I recently broke my phone, so I got a replacement and now I cant remember how to hide those shortcuts along the bottom, i've done it on my other phone but I remember it took me a while to find it in the settings.

Nov 24, 2013I've been using various ROMs (including various Xposed modules) in the past and most of them allow me to auto-hide the status bar.But whenever I swipe down from the top and the statusbar is displayed, it resizes the entire content on my phone.
What I was looking for is a statusbar that will show up above the content, like the immersive mode in KitKat but for JB so it doesn't resize my content but overlap it.
I know there are some apps that give you this kind of auto-hide status bar but it will only work in fullscreen apps, so I tried to make everything on my phone full screen (using expanded desktop) but it doesn't seem to work...

Example. I have a Nexus 7 in my dash and leave navigation running. When I turn my ignition off the charger turns off however the tablet doesn't because I left navigation on.

May 15, 2010So I just got the Swype beta, and I have a small problem. If I ever decide to cancel typing (say I have text input open and the Swype keyboard is covering the bottom half of my screen) the keyboard stays open and I have to tap home again for it to disappear. Are there any workarounds for this or is it simply because its beta? I noticed that even if I revert back to the default Sense keyboard it does the same thing.

Sep 16, 2010I'm using Xscope browser and picked the option to remember username/password on websites that I visit. However, my password has changed but it still tries to auto-populate the website fields with these values. Anyone know of a way to get it to stop so I can edit it with the new values?
When I contacted Xscope's developer, he mentioned that it wasn't any settings within the browser and that xScope doesn't store or manage it. The android webkit does. Anyone know what this means and where do I go to edit sites' field values the browser remembers?

Aug 12, 2010I'm working on an app that launches the browser activity to perform a Twitter OAuth authorization. This process uses a callback url which will re-launch the activity that started the browser activity in the first place.My problem is that the browser pages remain in the history stack and when the user then clicks back from the preferences activity that launched the browser in the first place, they don't go back to the app's main activity, but instead are brought back to the browser. I've tried adding flags to the launching intent to prevent history and reset on clear, but it doesn't seem to work when running on my phone, only on the emulators.

When I link directly to the file on the iPhone and the user taps the link, the video player is loaded and the video starts playing. Jun 7, 2010I have spent the last two years with the Instinct. Now with a couple days on the Evo I would like to comment on a couple of big improvements. I liked the Instinct and it was flawless as a phone. The Evo with its large screen blows it away. Colors on videos and in photos on web browsers are way better. I am a webmaster for a site that is very photo intensive and my opinion is that the Evo colors are very accurate. This is no small thing as our customers need to see the products clearly if they are to make buying decisions. Text in the browser will auto adjust when you expand the screen and I could read articles without my reading glasses which I need for almost everything. These two things make the web actually usable on my phone now.

Sep 16, 2010Coming from an iPhone to the Fascinate, I've noticed that the pinch to zoom feature in the browser auto-fits the text after the zoom in. On my iPhone that didn't happen. I can see where auto-fit would come in handy, but there are times I don't want the layout of the site to change. I just want to zoom it a little - I'll happily finger scroll to the left, right, up, or down to read something.
Is there a way to disable the auto-fit on the zoom-in for the stock browser? I know there are other browsers out there, but I'm asking about the stock browser.
Perhaps this is a feature coming in 2.2?

I go to my apps screen and see it there, go to edit, move it back down and save it. Then when I navigate through my phone a few times it moves itself back where my apps are?? Sep 16, 2012Somehow the contacts widget that used to be along the bottom of my screen has disappeared.When I hit applications (circle with six dots in it), then select widgets, I find the Contact widget.When I select and hold, it takes me back to the original screen, and if I hoover over the regular application background or the bottom dock, it makes a green rectangle, seeming to indicate that it is ready to be dropped. However, after I drop it, it just launches Contact, then the widget is gone.
