Android :: GDocs Notepad Sync ?
Jul 11, 2010For sometime, I've been using GDocs Notepad. The good thing about GDocs is it sync's with a designated folder Google Docs.
Lately, I've been having the following problems with this: Getting "Error - Couldn't Sync" upload errors
After numerous problems of creating and editing my notes on the computer to try to resolve the issues, I get HTML gobbledygook each time I sync back to the phone.

I get the same code both on my phone in my GDocs App. The above picture is when I then sync'd it back into Google Docs. This HTML gobbledygook comes after a "successful sync" message.
I'm using the HTC Hero - CDMA - Sprint - Android 2.1. Although I'm not sure if it's the phone or the App.
HTC Incredible :: Gdocs - Login Failed?
Apr 30, 2010Does anyone else use Gdocs with Inc? Loaded the app, get the log in screen but then get "Login Failed! Do you want to save this account?" Is this problem limited to the Inc because I never had a problem with my Moto Droid and Eris. I also get the 3 options..... "Use Secure Server, This is the Google Apps account and Use this account as default". I tried multiple combinations of checking and unchecking these items with no luck.

Jan 20, 2010I've switched from Windows mobile to Google and I love everything about it BUT I can't build spreadsheets! Something I used a lot on my old phone ... even my old dinosaur smart phone could do spreadsheets. Is there any apps out there. I've tried Gdocs doesn't do spreadsheets. Going to spreadsheets on the web from Google also is not what I need . Quickoffice doesn't do bunk. I'm searching the market and the web. But I have found nothing that will let me edit formulas. Come on somebody gotta be a spreadsheet junkie like me....

Feb 4, 2009So finally a video camera app is out on the market, pretty decent. Promises of bug fix and overall update in the next 5 days in good to know. Question is, has anyone else gotten it and it makes ur G1 sound kinda like a computer. Let me explain, when im phone is on, sense i downloaded the app, i can hear my phone running, kinda like how u can hear ur computer run, it makes wierd little sounds like its computing something, kinda weird i know. Kinda bugs me but I'll survive, anyone else having this problem though?

Aug 21, 2010One of the only disappointments I had with my EVO was that the audio quality through the headphone jack seemed muffled and quiet compared to my old iPhone. This wasn't a huge issue but very noticeable when listening to music in my car through the AUX input. After doing the following, I'm happy to say that the quality now even surpasses the iPhone.
Installed the paid version of MixZing - the price was kinda steep but well worth it since it comes with an EQ. Boosting the overall gain tweaking the low frequencies has done wonders - best music app IMO hands down!
(Following Requires Root and NAND):
Flashed a custom 2.2 ROM - the newer ROMs are using modified versions of HTC's source kernel to boost the audio volume. I prefer BakedSnack 1.4 using his included kernel. Better audio quality and better battery life to boot. Flashed the workaround (or manually edit build.prop) to temporary disable stagefright. This fixes the audio issues with Pandora running on 2.2.
Games :: Reckless Racing Is Finally Out
Oct 22, 2010Reckless Racing - Android app on AppBrain. The game downloads from market is about 3mb. When you launch the game it downloads the main file to the SD card (even on Android 2.1). The server was over run yesterday but seems to be working today but still a bit slow. The game itself is great fun ! I'll try out online game later...The game works on the HTC Legend but the frame rate drops in race. If you can pull out a lead and drop the other cars of screen its just about playable. However it is borderline on the HTC Legend, so be warned.

Feb 16, 2010After looking at Verizon store, Best Buy, Target, and Dicks sporing goods.A salesperson at a Verizon Kiosk at the mall told me that Verizon is designing an armband for the Droid that should be available this spring.I looked through all the threads here, as well as at all the stores listed, and cannot find one that fits the Droid.Many different Iphone armbands are just a bit too small and do not fit the Droid.

Aug 15, 2010I was one of the "few" users who wouldn't complain about the 2.1. update on their Hero and my phone was working fine, until I installed Launcher Pro. Yes, my phone become even more responsive and I was actually glad with the new home launcher. But for some reason after installing that, and even though my phone was more responsive, my phone ringtones wouldn't go off whenever I would get a text message or a call. Not even the alarm would go off and thanks to that, I've been late to work lately lol But anyway, I decided to uninstall LP and now HTC Sense launcher forcloses every time it tries to load, so my phone is sort of useless now because I can't even open any other app. I already did a soft reset, removed the battery and HTC Sense is still foreclosing. I've been thinking that the best thing to do is doing a hard reset, but is there anything else I can do to fix this without doing a hard reset to my phone? BTW, my phone has the 2.1 update, the very first one released by Sprint and hasn't been updated again after that and my phone is not rooted.

