View 4 RepliesThanks Google released 2.2 source code.
In this code-InstalledAppDetails.java
It shows how android 2.2 does the "force close" function.
code:........
However "forceStopPackage" method is not in ActivityManager class.

Is it a interneal API?
It is called "tag apps" and it is free. I was able to rename my icons on the home screen. Better cut does not work with froyo.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have Bugless Beast 0.7 (2.1 build) and have downloaded the Flash 10.1 apk. Before I install it, I wanted to ask: Has anyone tried to run it on a non-Froyo base and if you did, did it work or did it hang up?
View 8 Replies View RelatedDid a quick search and didn't see anything- Running "Fix Permissions" in rom manager results in "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands"
Reinstalled busybox via titanium backup, didn't fix.
I know others have posted with this general problem, but I've read the Android developer page on the topic, as well as several forum and blog posts (such as http://androidblogger.blogspot.com/2009/09/tutorial-how-to-use-led-wi...), and no matter what I do, the LED light will not blink. I've tried it with DEFAULT_LIGHTS:
String ns = Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE; NotificationManager mNotificationManager = (NotificationManager) getSystemService(ns); int icon = R.drawable.icon; CharSequence tickerText = "Test 1"; long when = System.currentTimeMillis(); ... Notification notification = new Notification(icon, tickerText, when); notification.defaults |= Notification.DEFAULT_LIGHTS; final int HELLO_ID = 1; mNotificationManager.notify(HELLO_ID, notification); ..................
I get that some of you are strongly convinced that task killers are of the devil. But the simple fact is this. When I got my Evo I was told to download ATK by the rep at Sprint. I put the widget on my home screen and used it like a dope fiend. And maybe I was self medicating, but my battery life sucked, and using it made my battery life suck less. Then, along came froyo, ATK stopped working, I read all the forums and got rid of ATK. Now my battery is worse than its ever been. I want to be able to look my apps and have them remain dead until I say so because its MY phone. That being said are there ANY task killers that work with froyo?
View 11 Replies View RelatedIt seem like after the 2.2 update my "system penal lite" just doesn't work right anymore. Everything is in active even its not. Even I killed it and still coming back up. So does anyone have task killer or some other program that can close out all inactive apps and keep it close that work with Froyo? After the update, battery drain faster because all the apps was running at the background. lots of them!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have this ImageView block inside a Relative layout:
CODE:.................
This draws the image right where it would be expected in both normal and high density resolution screens on Android 1.6 however on 2.2 it seems to ignore the layout_marginBottom and always draw the image aligned all the way at the bottom. Has anyone seen this before, and if so do you know a fix?
Edit 1:
It sits inside a RelativeLayout declared thusly:
CODE:...........
Edit 2:
Here's the full layout code:

I did the manual upgrade to 2.2 Froyo last night and 2 applications have stopped working
-1) Ringo Lite is totally gone and will not install at all manually.
-2) Open Home is installed but cannot seem to make it stick as the default "home" application. Everytime I hit the Home button on my N1 it goes back to the 2.2 (froyo) default home screen.
So sprint updated my phone to 2.2 and now when i try internet I get:The Application Internet (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. [force close]Data works because I can do gmail, facebook, imdb, yelp, etc.. and they all work fine.Any clue how to fix this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to Froyo (Manual Update.zip method), the stock internet browser crashes on load of MULTIPLE sites....including Android forums here.
It loads up a little bit of it...you see some sign of loading...than before it fully loads...CRASH, just closes itself down. This is also true for most of any other forums I visit with the phone. I also noticed a crash from other sites as well. What's the deal? I tried clearing all my history, cookies, etc. on the browser...also tried a couple of battery pulls.
NOTE:
Dolphin Browser HD does not have this behavior....but I would much prefer to continue using Stock browser (It is WAY faster now). ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE.
UPDATE:
In short, it seems most flash DOES NOT work. Whats the deal?
