This is my first post and I am new to Android so excuse my ignorance if this is well documented and common knowledge. I have a stock ADP, firmware 1.0, no updates no mods and of course I want to get the latest features such as voice control, latitude etc, and so begins the fun. Why is there nothing official that can be easily found which states what is going on for people that own the ADP? I must have read dozens of articles showing update procedures and claiming to have leaked OFFICIAL developer updates and only recently did i find 2 thread that eventually end with something stating there is NO official update for developer phones yet.
I have 2 gripes about this:
1. Why no official and clear statement from the development team to clarify this before people start scrambling desperately to install leaked versions that are false? (I know I almost did) 2. Why as a developer do I have to wait for features that are already available to end users?
Anyone know?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the Galaxy from my mother (she switched to another phone), but she lost the USBcable. I found a way of sending files via WiFi to the sdcard, and also connected adb via WiFi, but I can't flash the new recovery because I'd have no WiFi connection in fastboot. Is there a way to flash an official update from the sdcard using stock recovery? I successfully entered recovery but there are no options, and I can't find a guide of any kind. I tried buying the cable, but none of the shops had the official one, so finally I bought a third party cable that only charges the phone through usb, but windows gives me some error and doesn't recognize it as a device.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI am getting calls going straight to voicemail with no missed calls on my phone, when I have full signal, so orange have (after a lot of calls) agreed to terminate my contract. I have to return my phone (shame I could not keep it for free!) and have rooted my phone, and installed the modaco ROM.
I want to return it with an orange ROM, and was wondering if I can just install the updated orange ROM on my phone over the top of the modaco, and has anyone done this successfully? From reading around I am assuming that this would hide the fact that I have ever rooted or installed a custom ROM, as I want to be back on warranty?
Is there a website I can check to see what the latest versions should be when I go to About Phone > Software Information, assuming stock everything and only official OTA updates? I just want to see if I'm current on everything, although I think I am since my phone came with Froyo.

wtf? Check spare parts partial wake usage since last unplugged and the Calander is up there at the top above the Android system.

I using the twitter official app in my galaxy s. But when i hit the reply button i does not show me the reply to all option, only replies to the author of the post. Is there a way to reply within this app to every one in the conversation?

I don't see how any of those companies totally ignore the android market. I have tried ALL messenger apps on the device and it just doesn't have a solid feel. View 8 Replies View RelatedI think, Android needs a game framework. Something like SDL or more, XNA from Microsoft. Of course, we can use Canvas to draw, but it is slow. We can use OpenGL, but after two days of learning I still do not know how to draw f** background. Of course, I will do that. Some day :) But state and flags-ful OGL interface is really hard to understand if you go from wonderful world of objective thinking. I just want to focus on creating art, not wondering how to create tools for that.
I'm worrying, really worring about Android and games. M$ has XNA, porting it to Zune with Tegra. After that, XNA will come to WinMo. If you ever used C# and XNA, you know, how simple and great it is. What does it mean ? Thousands of games for Microsoft Mobile Junk and still no great games for Android. Worst. Many Android developers will go to WinMo for XNA. Many games will be easily ported from Xbox Arcade too. And we will be wasting time, wondering, how to get 25fps from Canvas or OpenGL. Without sound. Now, I think, is the time to do something with that. Android really needs something like XNA, to allow us producing games without all that technic stuff like OpenGL, game loops with managing threads, times, buffers, right pixel format settings and others. What you think about official game framework for Android?
