I am trying to run google map tutorial using following link: http://mobiforge.com/developing/story/using-google-maps-android.
Followed all steps but when i try to run this application it does not display anything except boxes and zooming button. is there any thing i am missing?? i have obtained new google map key from google website too.

I wanna to launch google map and locate to a specific co-ordination.But, the launched google map there is no dot(like function of my location) in the view to indicates exact location, does anyone know how to let the dot displayed when google map launched? Just by sending intent.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to display GoogleMaps in my application, but instead of map I just get an empty screen with crosses and Google logo in the bottom left corner. I'm using Internet permission in manifest file, just as the library "com.google.android.maps". I have also supported my application with Android Maps API key and I placed it in layout as android:apiKey value for MapView, but it still can't display the map.

I have used two different API Key values, regarding whether I signed the application with debug or my own created keystore, but it didn't work with none of them.
Is there a way to display points of interest like gas stations, hospitals etc., using google maps?

The android db is synchronized with remote db. I'm getting the points from the database, creating kml file from them and uploading in to the map. The problem is that the areas I've created are not appearing where they should. They're somewhere on the ocean.

So basically I'm doing microdegrees here. I thought that dividing lat and long from db by 1E6 would do the trick but it didn't. Can someone please help me on that one?
I would like to do two things within my Android app: Check if the Google Finance app is installed on the device. Should be pretty straight forward, isn't it ? If yes, launch an intent to Open up Google Finance, displaying a graph on a particular Stock. So I also need to pass the stock ticker to Google Finance in some way... but is this even possible? Any other alternative I could use to display Stock Charts (let's say a 5 days intraday chart) on any stock?

At this time we were still at the airport, so I couldn't just say "map of nearest haircut". So I got the map to display the embassy suites, but then couldn't get it to ALSO display places to get a haircut. It was one or the other. I have noticed an irritating condition with Navigator. When I turn it to landscape mode, the screen darkens to unreadable. I can turn it back to portrait and it immediately re-appears. This only happens when I pick it up - It can be laying in the seat in LS mode and be perfectly visible, as soon as I pick it up, it goes dark. If this is a feature, what is the benefit?

Since the 3.7.13 update, the Google Play Store is displaying landscape app preview pics in portrait style even when I have my phone in landscape. In other words, they don't fill the screen like they should, but are displayed sideways as if I was still in portrait mode. I've been noticing this for a while now, but figured it had to do with how the dev uploaded the pic, but I confirmed today that it happens with all apps that have landscape preview pics (Angry Birds is a good example), so I believe this issue started with the latest update.

I see a gray background with a few magnifying glasses instead. I thought it might be because there are no images near my house at this level, so I tried Manhattan near MSG and still did not find anything at the highest mag level.

I have a Droid X2. I downloaded Google Calendar Sync to my computer which synced my Outlook with my Gmail calendar, and that displayed on my phone, but events created on the phone do not display in the Google calendar or Outlook.

Any widget that will display a moving google map with my current location centered? There are a couple apps I've found that are close, they just don't update in realtime. The reason I ask is because I have my 7" galaxy tab mounted in my truck. I have an issue with displaying videos on android devices.When any video is displayed it does not take the entire screen size of device even though i have given android:layout_width="fill_parent".There will being some blank space on either sides.for eg.if i have a video of 480 by 320 it will work on 480 by 320 device fine but on a device like say Nexus one it wont take the entire display of device ,there will be some blanl spaces on two sides. Is this a default feature of android devices or is there a solution to resolve this ?Why does not the "fill_parent" attribute work?
