Dec 3, 2010I am very happy with my X10 Mini Pro. I am a fan of Sony Ericsson Phones for years I had a W995 IO still have it and like it very much. But people this X10 Mini Pro is a wonderful device. I had to get used too it. But now after two weeks fine tuning the phone I am very happy with it. I am still in doubt if it needs a hardware button for starting and stopping a phonecall. I wonder what other user4s think about this?

Dec 2, 2010I'd like to use my X10 to keep all of my contacts' postal addresses in instead of the tatty old address book I carry in my handbag(!) I didn't fancy typing them all into the phone, so thought I would use the Sony Ericsson sync and put them into the pc first via the PC Companion sync application, and set up the sync to transfer them into my phone. I have tried a test run adding only a couple of addresses to my contacts on the pc, and adding one to my phone, but when I do a sync, the addresses don't transfer either way. I know that the actual sync is working because I added photos too and they transfer....... I must be doing something wrong that is easily rectified?

Oct 10, 2010While I -am- enjoying it to a degree, I am getting bloody tired of needing an apostrophe, clicking the "12#" button, and having it put an automatic SPACE as soon as I push it, which requires me to backspace, then add apostrophe, then back out to the letters. I'm a gal who can type pretty damn fast, even on a phone, so this is really ticking me off since I'll look up several lines later and see a catastrophe of misplaced spaces in my words before apostrophe. How do I make it stop this entirely frustrating behavior?

Jul 24, 2010Am now onto my second Sony Ericsson Xperia phone, as I am unable to compose a new SMS message. ALthough I have imported all contacts from SD memory card, and they appear in my contacts and if somebody is to call or SMS me their name appears but when I go to send a new message no names appears just lets me type their name but does not allow to send the text as there is no number?
I really like this phone and do not want to have to get a 3rd one or change phones altogether.
SIM card does not work effectiviely either. SOme numbers come up with a search but I almost have to type the full name - cannot just enter say "D" and all names appear under that letter.
Vodafone and Sony Ericsson are unable to provide any further advise as I have completed factory data resets, un and reinstall software updates. Sony Ericsson has said they have not had another feedback like this?

Finally had to pull the battery and power it back on. No issue since then, but with Moto's Razr and V60 screen issues, I'm hoping this won't be a problem.

Nov 1, 2010These are the current problems I experience with my X8.The alarm clock sometimes disappears when set after going in standby. This is the most annoying issue as I use it as an alarm clock to wake up. Going back in and out to the menu of the alarm clock without changing any setting "fixes" the alarm clock. It appears again on the home screen then.There is a big security problem with the pattern security. Sometimes when waking up from standby by you see the correct pattern for a couple of seconds, so there is no way to protect your mobile from getting used.Sometimes the wifi just doesn't want to connect to a wifi network, turning the wifi on and off for several times seem to fix this after a long while.When starting to type, in a text field most of the times you have like 4 second timeout which is really annoying.Sometimes the phone hangs and only taking the battery out will get you back started.

If I fill out the address field on my phone, then it doesn't complete the relevant fields on the web site. The address fields on the web site are different to the phone and fields on the site are not supported by the phone's address book. Oct 27, 2010I used an application killer and killed a lot of apps some of which I wasn't sure what they were for. I've also configured app killer for "Auto Kill". Whilst I was doing this X10 lost its power. After that it just wouldn't turn on. I can feel the vibration when I press the power button and it feels as if it is switching on but the screen is always blank. I've tried taking the battery out and putting back in and then reseting by holding down the right and left silver buttons and power button all at the same time, but this didn't work either.

Suddenly after having it worked smooth for 3-4 days, I started getting a very strange problem which I was not able to search anywhere in forums or in the help manual.My address book search is not searching any contacts by the contact's names. It is just searching the emails, it's a huge problem for me especially when trying to send SMS to anyone, I can't go and add recipient by searching, I need to scroll the whole way down to that contact, which is irritating.
Otherwise the phone is quite nice and I am liking it very much. Especially the slide out keyboard is really usable plus unlike most smartphones, it's really small in size and performs most functions. There are some minor flaws but most of them are going to get fixed with the SE's much awaited software update for bringing in the Android 2.1, no doubt I am also waiting desperately.

Jul 2, 2010I was aware of the poor customer reviews of the x10's battery life, but it's turned out to be much worse than expected.
I will take the phone off of charge at 8am and ensure that no tasks or apps are running, not use the phone throughout the day, then by 3pm the charge level is around 30%. Often, if I don't start charging the phone at that point at work, the phone will run out of charge completely by around 4pm. I check throughout the day and tasks are not running, so how is the charge being lost so quick?!
This problem is not getting better: I read customer reviews saying that the battery problem improves after around the first month, but my case is the opposite - it started to get even worse after the first month!
I am also having a problem with adding contacts to the address book - all of a sudden it seems that I cannot add new contacts. I will add one contact, go back to the address book and see the new contact being displayed in the list, but when adding a second new contact both the first and second new contacts disappear. I do not have a problem with phone memory, I have tried saving to both SIM and memory, have tried backing up my address book in case that makes a difference, have switched the phone off/on again, but all to no avail. I have tried adding a new number to an existing contact and the new contact seems to disappear. It goes without saying that I have read the x10 instructions on this subject (and it goes without saying that I make sure to press save/done when adding the new entry).
It's got to the point where I am starting to regret choosing the X10. On the face of it, this is an excellent phone, but two relatively simple problems are ensuring that I feel like I own the poor man's smartphone (dare I say it, I wish I chose an iPhone now).
I checked with both my network operator and the shop I bought it from - unfortunately I am outside the 28 day initial period (I am in the UK), so the only recourse offered to me by the shop is to give me £20 to buy either a new battery or to buy a new cheap pay as you go phone so that I can return the handset/battery to SE. The problem with both options is that I am not confident that it will resolve the problem.
Anyone else had any issues like this?

Oct 18, 2010I'm getting this problem where I can connect to WiFi the first time with no problem but once I disconnect and the phone sleeps, it can't connect to the network again and says "Unable to Start WiFi", I can't even get to Wireless settings because it can't start the WiFi.
It's the same story with Bluetooth. It'll work once.
If I turn the phone off and then on again, it will work once more but only ONCE before doing the same thing again.

May 6, 2010My X10 doesn't like charging to 100%, whenever I leave it charging for long periods of time (ex. overnight) the battery will never be at 100%, it will stop at around 95%, then it will stop charging (the icon still shows charging but the battery life slowly goes down). The only way I can get it to 100% is if I unplug the charger for a few seconds, then plug it back in, then it will charge up full.
