Who studied the way to load in maps in google maps? When we move the screen of google maps, the small maps will be loaded in quickly and pieces to pieces. I want to know the loading-in way or materials.

I am developing a simple maps application that displays map in street mode. I want to display street name and a snapshot when a particular street is selected. Is it possible to get the street snapshot as is displayed by the native maps application using android APIs.
Also on native maps app when we select the street a 3D view of the street is shown. How can I add this 3D street view to my app.
For some reason I cannot get my first maps application to work. I have gone though the full process of getting the MD5 fingerprint for the debug.keystore, registered for the key on the website, put it into the xml file. Even had changed my computer's locale to US English. I also signed the application with my private key and pushed it via ADB to the emulator. All attempts so far resulted only in the grey Google Maps background with the tiles not loading. JAVA_HOME environment variable points to my JDK file. Not sure what else I can do. Even upgraded from SDK 1.1 to 1.5. No improvement. I am really stuck here. I am running WIN XP, Eclipse ganymede, SDK 1.5 r2, with the latest ADT. I have worked out how to export kml files from Google Maps on the PC.
It would have been nice to be able to save routes in My Maps (maybe you can, but I don't see how).
Also, is it possible to build a route with multiple destinations in Google Maps/Navigation on the phone?
For my CS bachelors I am doing a Senior project using android and google maps.My vision was to do a (relatively) simple Dijkstra shortest path using google maps road data. I was going to add elevation change along with 2D distance. I am doing well playing with maps in android but I am completely stumped trying to access google maps data in any sort of searchable form.How would I go about accessing the data for say intersections of roads (lat/long) in a particular area?There has to be a way to pull that data in some sort of tree form. It seems like it may be possible with kml?Any pointers would be awesome.I want my paths to follow roads but If i cant this is going to turn into an orienteering application fairly fast.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am an avid outdoorsmen and I have downloaded a few different gps apps to my droid. Like My Tracks, Oruxmaps, Trekbuddy, Geobeagle, and so on. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to download an offline map to put on these apps so that I may use the gps feature when I have no signal. Can someone please help me out with all of this? I'm about to go crazy here.

But although it seems to compile and export it fails; can someone sanity check that its not just me this fails for and any hints as to if its a quick thing to fix, I've been prodding it with try/catch for the last 2 hours to no avail.

I use the google code from devloper.android.com I use that application but in the emulator it shows only the crossed lines not the map so is there any settings in emulator for displaying maps

Is there an a Google Latitude application that I should have or do I access everything through Google Maps? When I go the www.google.com/latitude on my G1, it offers me the option of "launching" Latitude but it just takes me to Google Maps. From there, I cannot see the locations of my Google "friends" (who have agreed to show location), neither does my own location show up on the Latitude homepage on the web (I have settings turned to "detect my location automatically").

I can get user Account token from Android AccountManager API, how can i get the related email info from this AuthSub token? i've found no appropriate GData API so far
Why should i do this? i need to make sure the token and email are paired to avoid a fake token which not related to the email account.
The Wife is up town now getting me the HTC Hero. I've just watched a vid on the internet where it says I need a google account. Ok, I signed up but what's it for? What do I do with it? All my google applications like Gmail, Maps, Play,Google Plus are working fine in WIFI.But when i try to refresh or update these application thro Airtel 3g,i am getting No Connection Error.

I'm using the latest version of Google Maps on JB 4.2.2 [Nexus 4]..I noticed that I cannot edit the names of my locations in "My Places" in the phone app. So I used Google Bookmarks (google.com/bookmarks) from my PC to edit/rename My Places. However, the names do not sync or carry through to the Google Maps app on the phone. The names in the app are still the generic names, coordinates or street names.
Is there any way to change the names of My Places and get them to sync with the phone app? Really baffling!
Three times in the last week contact info has disappeared from my google contacts/phone (Incredible). Twice, with different contacts, the home phone numbers just disappeared from both the phone and my google account. Last Saturday I entered a completely new contact info for a friend (incl. a picture) and on Sunday the contact was gone both from my phone and my google account. I always enter this information on my computer via google contacts and then it does get successfully synced to my Incredible and is available for a while.
When the contact disappears it's gone both from my phone and my google account info, it doesn't show in "all contacts" either - it's gone for good. I have created a groupd called "New Friends" where these contacts were placed. I belive they are still also automatically part of "My Contacts". It's been easy to notice the disappearance since I only have a few contacts in this "New Friends" group. I worry about this happening, esp if it's not easy to notice. I've seen other threads with this type of problem over the years when I searched, but there doesn't seem to be a solution for this rather serious problem.
When I initally got my HTC Hero, I created a google account using my gmail address.In the meantime I have changed my gmail address and now I don't know how to change it on the phone.Therefor it keeps asking me to log-on, but to the wrong e-mail address.Please, help me to change my Google account so I can refer to my new gmail address and hence start receiving e-mails on my phone again?

what exactly does it mean? I googled it and tried the clear data/cache of google play/google frame and it did not work.
I have also deleted then added back my gmail account and it did not work.

Ok,so this problem is getting really annoyed for the past 2 months,my Samsung android phone simply doesn't connect to google plus,that means my google play doesn't load.My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Young S6310.When i start Google Plus app,its simply stuck at Connecting...but after some HOURS,it's says Cannot connect to servers.In google play store,the main page loads quickly,but when i try to search or select an app,its simply STUCK at the spinning circle,i leaved it for about 4 hours loading,but still nothing. The download manager isnt turned off and i restarted my phone and cleared data from google play several times. tl;dr : google play doesnt load neither google plus.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using an android smartphone(galaxy y) and didn't have any issue until Thursday(20/9/2012) . google play is not loading in my laptop(connected through broadband) , nor on my phone (connected to internet via wifi ) and i have another laptop which is connected through a modem. On both the laptops when i go to google play it just keeps loading for a minute or two and then shows "webpage not available" On my android when i go to google play it says "no connection" . I have tried restarting the phone but it didn't work.
