View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I see an app that requires the use of this information, 9/10 times I do not download it. I see a lot of games on the marketplace that require this information and I just don't see the point in a game where I toss paper into a trash can needing to know my location at the time I am using the app. Do any of the rest of you see any red flags that turn you off of certain apps despite how cool they may seem?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working on an Android app that uses the gdata-java-client to download documents for display only. So far I have an application that authenticates with the services and displays a list of user documents. When the user selects a document another query is made for the documents itself. A request for txt, html, rtf and doc files works well, however when I request a spreadsheet in either .csv or .xsl format the result is unexpected.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've switched from Windows mobile to Google and I love everything about it BUT I can't build spreadsheets! Something I used a lot on my old phone ... even my old dinosaur smart phone could do spreadsheets. Is there any apps out there. I've tried Gdocs doesn't do spreadsheets. Going to spreadsheets on the web from Google also is not what I need . Quickoffice doesn't do bunk. I'm searching the market and the web. But I have found nothing that will let me edit formulas. Come on somebody gotta be a spreadsheet junkie like me....
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this has most likely been discussed many times. But I am looking for a decent email widget.
At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am considering buying an Andoid phone, and I have checked out the features on my wife's Hero. On such a business phone.I expect a Contacts/PIM that can organize all my business contacts by their companies. I would say that Company as a PIM entry is the most elementary feature of a PIM.Today I have a Windows phone (WM5), which has a great PIM for business contacts, with email address, business phone, switchboard phone, web address, company name, business address, private address, etc, etc.On Andoid Market I find nothing similar. It is unbelievable! All I find is a Group feature, which is something completely different. This is a show stopper for me.How can Android work for business people? Does anyone know of a PIM with full business card features?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way I can get access to the following information from the cell. I know that it uses a Qualcomm MSM7201A chip. I know qualcomm unleashes a boat load of information such as: Pilots-Channels PN offset Neighbours Searches PN Codes Power Control-TX and RX Slot DRC Signal Noise Ratio Carrier to Noise Ratio Energy to Noise Ratio
So the question is can I get access to all this information and are there APIs from Android that I can use.
So far the closets I have come is in telephony/PhoneStateListener telephony/NeighboringCellInfo telephony/CellLocation telephony/TelephonyManager
Is there a possibility in Android to view the Cell Info (the name of the cell base, base station etc. - ex. the city name) in Android? Whatever - an option, an app or a widget?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSomehow I changed the settings on my phone so that the predictive text has started prioritizing the names in my contact info when auto completing the text. For example, if I type "thr" it won't suggest "the" but "Theo". I recall changing a setting somewhere in the phone that enabled this, but now I want to turn it off and have no idea where this setting was buried away.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got an update 2 days ago. Now when I go to phone list and touch the contact, it only shows phone and message. The info or edit information icon is gone. I can't figure out how to get to that information to edit the information or view it. Does anyone have any idea?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking for solid information about these phones/phone (I believe that these names are the name of a single phone). I am waiting for to see if I should wait for this phone or just buy the Droid.
Another thing, why is HTC waiting to really advertise this phone, when the Droid is getting all the attention?
I have this element in my layout XML:
<FrameLayout android:id="@+id/FrameLayout01"
android:layout_width="320sp" android:layout_height="380sp"
android:layout_gravity="center" android:background="#99CC33">
</FrameLayout>
And I want to get its position on the screen with getTop(), getBottom() but I want to do it only once.
I was trying to do it on the onCreate(), but those methods return all 0 as response.
How would I use the SQL DB info and such to get info about contacts and text messages?
