View 6 RepliesSo I plugged my new Captivate into my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) and the Captivate says it's connected, but the PC shows no signs of it being connected. I called SAmsung support, and from what I could understand of what the "tech" told me, this is a bug, and there's no way for a PC to recognize the Captivate unless there's a memory card installed. is this correct? Once a 16GB memory card is installed, do you have 64-GB of storage space you can use for music, etc?
This seems like a mammoth problem - do they have any timeframe for a fix for this? Or is the "tech" incorrect? I can't believe I just bought a brand new "Smartphone" to replace my old mobile phone and MP3 player, and I can't copy files to it. Help!
Should Samsung Kies be selected as the USB setting? That's the default.
How can i save files such as pics, videos and music to SD memory card or transfer from phone to SD card? really frustrating? its an xperia x10
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create custom ringtones from the music files on my Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.4.2 (CM 11 build date 09-Jan-2014). Most, if not all, of my music is in M4A format, so I made sure the ringtone makers I've tried support that format.
The apps play the music files just fine, but when I try to open any file for editing, no matter what app I use, I get "Error reading file" or a variation thereof. The files were transferred from my Windows 8.1 computer to my phone via Winamp (USB, not wifi).
how to resolve this, short of wiping all the music and transferring WAV or MP3 files?
i have my samsung SCH-R740C,and i put the SD card from my previous phone in it. ( it wasnt a samsung.i forgot what it was), and for a while, it was working fine in the new phone. however every once in a while, pictures, videos and music get corrupted and i dont know why.( i would save it to cloud, but it takes an extremely long time even with wifi. google+ backs up alot of ny files for me,but idk if it backs up audio.)
somehow the phone messes up my files. at first, music that i had already saved on the external SD card i could listen to(although some songs were corrupted and skipped a lot),but any new music had to be in the phone, or else i couldnt play it. now,NONE of the music can be on the exteral card so i have to move it to the phone just to hear it. id rather keep my music on my external SD card,so i could move it whenever i get a new phone.
I found it on my memory card from my Samsung Galaxy S3Attachment 94627 I had my hard drive stolen from my laptop and my phone settings etc were on my hard drive. The person who stole mt hard drive left these files after she finished doing what she did. Need to know if she can accsess my phone somehow.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy I7500 using android 1.5. I extended my phone with a 16GB microSD. I copied a big music collection (around 800 files) into a folder on this SD. Now the problem is that the music player can't find all the files.
I know that there are several threads about android not finding music. The answers are usually that the library hasn't yet been updated or that the ID3 tags are not correct.
I have checked both.
Btw. I can play the files using ASTRO.
In my opinion it seems as if android can't build up a library with too many entries. If I rename the files or put them into different folders, songs disappear and reappear quite randomly.
Do you have any solutions? Is there a music player which doesn't use the native music players index of files?
I was a self confessed iphone lover.. But a few days ago curiosity got me and I decided to get a Galaxy S3.
I can't say how much a love this phone and am a bit ashamed that I didn't realize how great android devices were. So far I have been able to find out on my own how to do pretty much everything I needed done except for one thing.
I work in music hence have a lot of music on my phone. I didn't want to restart the cataloging process of recreating playlist after playlist. So i found a solution to transfer my itunes to my phone.
I did this with Air Sync and DoubleTwist. The main problem I have is it put all of my music on my internal memory card and now it is full. I have a 32gb external SD card that is empty right now and was wondering if there is a solution to quickly transfer all of my music from the internal memory to the SD card. Furthermore I would like for the air sync / doubleTwist software to put all future music on the SD card as well.
Can you do that without connecting to a computer? My computer is being repaired and I have no more memory in the sd card. Can it be done or should I buy another one for now?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have tried a lot of custom Roms. I'm on Neat ROM Lite now. Not sure which ROM changed my file access permission settings to cause this problem but I'm not able to delete any files from my external memory card. I was able to delete when I was on stock rom. The other problem is for a few apps I get an error message which says can't install on usb/sd card. I have posted this in another thread some time back but got no response.
