View 4 RepliesI have a free app that has 64% of ratings at 5 starts, but still has 9% of ratings at only 1 start, some of them even said that my app is an "useless garbage", so I think maybe I need to leave a reply to those users to explain something or answer their questions. So are there any ways that we could do such thing?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI did a quick forum/google search and could not find much info, but I was wondering if constantly installing and uninstalling apps had any negative effect on the phone (such as leaving random registry things, data, etc. behind).Perhaps a Linux guy can shed more light on this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if android apps leave traces of themselves behind when I uninstall them (similar to how when you uninstall a windows program you'd most likely have orphan files or directories, registry entries and maybe a .dll here and there). In other words, can I install apps on my stock unrooted ICS phone being confident that if I don't like it I can just uninstall them and my phone won't be slower, or have less space because of it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to give my app a little boost, and gave it 5 stars on my phone. Strangely, I cannot see my own comment, even on cyrket.

I would to enter in some comments into the layout XML files, how would I do that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhere exactly is your name coming from when you post a comment in the Android Market. I can't recall entering my name anywhere on the EVO where the market can pull it up from. What if I wanted to post an anonymous comment or use a pen name?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just noticed a new link in the developer console for comments. When clicked, it shows the comments the users have posted. No way to answer them but at least you can see them outside the device.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed over some time that some comments are disappearing and not just old ones but ones that have recently been placed, is this a bug?The comment that I noticed was placed on 6/3 but doesn't show on the phone, it only shows on some sites that index the market.
View 3 Replies View Relatedevery time I have looked at the market comments for my app over the last few days some more comments have disappeared. This is whether I look on the phone or on the developer console.Unfortunately the comments that Google has chosen to 'lose' are my most favourable comments leaving several "This app suxss" type comments by the usual Neanderthals who like to be abusive. I have checked with a helpful user who left a positive comment and they have not removed them themselves or de-installed so what is going on? It is seriously hurting my downloads/sales and the impression that potential users of my app see when they look on the market. I have emailed Google but no reply yet.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to allow users to enter in a comment and or rating for my app from directly within my app and have that data posted back to the Android Market? If so, what would the code for that look like if I used an EditText view to allow user input? If not, then is my only other option directly linking to my app in the Market (i.e. the user clicks the link in my app, or a button, and the Market app launches with my app page displayed)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI posted a detailed comment about typos in Android documentation several hours ago. My post is nowhere to be seen. Why did Google Groups hose my post? Maybe Google doesn't care that their Android documentation contains typos.

What is the exact link to the page that lets users post comments about an app? I want to have a pop up in my app that allows the user to leave a comment but I can't seem to figure out the exact URL to the comments page.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi was wondering if there is a way to automatically update a comment in the android marketplace. I'm not a spammer, but I have an issue for the dev and I want it up top so he see's it, and it's been an issue since day 1. Won't go into much more detail other than that, but if anyone knows how to do this please help me out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to android domain . Can u please let me know . is it possible to access or display comments left by users about the application using the api given in the sdk if 'yes' please fwd link where i can study further..
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I use [url]...., users can write comments underneath the articles using disqus.
Starting Tuesday, the comments are displayed in the same area as the articles, causing everything to be unreadable. (In CNN articles you have to click on Show Comments before the comments are loaded. But in listverse they are always there.)
I have Android 2.3.7 on an HTC Inspire phone. I'm using the stock browser.
P.S. These articles etc. look okay on a Windows7 computer. BTW, 75% of newssites that have comments, use disqus.
About one-fourth of comments for my widget on the market are "Doesn't launch" with 1-star rating. Are you guys having the same problem? I've already included the instructions at the top of app's description but doesn't help. Here are the solutions I'm thinking about but don't know how to implement them yet.
1. Having a default activity showing a help page. But this would clutter the app tray with another useless app icon. Can I hide the app icon from launcher after first launch?
2. Launch widget picker activity from the market open button. But this doesn't tell users how to add widgets later on. Is it possible to set AndroidManifest.xml to open widget picker as default activity?
I need to post some text to a remote server over HTTP, this server in turn puts these comment on a Wordpress page. I am still waiting for interface details. Is it possible to post comments directly on a Wordpress page from an Android or Java application? Links to relevant documentation, tutorials etc.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently planning to develop an application which will allow users to share comments (similar to tweets, facebook status', etc.) which can then be viewed by other users. This is only a small part of the app, however it is the one part with which I'm having trouble with.
My issue is that I'm not sure how to go about designing this. I've read up a little about SQLite and creating databases, however I'm not sure this is the route I should be looking at. Essentially what I need is to have an area where users can select a category from a provided list, post a comment to this category and be able to view any other comments.
Is there any method to leave some info after my app is uninstalled? For example:file, database, setting etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI know this has to be really simple, and I'm just not seeing it, but how do you leave a review for an app? I've tried going to Android Market and I've tried looking through the Market app on my phone to see if I can review apps there, but I'm just not seeing anything.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally made the jump. Rooted today, after much study, and seems to have gone well. Backed up, and ready to go with a ROM, ROM manager installed. So, after untold hours of reading and digging, I cannot come up with a ROM that I can pin down as a good, solid starting point -- or better yet, one I might stick with for a while at least. They are so many. Did much reading on the earlier Fresh RO, but keep gravitating back to the newer ones like Cyanogen, Bugles Beast, etc. But I cannot find any comprehensive talk about these Roms -- it is just scattered and piecemeal. So thought I would ask those who have actually downloaded and flashed these ROM as to their opinion. I use my phone for the basic services. I need solid phone, MSM, Market access and installation, etc. I do not need blazing speed -- much rather stability and function. Where to begin? What say folks?

View 7 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else just hating the hardware buttons for Menu, Home, Back, and Search? I can barely one-hand with the touch screen as it is, but the hardware buttons are making me change my whole hand position to press them. Plus, the cover I have on it comes right up next to them, making them even more difficult to press.
I kind of wish they were Droid-esque touch buttons instead.
