How do I go about emailing all contacts within either the default contacts app or Gmail?
As it's a phone/tablet, the browser version of Gmail (Desktop) often crashs and isn't suitable for contacts work - is there a way to do it otherwise?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI see my phone contacts have synched with my gmail contacts, which is good. Except that only the email addresses are visible. Not the phone numbers. I have checked on the Accounts and Sync settings for the gmail - and it is set to transfer all (all boxes are ticked).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've checked my phone's sync settings, synced several times, logged in and out of Gmail online to see if anything has been updated. No such luck. Icon by phone numbers saved on phone is a cell phone, rather than the letter "G" which typically represents contacts pulled from Gmail online. I've had this issue - I believe - with my previous Samsung. Although I've seen this question brought up before, the answers are typically not device specific or have not been useful and clear to follow.
As a new user, I had difficulty negotiating this site and finding the best place to post this. There is not an LG Optimus L9 Forum so, if there is a location where this post might encourage more visibility.

When I connected my cellphone to the internet my cellphone contacts got contaminated with all my gmail contacts. This really pisses me off.
Aside from manually going through and deleting them, how can i turn this feature off?
I have contacts on my Droid with phone numbers that the same contact in Gmail do not have. Some history:
I have a Droid 3. My Accounts include my main Gmail acct, a gmail acct I hardly ever use (no contacts issues there), a pop3 account and a Touchdown-Exchange account which I dont need because Im not connected to that Exchange server any longer. Some time ago, since I wasnt on the Exchange server any more, I deleted the Touchdown account. Then I realized some or most of my Google contacts had disappeared from the phone. Thinking that this would delete the same contacts from the Gmail servers when it synced, I immediately restored the Touchdown account, restoring the lost contacts to the phone. Are these 2 issues related?
I am using 2.3.5 android and my contacts are in google contacts. I have also added my facebook account and some contacts are synced between both accounts.I use titanium backup pro for my backups but I cannot restore the linked synced (after some reboots, the stop being synced)
Is there anyway to make and restore a backup if the sync contacts information) using titanium backup pro or other app?
I have just bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 - very nice looking device - to replace my old and clunky Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. And I want to transfer all my phone contacts across. On my Xperia, I've got "Phone contacts", and gmail contacts. I tried to import all my phone contacts by first exporting them to a simgle file, and transferring that file to the Samsung. And now I've got this vast list containing, it seems, everybody who I've ever called or emailed, including various names who I don't recognize at all. Is there any way (maybe a specialized app) of keeping my phone contacts and gmail contacts separate? And how do I manage my vast list of contacts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust realized that when I go into "Contacts" and select to email a contact that it is pulling up GMail rather than my Corporate Email client. All of my contacts are synced from my Outlook through my corporate Exchange server so I need to be sending the email from my corporate email. I've gone into corporate email and selected to make this the "default" email client, but it is still pulling up GMail when I select to email from Contacts. I also have the "Corporate Contacts" app that I downloaded from the Market. It syncs with Exchange as well, but it is also pulling up GMail when I select to email from there as well. Is there another default switch somewhere that I'm missing?

Otherwise, the contact on my phone from Facebook may be, and in many cases is, missing lots of relevant information. For example, many people don't keep their full address, or their phone number, on Facebook. If this is so, then no phone number or address is stored on my phone for the many friends who got in my contact list via the Facebook Motoblur magic. I can update these manually, via the phone screen-keyboard, but I would like to use the much easier-to-access PC to gmail user interface. But alas, I cannot, as all of these Facebook contacts don't show up on the gmail list at all.

However she now needs to return the phone for service (silent call bug) and she went to G mail to ensure all her contacts was backed up... they are not. I had a Samsung Infuse before this and have never had a problem. I've had the S4 for about 3 weeks now and this hasn't happened until yesterday. And since yesterday it has happened 3x's. At first I thought it was a Trulia app (realestate app) that I was using to try to call some realtors. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence but the first 2 times I was on the app and my contacts disappeared. How I recovered them was through the contacts recovery feature on Gmail. I would be SOL if I were out and needed to call someone on my contacts list immediately and without access to my laptop.

In call history, I clicked the little file picture and added their name, saved it as a google contact, and saved it. If I go to People, the name doesnt appear. So I went to the People app, entered their info, made it a google contact, saved. Still didnt work. Even manually synced my google account. So then I changed the "view" to show every option and slowly ticked off each box til I realized that only if "show auto gmail contacts" is ON does my new contact appear. It was also "linked" to 3 other contacts (the same one that I kept adding over and over wondering why it wasnt appearing). So, of course I do NOT want everyone I've ever e-mailed in my contact list, so the question is, how can I add/save any contacts and make them appear in People?

Is there a way to move/link contacts to the gmail account instead of re-typing100 contacts over again and saving them as gmail. Plus I have miles of messages that I need so I can't really delete the contact/have double contacts if you know what I mean.

I went into my phone and google contacts are there but they won't sync, errors out with "sync is temporary down".
All this creates another problem for me, I have phone contacts and google contacts in my Eris. Phone contact are synced to PC and all is good but I need my google contact in my gmail so I can email people and I have no way of putting them back to gmail and don't even know how to back them up.
My Android based (Gingerbread) smartphone has a number of contacts with several phone numbers (home, work, mobile etc.) for each. When I call a contact the call goes through the mobile operator and I'm charged for the call by him.
I also have an an Asterisk-based PBX with a FCT (Fixed Cellular Terminal, or GSM Dialer or Fixed Wireless Terminal) connected to a VOIP provider that charges much less. If I prefix a phone number in Contacts with a fixed string (containing the mobile number to the SIM card in the FCT, plus some pause, plus the password to access the PBX's dial tone plus a bit more of pause) it works fine.
What I'm looking for is a way to have this standard prefix string stored somewhere and it be automatically padded at the beginning of each number dialed. Ideally, when dialing a contact I would be asked if I wanted to call with or without the standard prefix. Is that doable?
My primary Gmail Account has about 300 contacts in it. I sync everything to and from this account.
My secondary Gmail account is for work and I have about 450 conacts in there. I sync emails and calendar events from this account BUT NOT CONTACTS.
Now I have about 80 contacts from the secondary work account that I need to move over to my primary Gmail account so they are in my phone. It seems like it would be a simple task but I can't find a way to do it. I don't want to sync the whole contact list which would result in duplicate or triplicate entries.
How do I do this?
So I was smart enough to add all my contacts in Gmail first and then just have it sync to my phone. No problem. But now I have added phone numbers of people as I got them on the phone, but they don't show up in my Contacts on Gmail. How do I get them there?

I'm a long time Yahoo Mail user and I really don't care to jump to GMail for the sake of my Android phone. I've created a GMail account for ease of use.
I've linked both my yahoo and gmail accounts to the contact app on the droid. I can get two way sync with the gmail contacts, but the contact app won't allow me to edit any Yahoo contacts!

I bought a Kyocera Rise for my wife (big mistake - piece o' junk). She broke the sliding display off of the keyboard - ribbon and all so I transferred the service to an old LG Optimus. But I have no idea what her Gmail address was to be able to get her contacts. Is there anyway to recover the email address or transfer the contacts. The Rise still works, it just doesn't have a screen. I could plug the USB port into a PC and probably read it that way, but I have no idea how to get to the contacts. I don't think we exported the contacts to the SD card.