I just want something stable and still has sense. I'm noob to rooting and just rooted it so now I'm looking for a Froyo rom
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had swype before the update and I kind of miss it...is there a new version that works with froyo?
View 24 Replies View RelatedAnybody running a Froyo mod on the Desire, does Wireless N work? I'm not fussed about the speed increase but it would be nice to be able to use my phone in the garden with the extra range
View 4 Replies View RelatedI really want to use a Froyo Rom, right not I'm looking at KaosFroyo and Nonsensikal, but I'm not sure how to get Wired Tether to work. I'm running xtrROM right now and It works fine, but every time i flash KaosFroyo, I try to run Wired Tether, and no luck. Can someone walk me through how to run Wired Tether on a 2.2 ROM?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated officially to Froyo 2.2 today from the VZW notification. Now, whenever I select my camcorder, it goes back to the home screen and does not launch. I removed a flashlight app that I had installed from the market. I restarted several times. Tried removing the battery for 15 minutes. All no help. any suggestions. Everything else seems to work properly.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSuch as text messages, and others? This was, and is a huge annoyance on 2.1 unless using a third party app, which I don't. Has Google fixed this in Froyo?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHaven't got my update yet to try and was just curious.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk, I've liked Sense but I'm considering trying LP. I'm just a bit confused as to how to go about it. Does it work w/ Froyo on the Incredible?
View 19 Replies View RelatedLike the the post says my wireless tether no longer works( at leat not fast ) with any of my 2.2 nandroid backup I have all the wireless thether downloads ( the 2.0.2 and all the 2.0.5 versions ) and they just stoped transfering or transfer really slow. By slow I mean it will take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute sometimes longer for a page to load. This is the case with all my 2.2 roms Damage Control 3.5, Baked Snack 1.0 and 1.5, Fresh 3.something and even my stock 2.2 rooted rom. This is the case with any kernel and I have been using various Kings, (but tend to stick with Netarchy's kernels) All with the same problem. Everything else works flawlessly.
This wouldnt be a big deal except I use wireless tether everyday for homework so it is a must have for me. I had to use the tether feature on my wifes Palm Pre (you know how that made me feel) I have her phone overclocked to 800mhz and it felt as if her battery was going to melt or explode, which usuall happens if you use it for too long. I had to get an Ice pack and put a towel on it to keep the phone cool while tethering.
I even tried it with flashing new room and kernel and the only app being all the versions of the wireless tether. That still was a no/go.
I however did find a solution but not a good one. I had a nandroid back up of a HTC 2.1 stock rooted rom with Nand unlocked and with the FPS un capped. This however when I look for wireless networks to connect to on my computer, it shows up as 3computer connected together instead of the 5 escalating bars like in the att comercials (dont ban me for that)
but it works perfectly and lightning fast. The version I'm usuing is the 2.0.2 version not any of the 2.0.5 versions.
I know this is a bit drawn out but can anyone explain why this happened? I mean it worked one night and the next it didnt. Or can someone can someone explain why it works on 2.1 and not on 2.2?
I miss some of my 2.2 feature but there are none that I can't live without but I would like to be on the latest software version.
I searched for Froyo keyboards with no luck. Multi Touch doesnt work and neither does Swype. I'm thrilled with Froyo but really really really miss my keyboards...are there any APK's out there that will work with Froyo yet?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny reason Cricket internet doesn't work on Froyo builds? I have flashed all of them, and after flashing the 'cricket internet V9' it won't connect. If I flash back to a 2.1 ROM, it works. What gives? It's really annoying because I want to run KaosV27, but can't without 3g.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNow that we know this phone is getting an early/mid September release.
I have a few questions:
Do you think GPS will work on the phone out of the box?
Do you think Froyo and Flash will come pre-installed?
I hear the phone only has 2GB of onboard memory, but is there a microSD card that is pre-installed? If so, how much space is on it?
Since I don't have google contacts I can't get voice dialing to work.. Does anyone know if Voice Dialing works with Froyo? I think its kind of crazy that my Motorola Razor had voice dialing stock and this does not.
