I am new to android OS, when i synced my contacts with google, i started adding the facebook profile to each contact. The problem is by mistake i added the wrong profile to the wrong person. How can i change it or remove this facebook profile from this contact card.

For my closest contacts, I use the People widget that shows a "big" thumbnail photo for each contact. Most of my contacts are set to display their Facebook profile photo, and yes I'm one of the ones who has complained to HTC about it not updating.
However, a couple of days ago I noticed my Dad's picture had gone missing. He's not on Facebook, but his photo is synced to his Google Account picture. But now there's just the standard grey "no photo" icon. He definitely hasn't updated his photo, it's still there in Google Talk.
Just today I've noticed that 4 more people on this small contact list have also lost their photos. Weirder still, those contacts all have their picture set to Facebook ...
I've just run a "sync all" on my Desire and only one of those contact photos came back. A few still show the "no photo" icon.
Even weirder, is that other contact photos on the list did update to the most recent Facebook photo! Weird. I'll keep track to see if they update automatically. I don't have high hopes. (and my own profile pic still hasn't updated from a month ago)
(the sync all has also reset heaps of my contacts names back from their Google contact name to their Facebook or Google Account name.
I've seen this feature on my Hero, but, have never used it. What happens when I do this. How do you UNDO this if you don't like what it does?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get Facebook profile pictures assigned to internal phone contacts, but cant get it to work. I installed the recently updated Facebook app, at the first launch it asked me if I want to sync my contacts, I selected Sync with exisiting contacts (later I selected Sync all since first option didnt work) but still profile pictures are not being fetched. I can now see facebook contacts in my main contact list, and I can link them with my phone contacts (manually), but profile picture is still blank. When I click the View profile (facebook) link of a particular contact I'm taken to my profile page instead of the person i clicked on. And when I select Edit and go to Facebook tab there is an error with an exclamation mark with the message "Unable to edit SNS contacts on phone".

How can I have my x10 mini pro display my contacts' chosen picture (as saved in the phonebook) and not the contact's picture from facebook? I don't necessarily want to separate the contact from their facebook profile.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want my contacts to have the facebook profile pictures. Most of them update, but i noticed some dont, which wouldve been bearable if a couple werent in my favourites (people) widget.
I've used SyncMyPics and it seemed to work fine, but all the pictures are now using the gmail picture which is blurry (fixed if i deleted the pic in gmail so itll used facebooks higher quality). but heres the problem, when i go to the contact to pic a new picture, the options are google and facebook, but the google is the updated picture, and facebook is still the old one. I want to use facebook too because its much better quality.
It would seem that when someone updates their profile pic in Facebook now, I lose their picture in my list of contacts.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded my Orange Hero to 2.1 and linked all my google contacts to the facebook ones.
However, it also appears to have imported details like phone and email address from facebook which for most people are completely out of date. ( I haven't update my facebook contact number in years =/ )
Now when I write a message, I'm presented with 2-3 copies of each contact with different phone numbers.
I'd like to keep the Birthday and profile pics that facebook imports, but not any of the contact details. Is there anyway of doing this?
I saw a previous thread (Changing my contact card picture) where a similar question was never quite resolved. I have the same issue except that my contact card has automatically synced to my facebook and I would prefer to change to a different picture that is not my facebook profile picture. There's no option to do so under people->my contact card and if I go to a picture in my albums it only lets me set the photo for a contact that is not me.

I imagine that if I want to change it, I can just assign the new one to it, but at now, I want to remove the pic so I can use the person's facebook profile picture as the contact pic but cant seem to figure out how to remove the contact pic.

Aside from rooting your phone, is there any way to remove the facebook, twitter or some other stock apps? Don't use either services and would rather have the space for something else and clean up my apps list a bit. I'm running unbranded 2.2

I only want to sync contacts manually to their facebook account and not some random people (who I only added for networking) to appear in my phone contact list.

I've seen a few threads on here about this but none with an answer to my question.I want to keep facebook on friend stream but i want to remove the contact sync option.Numerous people have said to remove the facebook for htc sense option in settings->accounts and sync.then to re-add the account and quickly untick the "sync contacts"box. I've done all this except for the last bit as there is not a check box.I can only imagine that the app has been updated to not include a check box.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI just got my Desire a few days ago, and so far i am very pleased with it (coming from a Nokia N95 8GB). I do find the contact handling somewhat counter intuitive however. For example , i have some contacts from facebook for which i have no other contacts created, but i need to add additional information (in particular phone numbers). I do not seem to be able to add information to a facebook contact. Do i really need to manually create another contact, then manually give it the same name and then link it to the facebook profile in order to have a place to add the phone number?

I have linked the facebook profile to my contact. I can choose "facebook" for the contact's photo, but I have no control over which photo is displayed.
Can I:
a) select a specific facebook foto?
b) save a specific facebook foto from the contact's facebook pictures and set the saved photo as the contact's picture?
After having linked all my contacts with their facebook profiles. their profile pics came up on their contact info. HOWEVER now they do not update. for e.g when they update their profile pic on facebook. my desire wont update it to their contact info on my desire. i have syncing automatically and manually through settings...but no luck. what am i doing wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedALright, so I just went from the original samsung galaxy to the htc desire and one of the first things I tried was to sync contacts with facebook. I only want existing contacts to be synced so I chose not to use the facebook for htc sense app as it will sync all facebook users and add them to my contact list (correct me if I'm wrong). So I tried to sync with facebook for android but nothing happens when I chose the account. I get prompted to sign into the app, which I do, I get into the app like normal, but no contacts are synced. Returning to the accounts settings page I cant even select the facebook. It is there to add but when I hit it nothing happens. I did sync with the official twitter app with no problem which I noticed with the samsung galaxy (running froyo) should be the same procedure. Kinda strange issue if you ask me... anyone else encountering this problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that one of my friends on their contact picture has lost the little Facebook icon overlay and that syncing with Facebook wont bring it back.
Their contact picture has been replaced by another blurry pixellated picture.
Further to this, I notice that the actual contact picture in Facebook for HTC Sense is borked and pixellated. Anyone seen anything like this before?
Hows best to update the photo's linked to facebook in contacts? the sync doesnt do this....

Because when i set some picture to contact on google contacts or from phone photo album, after a sync the picture of the contact looks UGLY!! It has some crap resolution, dunno why, but the facebook contact pictures are still in great quality. So how should i set the "not facebook" contact pictures so they will keep high resolution and will look good?

Whenever i sync a contact to Facebook, for some odd reason it changes the number for that contact. The number i have for the contact matches that of the number on their Facebook account.
I.E. 07890123456 on my phone, 07890123456 on their Facebook account( fake number, don't be silly ).
However, as soon as i sync the account to my contact on my Desire, the number changes to 447890123456.
try to call the contact and says numbers wrong, clearly because its suppose to be +44, not just 44.
have tried to edit number but still says 07890123456, and still wont work when i change it to +447890123456.
Anyone able to help?
