How do I get my contact card/id of a Android phone? eg: the owner of the phone
I am trying to store a contact in the SIM card, but I found nothing for it in the G1 phone. Then, I assumed that it may be because G1's application doesn't use the API for that storage, so I tried the following code, ContentValues values = new ContentValues();

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to set my default contact card in Android. When I open the contacts app (People) there is an entry for my Facebook account that says "My Contact Card" but I don't really use Facebook. All my info is in an entry in Google contacts. How can I change the default contact card? Also, this might be related. When I text with my girlfriend her picture shows up but mine does not. All contact entries for me have my picture so I'm wondering if it has to do with my default contact card.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC desire. I have been setting up my phonebook and adding photo's to all my contacts. This means when i receive a text i get to see a picture of who has sent it, but when i reply i do not have a picture and can not add one. I have gone into contacts, viewed my name card and tried to edit to add a picture but there is no option to do this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI could not find this particular problem. i just switched to 2.1 and had a bit of trouble restoring my contacts with my backup pro. long story short, i imported most of my contacts back into gmail, did a sync but my contact card is inaccessible. it just reads loading with the working circle icon. i realize its not at the top of the list of problems but i would like to have all my info there in the event of losing the phone or otherwise. anyone else encounter this issue or have i popped?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo my desire has a 'My Contact Card', and my contacts (gmail contacts synced to phone) also has my gmail contact with all my info. Is it possible to merge these? I cant find a way. Seems silly for the gmail personal contact to be on the phone and for the phone to hold a seperate one (used when i send texts etc?).

Solution: Searching for an APP or maybe even a program for MAC for bulk editing my VCF card.
Just got the Desire... set the contact card up but want to edit it, anyone know how? Holding it down does no good (the contact card in the phonebook).

Is there an app that will allow me to locate my CSV file and overwrite my contact list? Also, for future reference, how can I force my contacts to backup on gmail?

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is one of the few major complaints I have with our phone. When I want to send my vCard (or any contact card) I can only choose from Bluetooth, MMS (costs money) or the "HTC" Mail apps. Since I use a Gmail account I don't have any other mail clients configured. Am I doing something wrong? Have I missed some setting that will allow me to send a contact card via Gmail?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I go into People -> My Contact Card, my birthday is showing with the little facebook "F" there. I don't want my birthday showing (in fact I don't want anything from facebook integrating with any part of my phone).
Under Settings -> Accounts and Sync, I have facebook set to not sync.
When on My Contact Card, I click Menu -> Edit, and beside Birthday it says "Click to add". When I click the cross beside that, that entry disappears, but when I click Save, the Birthday is still present.
At the top of the Contacts section is a "My Contact Card". Now I think this has something to do with Facebook contacts which I do not sync with. Has anyone figured out how to delete that if were not going to have access to it to edit? I kind of like things working or have themgone........

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to android OS, when i synced my contacts with google, i started adding the facebook profile to each contact. The problem is by mistake i added the wrong profile to the wrong person. How can i change it or remove this facebook profile from this contact card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedProbably an obvious way of doing this, but I can't for the life of me find a way to edit/delete my contact card on the phone. Neither clicking or long pressing on it yields an edit button. Is it buried in a menu somewhere?
View 8 Replies View RelatedUsing an Eris (2.1) and handcent app. I'd like to add my pic to the display and was prompted in handcent settings to use a pic for the "account picture" from "my contact card". So...where is "my contact card" or where do I set up a contact card that includes a pic?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI saw a previous thread (Changing my contact card picture) where a similar question was never quite resolved. I have the same issue except that my contact card has automatically synced to my facebook and I would prefer to change to a different picture that is not my facebook profile picture. There's no option to do so under people->my contact card and if I go to a picture in my albums it only lets me set the photo for a contact that is not me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my Droid 2 FedEx today, and am getting her all set up. I was using an LG Dare before. I had an micro 2GB card that had all my pictures, music, videos and contact photos (picture ID pictures).
It was easy going from an old Verizon phone to another old Verizon phone because the file structure was the same for all the SD formatted cards (MY_PIX, MY_FLIX, etc...).
In looking at the 8GB card that came w/ the Droid 2, there seems to be no such structure. There are directories, (.android_secure, Android, logs, and LOST.DIR) but I am not sure where to put my videos, pictures, etc. Any thoughts?
May i know how to move contact number to Sim card from phone?anyone know?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo, the moron at the Verizon store who was activating my replacement Droid decided to import or retrieve contact data from my broken droid / SD card....he didn't know that it handled all the contacts from the cloud. As soon as I entered my gmail login it imported all my contacts and so, now I have contacts with duplicate data and some contacts that are now just phone numbers. I tried deleting the contact data and resyncing but it appears to be grabbing this duplicate data from somewhere. All my contacts are CLEAN in gmail when viewed online. But if I look on the phone, when go to edit them each person has 1 contact with multiple google contacts merged together. The problem is, any time I go to search contacts or enter a contact in email or create a contact shortcut, all of them are appearing twice in the selection list.
I went through each contact and split the merges, essentially deleting the dupes, but they are still appearing multiple times in the search/selection lists....and when I resync the dupes come back. I don't see anything that looks like contact data/backup on the SD card and don't know if that is something that can be deleted from the phone's memory or not?
[I know I can deleted all the dupes, but my concern is that I did this already and they came back. Is this data stored anywhere else that it might be pulling it from again when I sync?]
Here me out for a minute. I think it's great that I can have my contacts all safe and backed up to my gmail account. However, when I use my gmail e-mail, and I send an e-mail...it automatically adds them to my contacts.
Am I weird for wanting my phone JUST to have peoples numbers in my contacts? I don't need people's phone numbers who live in England, because I'll just e-mail them if i need to ask them anything. Maybe I'm just old school and so used to my non-smart phone.
Anyway, I want to put my contacts onto my SD card and have People read from that. Is that possible to do?
The thing I'm scared of doing is that IF i unclick sync google contacts, all the contacts on my phone disappear. Did this one before by accident.
