I'm trying to force Webkit to use proxy definde in APN.
My proxy configuration:
APN: wap
PROXY: 192.168.6.102
PORT: 8080
USER: wap
PASSWORD: wap`
Currently all connections made by Webkit are blocked on firewall. Is there way to use proxy from phone profile?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S Advance running Android 2.3.6
I was able to set up the proxy server through Settings - Wireless and Network - WiFi Settings - (Options button) - Advanced.
This works well for the browser. If the proxy server requires authentication, then a dialog box pops up for that purpose.
However, all the other apps are totally useless behind a proxy server that requires authentication.
How do I work around this without rooting my phone? If rooting is absolutely necessary, what app do you recommend to use (after rooting)? My google searches turn up ProxyDroid.
Anyone using SetCPU to enforce underclocking profiles with their X? I'm concerned about how hot the X gets when it's charging in the car dock and using Navigation. Would downclocking the cpu to 800MHz or 600MHz when the battery is above a certain temp (45C or so) make a difference? Has anyone noticed any battery gains from using other profiles?
View 45 Replies View RelatedI was under the impression that droid 2.2 (FRG01B) was going to enforce "Enforce password on device" through Exchange Active Sync security policies.
Our policy on our exchange server forces mobile devices connecting to use a PIN for the device before it starts to sync emails. (Works perfectly on WinMo 5,6 and iPhone devices). You are prompted to set up a PIN.
I just received 2.2 OTA this morning and installed it. When adding my exchange account I am not forced to enable a PIN for the device.
Does anybody have this working on their Motorola Droid 2.2 yet?
I know that a newer build (FRG022) will be pushed OTA soon but from what I have read that build does not address Exchange issues.
Also - The remote wipe feature wasn't what I expected. It appears to just break the connection between the client and the server. Nothing is wiped. Any messages already synced to the phone stay on the phone.
is there a way to enforce the soft keyboard throughout the lifetime of an Activity? I tried setting stateAlwaysVisible in the Manifest.xml as well as the counterpart.

I could display the box around the URL link, but if my URL link spans over more than one line, then my code shows the one rectangle on 1 line. But, in android-browser, in the same case, whole URL (still if it spans over multiple lines) gets surrounded by single large rectangle. I am not getting how this is achieved in android ?

I want to start Android Emulator with internet support but am unable to use the brower on the emulator, it seems like it is not connected. This is the command am using to start the emulator
emulator -avd myavd -http-proxy http://168.192.10.1:3100
Please note am using an IPAddress instead of machine name on my proxy server name. Is this possible with the emulator?
Or what am i doing wrong? Am using Android SDK 1.6
After upgrading to SDK 1.6 the emulator seems to be unable the Internet through a proxy (-http-proxy option). The same is working in SDK 1.5R3.
