I want my Android Screen (320*480) to be split into two 2 screens each of resolution 320*240 which should mimic the "split Screen" feature of MS Word .How can this be achieved.

Wanna to split a screen for my app with two LinearLayouts. What parameters should I use to make exact splitting in two equal parts - first LinearLayout on the top and the second one is just under it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to put 2 listviews into my layout. The problem is that I don't know the size of each listview in advance. The first listview could have a few items (0, 1, 2 up to roughly 10) and the second listview could have many items (up to 100).
I tried to set the weight of both listviews at 1 but it did not work:
=> If the first listview has only 1 item and the second one 99, you don't see the first item of listview #1 => it's shrinks so much (relative to listview #2) that you don't see it.
So I'm thinking now to split the screen in 2 equals parts (no matter what/no matter the size of each listview) and put the two listviews in each part. Of course it needs to work on any device ... so how do I capture the device screen size, divide it in two and force the listview size to fit in each half of the screen ?
Has anyone done that already ? Is there another option to show two listviews of different sizes on the same layout (should I use a scrollview in some way ? => when the user is reaching the end of the first listview, the second listview appears => is that possible ?)
I would like to use my tablet to replace the navigation interface in my car.It would be nice if I can split the screen 3/4 to 1/4. for the navigation and Pandora.

Sometimes the screen auto-rotates when I don't want it to if I angle the phone slightly. I am constantly toggling it on and off. To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop? It is kind of a pain to go through the settings each and every time. I would much rather just hit it easily on my homescreen.

The problem is when I press ENDCALL button, it does not going into Screen Lock view. And I have download the source code of "cupcake" & "android-1.5" & "android-1.5r2" & "android-sdk-1.5_r1" version from Android's GitWeb. The feature of lock screen does not work on the emulator. But it works on the offical SDK version. I don't know what is happened.
Does anyone has an idea of how to split the screen into two? Is it possible for me to run an application in one screen and another app in other screen?
View 11 Replies View RelatedDue to a audio issue VZ had me reset my X, a pain for sure. The phone worked but I couldn't figure out how to turn-off the irritated screen lock as it was before the reset. I think I've found the answer on the Moto website it says "

I noticed that when i type a text msg that the screen seems to dim slightly and then come back. Is this a result of the auto brightness feature?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has noticed this, it might not be a big issue (like the MT, 65k display instead of 16M, android 1.6, etc.) but this small details make an average phone into a great phone. My questions are:
1) Rotating from landscape to portrait mode works fine (but sluggish) as long as you rotate the phone to your left, but it doesn't work if you rotate it to the right or upside down, is this hardware or software related?
2) In the same topic why is it so sluggish to rotate from Landscape to Portrait? (again is it SW or HW related)
Was playing with the touch to take feature on my DI, when suddenly the camera started displaying flashing red and blue screen. Not sure what happened there. Battery out resets did not fix it. I did a complete data reset and it returned to normal. Anyone else experience this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a widget that will disable all sound (including system sound) and put the device into vibrate mode, similar to how the physical silence toggle works on the iPhone. I've tried the Beautiful Silence and Beautiful Vibrate widgets, but they do not play nice together on my Droid X: When I toggle silence, I cannot toggle vibrate and vice-versa. I then moved on to AudioManager, but that involved too many steps for my liking; I just want a quick button press. I am aware of Quick Profile, but that seems like overkill for what I'm trying to accomplish, though I haven't tried it yet. Currently, I'm using Sound Manager, which does exactly what I want, but as a shortcut and not a widget. This is almost perfect. The problem I'm having is that some times, when I click the shortcut it launches the Sound Manager app instead of it's normal behavior: launch the Sound Manager app, change the sound settings, and close Sound Manger in an instant.

I think these are for baseline HVGA screen.
