Android :: Import IPhone Backup To Droid?

So recently I accidentally jumped in a pool with my iPhone in my pocket while on vacation. It's showing some signs of life and has working well enough for me to be in communication with the world, but overall it's more or less fucked. My contract with AT&T is up, so I jumped ship to Verizon and my HTC Incredible is arriving today. The phone stopped booting last night, however, so I have no way to access my contacts other than the iTunes backup I have on my computer. Is there any way to import these contacts into Android?

I have recently ported over to the HTC desire from the iphone.
I use a mac at home, so i dont really use HTC sync, but i would be prepared to install a windows version, on my mac if it was really worth while.
Does using htc sync, work like making a complete backup of your phone ?.
The reason i ask is because, i had a disaster earlier, and had to do a reset, in turn having to reinstall everything & stuff, screens/ favourites etc.
When new versions of android are available, do you always have to go thru the process of reinstalling all your stuff again.

I am implementing GTalk sample application by refering some book But they mentioned the following imports import
com.google.android.gtalkservice.IGTalkSession; import com.google.android.gtalkservice.IGTalkService; import com.google.android.gtalkservice.GTalkServiceConstants; import com.google.android.gtalkservice.IChatSession;
But when i am importing it is giving me error the import can't be resolved. I tried those above imports for the following targets 1.1, 1.5, Google api, 1.6.Google api, 2.0, Google api, 2.0.1,Google api, 2.1, Google api No where the above imports found I am unable to import above things.

I'm trying to use some widgets under com.android.internal.widget from my app. I found some basic apps like Settings use those widgets, so I think there is a way to import those widget into my app, but I can't find.
I'm using Eclipse under Windows XP, meaning that I have sdk only. To do the import thing, do I need a linux environment? I mean whole source code?
If I have the source code, how can I do that?
One more question: There are several activities in basic apps, such as ConfirmLockPatterm in settings. I want to use that activity from my app. I mean start that activity from my app. Can I do that? Since that activity doesn't have any intent filter, I guess I have to explicitly specify the name in Intent, but since I can't import any of those activities, it just doesn't work.

I'm developing an application and I want to use android.text.util.Regex.WEB_URL_PATTERN as the pattern for the Linkify. But, as I have notice, I cannot import android.text.util.Regex for some reason.
Why so? Is there a way to workaround this?

I have the root app Titanium Backup. When I root my friends' phones, I like giving them all my root apps with a quick transfer of my SD card app backups from AppControl.
BUT, I have never been able to find the backup file for Titanium Backup. I realize they can just download it from the Market, but where I work I get no service so I can't download it for hours for them.
Does AppControl or even Titanium Backup itself actually back up Titanium Backup? It seems almost like they skip over the APK because I can never find any backed up APK files that have the words "Titanium" or "Backup" in it. I've never been able to find the file!

I DLed Titanium Backup, but it wasn't obtaining root access. I read here that I probably need to update to a newer version of BB. After a bit of a fight, I finally managed to get BB 0.4 onto my Droid. I figured I was safe b/c I have Lookout, which also backs up data. Yeah, it backs up contacts and pix, that's it. So here I am w/ a nice, shiny new rom, and a completely wiped phone.
Now, I know my old info is still there. I know I could just recover into my last version. But then I wouldn't be on this rom. Is there any way for me to get that info on here, or do I have to do everything manual? Or could I restore the old version, and not need to do a wipe when flashing the new rom?
Man, no matter what I good I start to feel about myself w/ what I've already learned from you guys, I'm quickly reminded that I'm barely scratching the surface.

I've had my Eris for a couple months now, and initially came on this site and learned how to use double twist to import my Itunes music onto my Eris. Recently, this has not worked. Something about having to use droid sync on my computer and telephone. I downloaded HTC Sync onto my computer and cannot figure out for the life of me how to use the thing. It tells me I need to insert my Microsoft Office XP Small Business cd, I do not have this so I cant do that. Please, someone please tell me the easiest way to import my music onto my phone? This is very frustrating. I certainly am not the most intelligent person when it comes to this kind of thing, so if anyone has a solution to my problem, please be sure to include minor details. I really appreciate any input.

Earlier by Eris just lost all my contacts, all the ones that Verizon transferred over to my Eris. All that is left now are just the phone numbers from people that have left text messages but those who I do not have a recent call history with are gone. Is there any way for me to regain those contacts without having to re-enter every one of them all over again, or possibly without having to go to Verizon for them to import my contacts?

When a group message is sent between my co-workers, who are all iphone users, and myself (Note 3), one person in the exchange does not receive the text. This is not the common iMessage issue that was plaguing me when I made the switch from Apple to Android. This is specifically affecting one iphone user. When I send her a text individually it is not a problem. The other iPhone users don't have a problem receiving or sending to me.

I'm trying to get my google contacts not only to show up in my phone's google address book but my phone's address book, so I can use VZW backup asst, which only backs up from your phone's address book. I can't find import/export addresses. The VZW guy told me to send contacts to sd and import them... can't find any way to do that on the X.

I'm just getting started with mobile development, and after considerable searching I'm still confused about sending a message from my iPhone to another or an Android.For instance, in building a simple Tic-Tac-Toe game, if I want to notify the other phone of a move, what is the best way to do so? Wifi, bluetooth, 3G? And how? Many methods seem to point to communicating through a web server, but I'd rather send them directly from phone to phone if possible.

IF someone has to develop the same application for Android and iPhone, is it more difficult to develop in one platform than on the other? Does it take more time?
Lets think about the average app. Lists, text , buttons, fetch information from the Internet. Person has same experience on both platforms.

I've got an iphone app and I'm looking to port some of the data-layer objective-c code to a scripting language which can also run on an android phone. Any suggestions on what to use? I'd also like to be able to push new scripts to the app for bug fixes. Not sure if this is against the iphone SDK agreement or not.
