Is there anyone who can tell me how to save contacts in my SIM card in my G1. I could not do it. Even I can't save the contacts from the Call Log menu. This kind of basic features are useful but I could not find it. Please help me out.

Should I create a specific folder in my project to save to and if so how do I save the file. Or should I make it to where when you click the Save button it checks for an SD card and if there is and SD card create a folder (if one isn't already there) and save the file in the new folder or save it to the phone? If someone could explain the most efficient way of saving files for my app and how to save the file from the web server I would greatly appreciate the insight. Any tutorial links would be awesome.

If I save the image with a outputstream, I can save the image but my program and android's gallery can't see the new image. If I save the image with MediaStore.Images.Media.insertImage, I can see the saved image but the problem it's that this function save a little image called thumbnails which I don't know what to do.

In call history, I clicked the little file picture and added their name, saved it as a google contact, and saved it. If I go to People, the name doesnt appear. So I went to the People app, entered their info, made it a google contact, saved. Still didnt work. Even manually synced my google account. So then I changed the "view" to show every option and slowly ticked off each box til I realized that only if "show auto gmail contacts" is ON does my new contact appear. It was also "linked" to 3 other contacts (the same one that I kept adding over and over wondering why it wasnt appearing). So, of course I do NOT want everyone I've ever e-mailed in my contact list, so the question is, how can I add/save any contacts and make them appear in People?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use gmail. I get attachments. I am trying to find a means to be able to save these attachments directly to SD card. For example,
jpgs/png/gif, not a problem. docs/xls/txt, I can peview, but not save them. problem is if I get a 3g2 file, I cannot preview or save the file. Sometimes I get videos from client's phones and I can nor longer view them remotely. With my winmo phone, I was able to at least detach them to the SD card. Bottom line, is there ANY way, app or otherwise, to just simply have a "download" button?
I now have a Moment. next week I'm getting an EVO. my question is this. can I take the sd card from the Moment and transfer the Apps I have saved to the EVO and use them on the EVO ...... or do I have to re download all of the Apps from the market again? I have them all backed up with "on the Fly Backup"

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the getExternalFilesDir(null) method to save to the SD card. Saving and reading from the SD card is fine. The problem I am having is that every time I edit anything in Eclipse and rerun the app the data on the SD card is deleted. I know that saving to the directory returned by getExternalFilesDir(null) will allow the files there to be deleted when my app is uninstalled but is there a way to turn it off for just app updating? Is this only cause I am doing it from Eclipse and it won't delete the data when the app is updated from the market?
