Jun 9, 2010I bought a galaxy I7500 yesterday, and it is running 1.5. I am in Canada and the phone is unlocked (I am using it with Wind mobile) and am wondering if there is an official update to different version of android (I had the magic before and it was all just done for me). Also does anyone know if the phone will relock, all the manuals are not in English so I am not sure the original carrier of the device. (The Samsung website only seems to list the L version of this phone).

Mar 25, 2010I have had the Swype "Trial" for a while now, but have not used it. I decided to start using it just to give it another go. (After watching that guy crush the World Record for Texting using Swype). I long pressed for input method, selected swype, and attempted to use. I got a "Your trial has ended please upgrade your version of swype." I have looked everywhere and am not able to find a different version of the one that I have. I have tried another download of it and get the same result. Is there another version of it out there that I am not seeing or am I just stuck until they reopen beta or just release the app?

Sep 18, 2010I just downloaded this version of Swype maybe two (three?) weeks ago on my 2.2 Froyo Evo phone. After experiencing Swype I would NEVER go back to the old keyboard. Unfortunately, today, I was told my trial version has expired. Now I can only use the Swype keyboard ,but can't 'swype'.

Sep 19, 2010I installed the lastest version of swype( did not have anything installed on this ROM).I saw the other thread was locked so I'm starting a new one I guess. Everything installed fine, but nothing happens when I swype. Manually typing works but when I swype it just shows the line makes a noise and nothing happens.

Sep 27, 2010Ever since I installed the new version of Swype (i have an official version), I constantly get a pop up tips screen.It tells me how the word I just typed was replaced by an earlier word I just types, and tells me how to delete it.It comes up constantly! From swipe settings, I�ve disabled the enable tip indicator to no avail.Its really hampered my user experience.I also have the other issue people mentioned where i have to reboot my phone, because it stops "swyping".Surprising to me that an upgrade is actually a downgrade.

Jul 23, 2010I've been using Take5 for quite awhile now; however, recently, I decided to flash to the official 1.6 OTA release just out of curiosity. After playing around with it for a little while, I decided to flash back to Take5 (because I missed having root and I really don't like TouchWiz). After flashing back to Take5, I noticed that my baseband was still the new one (T939UVJE2) and I thought to myself, alright I got the new baseband out of this. Anyways, on to Swype... The official 1.6 OTA release includes a newer version of Swype than Take5. Upon testing it, I found it to work a little better than the one in Take5 (slightly more accurate and a little faster). Could someone please send me the new version of the swype apk that's included in 1.6 OTA release?

Right now I am changing the package name in eclipse and changing the code manually, but this seems really inefficient. I was going to use some sort of film protector, such as Zagg invisible shield and a Flip Case. But the only flip case I can find for the Galaxy S looks horrid, and I am not sure on the texture of Zagg Invisible Shields.I have also considered silicone gel cases, but I am having trouble finding one that is nice, and pouches in combo with a screen protector.What would you use and if I did buy a screen protector, which brand should it be, I want one that will protect but with minimum difference to the feel or colour of the screen.
