Is there a bedside mode with Android that will allow you to silence all notifications except the ringer? I want to hear the phone ring in case of emergency, but need to silence email, text, etc.
Blackberry allowed you to set up profiles to do this. Can't find it with Android.

I have just migrated from a BB Bold to an HTC Desire, and this is my question:
In the BB Bold, one of the functions it had was that you could switch your phone to the 'Bedside mode', which would put the phone into a 'Sleep' mode and it would not allow any calls or messages to be delivered until the phone was taken out of the Bedside mode, and then you could see your messages that have been queued and waiting to be delivered.
In the Desire, does the 'Flight' mode carry out the same function or not? If not, is there another function that can put the Desire into sleep mode, keep the Alarm function active, and queue the messages for delivery when the phone is taken out of the Flight or Sleep mode?
I click on the HTC clock, then the little moon button to put it into bedside mode. From what I recall the clock used to move around the screen to different places but would always remain on.Now after about 15 seconds the screen shuts off and I have to unlock it again. Whereas before the screen would always be on and wherever I would touch it would wake up without having to unlock it again. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

I have a Captivate I was running with out of the box software. I installed a profile timer to control sound (mainly because of the "fully charged" notification going off of a night). Since I installed it, I have not been able to get my phone out of Silent Mode. If I long-press power to get the Phone Options menu and Silent Mode is enabled, then I disable it, I get the Silent Mode icon in the notification bar and Silent Mode in Settings is checked, but shows as "Off" in Phone Options. If I turn off Silent Mode in Settings, then it shows as off in Settings, but "On" in Phone Options.
Because of this, the phone is always silent. I did a hard reset, but that did not straighten it out. I've also tried a couple of different widgets to force it to ring or vibrate, but I'd like to actually get the problem resolved. I even did the upgrade to Froyo 2.2 to see if that would fix it, assuming a whole new firmware would straighten it out. It worked until I restarted the phone, but then went back to the out of sync Silent Mode settings.Does anyone have any suggestions?Thanks, Mark
I need to have a bedside alarm clock that shows tome, etc. the desk cradle function would be perfect but you cannot bypass the screen shutdown function. is there ant way I can bypass? I have tried a couple of free apps for alarm clock, but so far they all have too many quirks.
View 7 Replies View RelatedUnless you want to pay $29.95 for a dock to rest your phone in while it charges, you can get all of the features with out the dock. Just install the Dockrunner app in the market. Its free. It will give you the alarm clock, weather report and options to play music, and slide show. Once you activate that screen it will lock you out from everything else on the phone. So you go to your Notifications panel and select Dockrunner again to deactivate it and it will send you back to your home screen again.

So example when at work its quit, but when its time to leave work it comes back to normal by itself without me having to remember to put it into quite.Thanks guys, been looking, but can't seem to find what I had. I checked all the literature on the DI that I could find and don't see A2DP listed anywhere. I searched the forums and found some info regarding the Hero and Motorola Droid, but nothing on the DI. I did read where the Hero with Sense UI had some issues with 3rd party apps and A2DP, but that the native Sense UI music app worked fine. Can someone enlighten me on A2DP and the DI please?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Google contacts as my only/primary contacts on my HTC Droid Incredible. However, I also linked several of my contacts to their facebook profiles. When I created these links, the profile picture (in the phone) changed to their facebook photo. I knew how to change it back to the photo in Google, and did so for each contact. However, every time my facebook friends post anything, the profile picture in my phone changes back to the facebook photo. Is there any way to stop this annoying behavior?

I miss more calls because of this than any other reason. A co-worker has the Moto Droid and that thing will vibrate so hard the phone will move across the desk. Thats what I am used to coming from BlackBerries. I would like to accomplish this without using a 3rd party app if possible.

My Treo when locked, would only show the time, My name and a telephone number. In the case I lost it, some good samaritan could contact me when they realize the phone was useless with out the PIN.

Two issues that are bugging me...
1) Is there a way to avoid notification sounds to take place during media playback, mainly music player, without having to change my sounds profile to silent, or vibrate?
2) All of a sudden my phone is taking a little long to load SMS conversations. Is there a way to fix that? I feel as though my Snapdragon shouldn't lag when I open a text.
I've searched and cannot find this topic. Does anyone know how to get Google Navigation to enter "Car Dock Mode"?It's mentioned on google's site. Is it for the Droid only at this point or other "dock aware" phones? Google Maps Navigation for mobile

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor those of you who don't know...this is how you can boot your incredible into safe mode (newer version). 1 start your phone wait for the white screen 2 hold down your volume down button with one thumb and use your other thumb to press the circular button and the menu button at the same time. 3 hold this until your phone buzzes (then its ok to release the buttons) 4 you phone will start in safe mode...you will see "safe mode" in the lower corner.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone is having the 100% Awake Time issue and I can't figure out why. I've uninstalled a few apps that I thought could be the problem, but that made no difference. I then changed to a completely empty screen layout to remove any possible widget issues, still the same. Last night I installed SystemPanel so I could get a better idea of what's going on and now I'm even more confused. It doesn't show a single thing that's eating up CPU time. Under Battery Use it shows Android System at 43%, then Cell Standby and WiFi at 14%. Is there something in the Android OS that is screwy?
I'm at a complete loss on how to continue trouble shooting this. I'd really rather avoid a complete reset of the phone, but if it's the only option I have. I'm going to go through and uninstall basically everything I can today to see if I can find the culprit, but any ideas would be great. If it was an app though, wouldn't I see it in SystemPanel? Here's some shots of my use this morning. I was using it a bit, but there's obvious spots where the phone should have stopped being "awake".
Well I just downloaded the Dolphin Browser on to my Incredible today. I noticed that playing videos was actually better with putting it in the Iphone mode. In fact I cant even get it to load with the android mode, and the desktop mode while it has better quality because its loading the actual site video, the video seems to skip and frame rate. So sound comes before the lips or vice versa. On the Incredible the best video loader by far is You Tube player, that seems to be the best and I can even put videos in high quality mode.
I wish I could play every video with the you tube video player as it is the clearest and sharpest video player out of everything that plays on the web. the 2nd best browser for playing videos is the skyfire browser, but that for me only works half the time and can seem like a pain. Anyone got any suggestions to making the video work better that would be great, coming from the moto droid to this phone for video reasons, am very unhappy with so far. I hope in the future that they can fix this problem of mine. Its just so pix pix-elated.
Fellow droid incredible users, I am trying to root my phone with unprovoked and i have the 2.2 system on my htc incredible. I'm unable to find "debug mode" in the settings and i need it on to apply the unprovoked root. Please help me find debug mode.