This is what my file permission looks like.
I am able to delete when my fone is connected to PC via USB. So I don't think it has anything to do with a faulty sd card.
I just received in the post a new class 6 microsd card 8gig. Now, when I remove the the card I got with the phone, I first unmount it in the settings then physically remove it. I get notifications telling me this too. When I install the new card nothing happens and I get no notifications.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFrom what I was told, the Inc supports 32gb microsd card. So I ordered a Sandisk one...class 4. I got it and tested it out. It seems like it can transfer/read small files....but anything big it wouldn't read properly. It's funny cuz a movie file would transfer and play...but if I delete it and transfer the same exact file over, it wouldn't play. Or if I transfer music, some files play and some wouldnt. And some even would merge into one file. Like one song would play and then all sudden another song would POP up like what a DJ does when they mix songs together.
I know I might have a defected one but this is a legit Sandisk card. So what else could be the problem? Should I transfer the file one or slower so the card can read it....is there a way or procedure to using a 32gb MicroSd card? Lol. I mean I have a 16gb right now and it reads and transfers fine. With the 16gb I can literally drag a folder of 10 movies and it would be fine.
I wanted to load up an A-DATA 16GB Class 6 card with music tonight so I can listen to music at work on the Evo tomorrow at work after i pick up phone in the morning...my questions is, since my PC (Windows 7) didn't need to format the card, will the phone need to do any formatting? Hoping I can just throw the card in at Radio Shack and enjoy my tunes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt's my first time here and i received my new Hero (or T Mobile G2 Touch) yesterday so sorry if i'm asking a dumb question! I put the micro SD from my old phone into the Hero and as it's full up i was hoping to transfer some of the files onto the phone using the internal memory, but i cannot find a way of doing this. Also now that the card is full i am unable to take new photos cos there is no space for them to be stored. Do i have to do something to access the internal memory?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI put in a 32GB sd card. I formatted it (FAT 32) and simply copied the files from my original that came with the phone. I had over 1500 music files, but while they are on the 32 GB card, only 100 are showing up in the music player. I deleted everything and recopied the original card

Phone: HTC Incredible still ten days from my hands.
Microittybitty SD card: came in today's mail.
Computer OS: Vista
Music: On iTunes.
Downloaded: doubleTwist
My general media skills: Sucky.
Ok, here goes. So I have this fear that I won't be able to get all my lovely music from my computer to my Incredible. This is not an irrational fear, as I am notoriously bad with any kind of file management. And device management. And getting devices to talk nicely to each other.
(You may heckle me all you want. Yes, I am in over my head here. This will be an adventure.)
If I could figure out how to copy my music files to my SD card, could I then just put the card in the phone and have the stock music player recognize them and all that? Or would I end up down some dead-end street by myself in the middle of the night, drunk and dazed?
I want the music to go to the SD card anyway, whether I wait for the phone to get here or not. I'm just trying to skip a step. Will it work?
I'm wanting to learn more about android. Is there a way to use memory from the sd card for the phones internal memory? Is there an app that will tell me whats useing up so much memory? I'm on the ZTE warp sequent ,rooted.
View 1 Replies View Relatedgot a Samsung Galaxy S4 (for several years I had iPhones) and I am enjoying it. Now that I have gotten all my music files away from iTunes' clunky clutches I have reorganized them and they are on my S4's sim card and it works great.
The issue is that I have updated a few of the files and moved a couple more around. I want to update those music files on my S4 from my PC. I could just delete the Music folder on the S4 and recopy everything over, but that seems to be a huge overkill.
What is a good way to compare files between my S4 and folders on the PC and match/update between the two? I am using Windows 7. I have tried to map the Sim Card as a drive but couldn't get that to work. I have Kies from Samsung but that is kinda clunky. I have also tried AirDroid (which I think is great) but I can't really sync files with that. Normally I would use a Windows application like Beyond Compare or WinMerge to do something like this.
