I am now trying to pass a property value argument to my instrumentation test runner, something equivalent to the eclipse vm argument -Dcom.myApplication.myProperty="String" The value ("String") of a property (com.myApplication.myProperty) must be defined in the command line. I tried to bend my command line to make this work, changing it for example into :

but didn't manage to make it work correctly. Is there a way to make this work ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are currently working on an instrumentation test suite which runs on our build server, but while the tests pass on a dev machine using a normal Android emulator, the builds fail on the build server since there we only run a headless emulator with the -no-window flag.The failure occurs when trying to invoke the InstrumentationTestCase.sendKeys() method to programatically open the options menu.We also tried to let the instrumentation test app and the app under test share the same Linux user ID using android:sharedUserId and run in the same process (android:process -- we weren't sure if that was already the case), but still no luck. Does this mean it's currently impossible to run instrumentations which contain key events on a headless emulator, or are we missing something?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI guess ur doing it correctly.While running the test cases already provided by the PVcore,one can only see the logs and not the output on the screen or the speaker. This is what my experience says.Other people who worked on this can confirm.
How to execute the test cases defined in /external/opencore/engines/player/test/src in the donut code? I have seen the PVplayer documentation , but that does not provide any information. I am trying to run an SDP file in the PVplayer.

I tried to run a unit test once, that's what I always want to do...
I'm writing an Android JUnit test and want to copy/reset a test fixture file (it's an SQLite database file.) If I were within the main application, I know I could just place the file in the assets directory and use getResources().getAssets().open(sourceFile).However, this API appears to be unavailable from the ActivityInstrumentationTestCase2 class.Is there an easy way to copy a file over from the testing PC, or should I just keep a fresh copy of a test fixture on the device and copy it over a temporary file?

Instrumentation TestRunner on device emulator-5554 Collecting test information Test run failed: No test results I have tried a variety of different things, messing with the basic TestCase class, or the TestSuite class, or a variety of other options. I tried to just go for the most trivial example because I'm really still trying to learn how this works.Whatever I try, I see this error.

Google writes about a unit test. Is this really a unit test? A Unit test will not integrate all classes and will not test in his context. So my opinion is it is not a Unit Test but an Integration Test.

However, I'm having trouble finding the menu that will launch any one of these activities from the ApiDemos application. I just want to be able to run ApiDemos and hit the breakpoint in one of these Activities so I can understand how the Instrumentation class works. proper navigation in ApiDemos to launch ContactsFilter or LocalSample?

This is what I want to do: My actual test is an apk file on android device, and I write a TestCase or some instrumentation for that which runs on host side. I trigger the test using adb commands or some IDE.I am able to refer to some examples which does above.Now what I want to know is any way of getting results back using any api available in TestCase or such class.This result can be any string value or an object too.
1. can I use TestResult for this purpose ? I expect it ot be similar to function calland return value from function.i.e. on completion of test I should get back the result in a structured way probably defined by me.Is this possible at all.
2. or return value is always going to be put to stdout? or logcat?
3.how do I parse and collect stdout or logcat prints into a file?
any input would be of great help.
I have separated java code from Android code and have two projects. Android dependent on Java project. Now i want to get the memory trace of the Java project on Android. For that I have created Androd Junit Project implementing Android Instrumentation, and a dummy android project dependent on my actual java project.(as I only want to get memory trace of java project on android).Problem is when I execute Android Junit project, and give a reference of dummy project removing java project dependency, all tests(dummy) run fine.But when I run junit project, with dummy android proj keeping dependency on java project, my application crashes.I get an error message like : "Process crash" not getting any error message in logcat. No clue whats wrong with code.Any help is highly needed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a project (that compiles and runs in the emulator.) I have a test project that tests part of this project. This test project also compiles with no problems, but when I try to run (test) it in the emulator, I get a NoClassDefFoundError exception on one of the classes my test class tests (I hope that made sense!) when it starts to run in the emulator. This is coming out of the adb log. I looked in the bin directory (of the test project) for the missing class, but could not find it... Should it be there? I found no reference (apk, etc) of the project I am trying to test either in the test projects bin directory. How does the test project get the classes it needs to test against (in the classpath, I assume.) How do the tested classes get moved to the emulator? I did try running the app before testing, so I know it is installed and runs correctly. BTW, I am using netbeans with the nbandroid plugin.

We are able to run instrumentation tests of Android from the command line on Windows by launching: adb shell am instrument -w <package.test>/android.test.InstrumentationTestRunner. This gives us good results. Using the same architecture, we are unable to run the same in Kubuntu. We have the same setup in Kubuntu. Can someone let us know, if there are packages with same name.. Then what package will the adb shell point? How will the emulator connect with adb shell from cmd line? DO we need to do any changes to do so in Kubuntu?

1. I want to know the behavior of activity for the cases where onStop and on Destroy were not called like low memory situations.
2. I was registered my handler in on Create() and unregistering in on Destroy, what is the behavior if other thread sends messages to the registrants after the activity was killed by android without calling on Destroy. I know that those handler were not removed by GC as they are still referring by the thread.
3. Also suggest me to handle the above situations.
As i said we NEED otterbox cases for sprint prefable for the Htc evo 4g i hate my crappy bulky case that i bought for 40$usd at best buy. anyone know of a case with a extended batters in the case like for the iphone? or a thin case thats thick up top to protect the lens and show the htc symbol.