Jun 5, 2010i'm here at work and have been trying for the last hour to get my phone to work as a modem. I got the same error message over and over again after connecting it to my computer "Error Code 67, your PCS Vision username and password may be incorrect." I installed HTC Sync, and it still doesn't work. So, assuming to myself that tethering for just one computer would be free, I call up Sprint tech support to find out what the problem is. First person didn't know what I was talking about so I was transferred to a really nice lady who helped me reprogram the phone but that didn't work so she sent me to another woman from tech support who had me go into System Updates and select Update Profile. I did that twice while talking to her and nothing fixed the problem.I kept getting error 67.So then, I get transferred to "Advanced" tech support and I talk to a really cool guy who goes out of his way to find a loop hole, but no success. So, he explains to me that after looking at it that they don't offer the "phone as modem" option anymore to my account type, and even then it would be $15 a month to just tether one phone. He said he could add the wifi hotspot option but I told him I don't want to pay $30/month for something I only use on Saturdays and when I travel. So after a hour on the phone, I got nowhere... but then I went onto the App Store and found Easy Tether-Lite and after 5 minutes I am sitting here writing this thread. (The full version said it supports https but idk what that means and I can surf the web now).
I only have one concern now though.I'm really happy this works but i'm scared now because this App was too easy to setup. I feel like I may be charged up the ass by Sprint somehow by finding this loophole or I may get penalized. My family and I are on the Everything Data where all data is unlimited so I don't think I should have a problem but after paying $30 extra a month for data with AT&T and finding this work around i'm getting paranoid that i'm going to get a bill at the end of the month charging me for tethering. So I guess i'll see what happens, but i'm glad for now.

Android :: Android Edit Text Class Appearing Without Edit Box
Nov 17, 2010I am doing a custom edit box class. It starts something like: public class Amount Field extends Edit Text and has over riden the constructor to implement the Edit Text widget style However when I implement this on my XML I get an editable Text View instead of the Edit Text (there is only text but not the surrounding white box) and also when I click on it nothing happens, only text color changes. Are there any ideas on why this happens? I've done list components the same way and style is not altered.

The main functionality I need is the ability to click a "+" or "-" button in the row and add/remove another row where the user can input another line of data. Jul 1, 2010Most annoying thing in Android.. You have an item in your search history, that's misspelled by one character, or you want to modify it slightly to form a new search. Unfortunately, you can only do that saved search OVER AGAIN, with no changes! So, if I typed in "Univeral enormous elephanr keyboard" only to have it fail because I mis-typed "elephant", my only option now is to enter the whole thing again.
Wanted: When you tap and hold an item from search (or dialing) history, you get 3 choices:
1. Use again. (Does the current default action)
2. EDIT Pops the text back into the entry line, so you can edit it.
3. Delete. (So you can delete entries without clearing them all.)

Oct 15, 2009I dont know if i'm just plain dumb or what, but I set up the HTC People widget on my phone. Once you select a person to be a shortcut, I cant edit or delete them? I deleted the widget and tried starting fresh, but it remembered the first three I put in to begin with. Anyone know how to edit these, or even just wipe it clean, I wont screw it up next time lol. When I chose to get a picture to edit, it asked me what size I wanted for it. I chose maximum size and chose the option to always pick that size. I normally take pics in 8 megs, will a photo edited by Picsay be lower in quality than the original, or just about the same? Also, is there any way I can default the app to just ask me what size I want to edit pics in? (Rather than maximum size being the default)

Jun 30, 2010In my application I entered value into editText field into 2 ways one is Depending on the spinner selection value will be changed and other way is through softkeyboard. Now problem is when i entered value into the edittext through key board and orientation is changed at that time edittext field contain the value depending on the spinner.but i want whatevet i enter value into the edittext filed that value is appeared in thta edit text field if the orientation is changed.For this what can i do ,Give me some suggestions.
