decent media player that works on 2.2. I don't care for the stock player that much. I want a player that just monitors one folder on my SD card that I can designate. I tried MixZing, but it does this stupid thing where it monitors what I play and tries to play similar stuff from my library. I skip a song and I end up seeing the same song I heard 3 songs ago. It's frustrating. I don't want that feature. Any suggestions on what media play will work best for me? I had bTunes, but it's buggy on 2.2 and it would seem that the developer has no plans to update the app any time soon.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy is the shuffle / random feature so naff? I've got about 500 tracks on my phone / playlist, but it seems to want to stick to the same ones - rarely straying off into the wider list.I seem to recall having the same problems with some computer software some years ago - it's as though when it's looking for the next random track, it only goes up / down 50 tracks, so it's staying within the same area.

Pandora and Slacker are "okay" with sound quality, but I understand the limitations, so that doesn't bother me.What does bother me is the underwhelming sound quality when playing mp3's via the aux input on my car or through headphones. My first generation Zune has far better audio quality and I can't bring myself to put it away just yet. All of my mp3 files are at a minimum of 192kbps, with most of them being 256kbps or higher. Are there any audio players that offer better sound quality and at least SOME level of adjustment of the equalizer? Presets (Rock, Acoustic, Jazz, etc.) are just fine as I'm not trying to tweek until I'm blue in the face. If nothing just yet, I expect an update to offer some sort of remedy. The last firmware update for the Zune did a great job improving what was already very good sound quality.

Ive been playing with the stock MP3 player, and likes the way it intergrates with the lock screen, but I find that it repeats lots of songs while in shuffle mode on playlists ><. I tried a few of the Meridian and Mixzing players, and really don't like the interfaces, and Intergration into the lock screen is a major + for me which neiither of these have. I guess what i'm looking for is something to replace my ipod 30GB (4th Gen?) thats slowly showing its age. That was the most user friendly, functional music player ive ever used.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't think I'm the only one, but I feel that the regular music player has a lot of problems, and I would love it if someone made one similar to the iphones. Is there a better music player app to dl besides the one that 2.1 gives?

View 44 Replies View RelatedI just got a new 8gb memory card and want to dump a bunch of music to my Hero, but the music player seems lacking in many respects (functionally) despite looking nice (aesthetically). Has anyone tried other players that both work well and look stylish? sidenote - I was unable to format my memory card with it plugged into my network printer due to not having an adapter, but when the card is mounted and the hero is connected through usb it is reported as FAT32 in the open window. Do I need to worry about formatting? I wasn't sure if there would be any performance gain by doing so. Its a Transcend 8gb class 6.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWith my Pipo M6 Pro tablet i am unable to get some of the movies to play on at a good enough volume.
I've encountered this problem with windows and have had to down sample the audio in the WMPC settings in order to hear the sound at a good level through out the whole film.
What i would need to do in order to get a good loud playback with movies and what movie player would be suggested? I've just purchased the latest MX Player.
The video closes within a minute of watching it for some strange reason.... Does this on every video i watch.
Hey any good multi-player poker apps like the Zynga one for iPhone you could reccommend?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI badly need a good video player with playlist support and shuffle.
I have one of those cheap Chinese ICS tablets (btw working pretty good) and I planned to use it in my car to let my 17 month old daughter watch some videos I got from YouTube while driving home from our vacation. That is a 7 hours drive and she won't handle it without some entertainment. However I cannot find a suitable app, paid or free
I got so far
- Act Player.. does the job but only on Gingerbread (I have a GB Galaxy S phone). On ICS the playlist feature does not work
- Vplayer - does not support shuffle and after 4th or 5th video starts to stutter
- Mobo player - does the job but does not support shuffle and the little monster is getting tired of the first 10 vids she has to watch all over again every day
Early this morning I d/l another music to try out. It's called Astro Player Nova.
The Nova is a beta app but looks to have promise. It contains several features that I look for and even includes the ever-elusive equalizer!
I use a combination of my Eris' stock player, Cubed (3) and Zimly to accomplish my desire to create playlists, queue songs and have an easy to use interface.
The stock player creates playlists the easiest of any app I've used that can do it, while I love the way that Cubed handles music selection and queuing of songs. Zimly has the easiest and slickest interface of any app I've tried. In fairness to Zimly, I recently found a way to create playlists and queue songs in the app. These features aren't as easy to find or identify in Zimly as within the stock music player or Cubed, but they exist.
Well, I am trying the Nova from Astro and it looks VERY promising! This app allows playlist creation, provides queuing of songs and...wait for it...Wait for it...IT HAS AN EQUALIZER!
This product is still in beta so I'm taking it through the paces, including the equalizer. I have an aux input in my car, I use wireless FM xmitter in my wife's car and I wear headphones when exercising, so I should be able to reasonably assess how useful the equalizer is.
One nice feature of the beta app is that it has a option to send feedback to the developers right from the app. This is nice for those of us who don't have a problem with apps transmitting user data.
I will update this thread as I use Nova more. Also, I'm interested in other opinions from new users.
Am I right in thinking that the Music Player on the Desire is HTC's own?
Is there a default Android player?
I only ask as I think the current one that is default installed on the phone is poor, very poor. I use another app to play podcasts and even with the 'hide podcasts from default player' option ticked, they still show up in the music player.
The audio/music player on my HTC Hero locks up immediately when it starts. As a result I cannot preview any sounds or play any music unless I stream with pandora or something. I have installed another music player app, which is fine for music, but the default player remains the one that locks up, so if I click an audio file to preview it, that app comes up and locks. Is there a fix for this? Can I somehow set another 3rd party player as default?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from a G1 to a Desire.
One feature that's bugging me on the Desire, the default application for Youtube videos seems to be the HTC Flash Player, but I don't want to use this. I would prefer it if it opened with the Youtube player so I can get high quality video when viewing Youtube clips on WIFI - the HTC Flash Player has no settings or option for video quality improvement.
On my G1, every time I opened a link for Youtube (from e.g. the browser or Seesmic), it opened up the Youtube application as the default viewer.
I recently purchased the so called Android TV. When i open a video on stock browser the video plays in the browser itself instead of showing an option and playing through stock video player. I have samsung tab where i get the option of playing web videos through video player. How do i get the same option on my android tv stick as well. MK808 Dual Core Android A9 Mini PC smart tv stick.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery time someone leaves me a voicemail on my home phone number, VOIP home phone voice mail box sends me the voicemail as a .wav file attachment. When I try to play this .wav file the phone refuses, saying "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file".
So, I take it the .wav files cannot be played on Android phones. Has anyone found a workable and simple workaround to this yet?
I have the Motorola Droid and am using the stock music player. I was looking for alittle help finding something better to use...am sure alot of you are using something much better.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAre there any good pdf readers that save where you are up to in a pdf document so that you don't have to try and find the page you are up to every time you open the document. That is the one feature that the standard one is missing (unless I am just not seeing it)
View 1 Replies View RelatedConsidering (heavily!) the Evo but the boss just asked me how well it handles things like pdf's and .doc's and such. We're coming over from blackberries and I'm having trouble finding anything definitive about whether the Evo (or android in general) can handle those things natively. I see that there are apps that do it but come with mixed reviews. Just wondering what your experiences and/or expectations are.
