View 1 RepliesIs there an application for the GMail app for a "send confirm" similar to that of "call confirm?" The call confirm app prompts you to confirm the selection to call, so I am hoping there is one that prompts you before sending. I keep slipping and hitting send before I have completed my emails.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the app you guys use to confirm that you want to make a call? This stems from the fact that its all to easy to acidentally press a contact in android and trigger it to dial a call.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm a bit of a wanna be geek here so forgive me if this is obvious. I just followed the sticky instructions for going from 1.5 to 2.1 root on the Eris. I'm not confident that I did it correctly though. I am wondering if by accident I just simply upgraded my operating system to 2.1 instead. Is there any way I can tell by looking at the "about phone" information if my phone was for sure successfully rooted or not?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI opened ASTRO file manager Menu>More>Preferences and there is a setting to clear the internal caches. I already cleared mine manually through the settings>manage applications so I am not sure if ASTRO clears all the caches on the Eris or not.
Can anyone confirm this?
I can't get "Call Confirm" on my Sprint HTC hero, any suggestions?
I tried installing through this site and through the app marketplace on my phone with no luck.
We are trying to create a listview exactly similar to 'call log listview' of 'contact' application (which is a default one). There is one listview item but two clickable controls.
1. Left one - for viewing call log details
2. Right one - for calling that person
How to create a layout similar tho that of call logs in android contacts?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm not a big fan of the dialer on the eris. Not too impressed with Dialer One either.
What I do like is the dialer on the Samsung Moment. I like the tabs to switch between the call log, contacts and favorites.
Anyone know where I can find one that is similar?
I'm on 2.1 and I still can't get file transfer to work. I'm wondering if it's ever actually been done with an Eris.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am developing a utility and facing an issue. The following describes what i intend to achieve: User will click on "Submit"Button. User will be prompted a confirm dialog box. On "No" , it will return. "Yes" click will take it to a method which does some processing. As processing can take sometime, i want to show loading bar after user clicks "Yes" in confirm dialog box. However, When i click "Yes"; the dialog box remains there and i can't see th progress bar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i rooted with Droid Does rom, because i heard its nice and fast and what not. So basically the only problem i have with it is this.
When on a call, the proximity sensor doesnt work, so the screen goes black. And when i press the end call button to turn the screen back on it just ends the call. Is this normal? Or a known issue?
I have two questions:
1) Before the update, there was a sound that indicated when the call was ended. Anyway to get that back?
2) Has anyone figured out a way to change the end button behavior that was previously controlled by the Spare Parts app? I would like to end button to go home and then go to sleep but Spare Parts can't do it under the new software. Any ideas?
Not getting SMS from QIK to confirm / any suggestions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen you want to make a call - you press the phone button and the phone dial buttons pop up and on the top some names from the contact list. You can roll down to get the full list of contact names to select from...
My problem is that this dial list is too sesnsetive : it is enough to touch a name and puff it starts dialing right away. This way I started call by accident people that I did not really want to call. Can this smart dial be made less touch sensetive. Or better: an option when the phone will respond "do you want to call this person?" or something
I have an Eris and my recent call log on my phone displays my outgoing calls as Unknown even if they are saved in my Google contacts. I have the outgoing calls set to go through GV option selected on the phone and I'm not sure what's going on. The contact is displayed for a second and then reverts to Unknown. When I add the unknown number to my existing contacts it works and displays properly, but when I call the same number back from my contact list, it shows up as unknown. My incoming calls and missed calls all show up with the proper contact info, so it seems to just be a problem with my outgoing calls. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used the Clockwork, un-revoke tool which is suppose to root your phone. My intention was not to root my phone but to run recovery. I wanted to downgrade so I went thru the motion and it said everything was done/successful. Now, I don't want to be rooted. I am thinking of exchanging my phone for the Droid X.
I went into the terminal and did some root things but they were unsuccessful like "whoami", tried to unmount file system, etc. I am running "sudo <whatever command>" and "su" so it fails. I assume I'm not rooted but why would unrevoke app say I am? I am struggling to downgrade using Linux (different topic) but for now, I want to confirm my phone is not rooted.
Is anyone able to confirm?

For some reason on most mornings since I got my Desire some 12 days ago I get a notification stating that the phone has been unable to confirm my time zone. I get an option to confirm my time zone as BST (GMT +1) and the phone is happy again...until the next morning.
My settings have the phone automatically checking the date and time. The greyed-out "choose time zone" option correctly shows GMT +1 / BST. I switch my phone to airplane mode overnight, so that I don't download updates unnecessarily...and don't get my sleep disturbed. Could this be the problem?
The strange thing is that this has not happened every morning, although most mornings it has. But my brother who lives in the same house also has a Desire and he has rarely had this problem. Any ideas?
I just flashed a cyanogen rom, and i'm trying to use Ti Backup to restore my apps and data. However, for every app that Ti backup attempts to installs, I have to confirm that I want to install the app, as if I was installing it from the market for the first time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy does the text entry always ask me to confirm the last word of a sentence that ends with something other than a period? It's kind of annoying (using Handcent) to have to press on the spellchecked word before moving on or sending a text message. Sometimes I can just hit send, and sometimes it just blinks at me until I confirm that, yes, I did want to end my message or sentence with "Why?" or whatever happens to be at the end.
Annoying. Anything I can do to get rid of this?
Can someone confirm a picture taken with the stock settings in the camera can now be sent via sms?
On my end, it will show compressing the pic, the recipient never receives. (No I am not connecting via wifi.)
I've been trying to show a "Do you want to exit?", type dialog when user attempts to exit an activity. However can't find the appropriate API hooks. Activity.onUserLeaveHint() initially looked promising, but I can't find a way to stop the activity finishing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
I dont remember this in 1.5 but when I place a call and it connects, the phone vibrates. Checked all settings I could think of and all vibrate is disabled and it still does it. Is this a bug? Or am I missing where to turn this off.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is really annoying and I can't figure out how to get it to stop. When I'm in a call and get an email or text message, the phone vibrates as it normally would- causing the person on the other end of the line to hear a really annoying noise.. Is there a way to turn off notification sounds/vibrations when you're in a call.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am a new user and this could have been some bizzare newb thing I have to look out for, but this was odd. I was talking to a friend (friend #1) for a while (no headsets or anything, just holding against the ear). Near the end of our 30 min talk, I hear another voice. Thought it was just some racket in the background, hung up on friend #1, and on the line was friend #2. Friend #2 says 'who was that you were talking to, I heard the whole conversation.'
That freaked me out. Anyone accidentally do this? I doesn't seem that all the buttons you'd need to do a 3-way call would have actually be done in sequence with me not knowing and talking on the phone. What if this happened during a business call or something. I felt like I was in that Seinfeld episode where Jerry and George are on the phone and the girl on the other end of the phone heard the whole conversation.
