View 11 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a VoIP application and I wanted to know if it is possible to do the following with the Call Logs content provider -
I want to add new Call Log records for the VoIP call along with the call logs for the regular call. How can I add new records to the existing Call logs content provider?
I want to add custom fields to the Call Logs like a session ID and SIP address(name@domain) field. How can I customize the call logs database?
Is there an app that anyone knows of that allows you to restore your call logs from a WindowsMobile format, or is there a format that I can transfer them into to be able to restore them on Android?I searched and searched and could not find anything on this.I have many cases where there are SMS threads going back several years, some containing invoicing information, and I would like to not lose them.Same with the call logs the history may be important.I've transferred them from several WinMo phones in the past, so have built up quite a history.Don't worry about size or having to put them into a format, I can worry about that, but how can I load them into the Android? Is there maybe a forum or thread that has the file formats for Android? An application that "merges" the data into Android?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it by anyway possible to write to call logs database?? I mean i want to add selected numbers to the call history. I tried searching the tutorial on net but couldn't find any. Though 1 thing is for sure, IT CAN BE DONE. coz i have seen lots of applications online, which restore call logs, so i guess we can modify the call history database somehow(but how exactly is not clear with me).i already read this post but it happens to be posted a long time back.

View 5 Replies View RelatedCould anybody point me to the xml that gives a layout similar to the Android email app? Basically it's a list view, with 3 columns per row. The 1st and 3rd columns are fixed width, and the middle column expands to fill the view.
I understand how to customize a list view, but I cannot figure out the xml required for those rows.
When I push the real-mechanical button with the phone-symbol on it, I'm taken to the Call Logs screen. This is not sensible. I expect to go to either Contacts or to the Dial Pad, but not Call Logs.Is this configurable in any way?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm backing up things with TB every time I update/change ROMs. But last time I didn't want to restore everything and forgot to restore the call logs. Now I have a backup with the old call logs and the new call logs. Is there a way to restore the old call logs without deleting the current ones?
Maybe I could backup the current logs too, restore the old ones, make a backup with another app, restore the new logs and do an incremental backup with that app and then restore everything... But I don't know of any app that can do incremental backups to call logs.
I'm looking for free spy apps which let you access call logs, sms, gps locations.Remotely and secretly.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI deleted my call logs Monday. I needed space on my phone. Didn't think I'd need those logs anymore. But we were expecting mail (snail) from a travel company through which we are taking a trip to Oregon and it hasn't come. We don't know their name (forgot) but I had a call from them and made a call to them a week or four before I cleared the call logs. If there was any way to get them back, I could get their number.
My carrier is Solavei (on the T-Mobile network) and they do not yet have detailed call logs to see in Activity online and it's all online. I can't use them to find the number.
I would like to explain me better. In android once you receive an email on gmail you would get notified almost in realtime. How does it work? Thinking about an answer i had 1 idea: Android is connected to a gmail server which does not send anything untill it has new mails This solution , which is the only one i can think about, is a little bit expensive, in term of battery consumption. Do you have further ideas? If not do you know some opensource server that will accomplish my idea?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to create a customized ListView (or similar) which will behave like a closed (circular) one:
1. scrolling down - after the last item was reached the first begins (.., n-1, n, 1, 2, ..)
2. scrolling upward - after the first item was reached the last begins (.., 2, 1, n, n-1, ..)
It sounds simple conceptually but, apparently, there is no straightforward approach to do this.
I tried out Flyscreen the other day and found its card-based flipping through rss/facebook/twitter/weather to be very fluid and pretty. The trouble is, I don't really want that as my lockscreen (besides which, it doesn't seem to truly lock the screen). Does anyone know of a similar app that creates a widget I can flip through in a similar way on a homescreen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I go about creating the following layout in Android?
I want a "header", that is, a header that stays the same at all times. The only thing that should change is the area below the header.
Think of it as a webpage, where the content-area is where its all happening =)
+--------------------+
H E A D E R
+--------------------+

C O N T E N T

Sure, its easy enough to create a LinearLayot, add a View on the top and then another view below that - tada! But what Im after is how you "set up" or design the project so its easy to just change whats in the Content.
What I really would like is to be able to "swipe" (see here) the area and then just "roll in" a new View/thing in the Content-area, but keep the same header.
To create the following xml layout for the row of my listview

I'm looking for a stock app or widget that handles contact communication similar to HTC Sense. merging facebook, sms, email, etc. Does anyone know of anything in the app store?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy application wants a functionality of picking a contact from the phone contact, I have achieved this using the following intent Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, People.CONTENT_URI); startActivity ForResult(intent, 001); I wanted few more functionalities
- An option to create a new contact from the pick list, similar to the one which is available in inbuilt Launcher appliation
- Set of contacts should be filtered from display i.e already selected contacts should not be displayed
- Filtering of contacts should be based on the phone number i.e a contact might have two phone numbers associated with and wants to filter out the phone number which is selected I guess above can be achieved by implementing my own pick list using contacts provider, is there any other way without implementing the new pick list

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying create a scaling layout for an Android application. The whole screen should contain two areas. The top 3/4 of the screen should be a MapView showing a certain area. The remaining quarter of the screen should contain some textual information to certain places shown on the map.
So now I'm wondering what is the best practice to archive this layout the 3:1 ratio of the screen partition? Is there a way to set this ratio in the layout xml file or do I have to calculate and set it manually by code in the corresponding activity?
I want to create a ListView which contains a RelativeLayout which contains an ImageView and another Layout (Linear). Linear Layout Contains some TextView.

I went to send a text message today to a friend named Jamie and when I scrolled through my contacts and click on Jamie I see two numbers. One is for Jamie and the other is for James. The problem is only Jamie shows up in my contact list. Luckily, I had my old phone and I was able to see which number belonged to who. I tried deleting both contacts and re-adding but the same thing happened. Can anybody else confirm this or is there some setting that I am unaware of (ie. group similar names)? Not a huge deal just curious.
