Android :: Way To Add Links To An Email Message?
Mar 9, 2010I was wondering if it is possible to hook into the gmail and email applications and check to see if it contains text that matches a regular expression, and if it does, make that text into a link with a URI that would open my application. What i am thinking of is similar to how the gmail application can detect a web address or phone number and make it a link. Is something like this possible?

Sep 18, 2010I'm a subscriber to a show which I listen to on the PC while I work. I'd like to be able to listen to it on my new Droid X.There are three links on the site. The first one streams to windows media player. The second link streams to real audio. The third link downloads a podcast in mp3 format. So far I haven't figured out how to get any of them to work.The windows media link brings up a video player that says the file can not be displayed or played.The RA link downloads an .ra file. Selecting the file brings up the stock music player, which says it can't play the file. (I do have the RA beta installed but it doesn't appear to be associated with .ra files and I don't know how to fix that. Are there mime types in android?)The mp3 link gives the error "Cannot download. The content is not supported on this phone." Now that's just wrong. It's an MP3 file. The stock player should be able to play it.I'm not greedy -- I'd be happy if any one of these three possibilities worked.

Jan 17, 2010I recently switched from a Treo to the Moment. Generally quite pleased, but the Moxier email client doesn't seem to be displaying html links at all.
Exchange mail on the Treo still shows links, so unlike some of the other posts, the problem is not with the corporate exchange server stripping out html.
Is there a setting in Moxier to enable links within email messages?

However, two of the emails can be seen fully and one will not load at all. Cannot see emails in the account or send/receive anything. This is fairly frustrating. Jul 3, 2010I'm having a problem geting my POP email to work on my Galaxy S.What i am trying to do is set it up or i can recieve email on my Galaxy S while out, but also be able to retrieve and keep them on my PC.What i have at the moment is that i can receive them on my phone as long as i haven't opened them in Outlook, but if i have received them on my phone first, they don't show up in Outlook. So its one or the other but not both. I have set both the phone and Outlook to leave messages on the server.To further complicate this, once i have read them on the phone, they disappear from the inbox and seem to be lost forever.

Feb 25, 2010I work for comcast and we ose microsoft exchange but i believe we use 2003. thats what it says when i go to my owa website for remote email access. i use the owa for my berry to get the emails pushed and was wondering if android could push it. my remote access website is https://webmail.comcast.com and i don't know if it is possible. i have heard about an app called touchdown but i also don't know if it would work. i am thinking about getting the moment because i am on sprint because it has the faster processor than the hero. i may wait for the supersonic though. if you could please let me know if i can push my email that would be awesome or if it is possible from a different app or way to do it.

However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?

Jul 23, 2010Does your HTC email app work fine? I have my peak time set to poll every 5 min, but my email comes in random rather than within the programmed time frame. I was at my desk yestarday and emails were coming in to outlook, but I didn't get them on my phone for hours. I had to open the app to get them to come in. Any way to improve this? Can it be "reloaded"?

Jul 24, 2010This is my first andorid phone and as such i am a complete noob so please forgive my silly questions. My current issue is i am trying to use both gmail and my work email in one button(the email accounts stock app ALMOST does this but it will not allow me to use gmail labels which i must have!). Even if i could live without the labels functionality it seems the gmail app is not only my gmail email but myh contacts/calender sync and perhaps even my app ordering account? Does anyone have any ideas for combining my work email with my gmail app while not losing any gmail functionality as well as garenteeing i dont doubel download/sync with the current gmail stock app?
I also have the GPS issue that most people are haveing... are there really people who do NOT have this issue? or are those without the issue not checking? It would seem that if some people dont have this issue it must be a hardware issue? I am quite concerned with this issue... i ave tried the fixes and some work untill i reboot a couple times then i return to an unsable state(settings have not changed)

Feb 17, 2010I am working for an UN agency and we use Novell Groupwise for work email and their webmail site when we are on the move. I switched to Hero few weeks ago and since then I cannot use the webmail site with none of the browser that android have, I tried opera, dolphin, steel..all of them. no. My gf says its better this way, at least I wont check email on vacations, but Its bothering me.

Please verify your username and password."I have tried using the settings that google has on the website and the school doesn't have anything about setting up an email on a phone ( any phone).I tried changing the server to imap.grcc.edu and I had to confirm the certificate but then it gave the error again. I also tried taking the @email.grcc.edu from the username and that didn't work either. I am really frustrated right now. And no, I do not want to forward it to my other email.
