View 3 Replies View RelatedMy mother has an Asus Transformer, and she's had it for awhile, but she doesn't use it for much other than getting e-mails or video chats. I turned it on today and it suddenly downloaded a bunch of files. Mahjong.exe, Bubble_Hit_brch.exe, 7-superfoods-to-boost-your-immunity.pdf, etc. Small files, less than 1MB per file. There were about a dozen files in her downloads folder, a few of which had "-1" after it so it had downloaded some of them twice now.
I've Googled the filenames, Google "downloading files at random", "downloading unwanted files", etc., etc. I installed three different virus scanners and they found nothing. I believe her when she says she doesn't download anything or install anything.
I just bought a chinese tablet, is this one:[URL]
The problem is that some apps are not showing in the app drawer, like for example contacts, os google talk. They are installed, becaused they show in the list from Settings->apps. I can't access those apps and other by any way!! I tried different launchers, but it's the same.
All of the sudden a camera app I've never seen before or installed shows up in my android app list.
I don't know what it is. It might have happened after installing DoubleTwist Alarm Clock. I'm afraid to open it since I think it might be malware. It has a purple icon.
Screenie included
Just got a notification on my Galaxy 10.1 tab: "Sign-in error for [URL]... - Touch to sign into your account".
Is it possible that this is malware spoofing the system? Any way for me to find out? I've run Avira and it says the tab's clean, and I also checked the running services, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary.
I'm wary because a few days ago I got a notification that my tablet had a virus *eyeroll* and when I tapped it it went to a 'download antivirus here' page which of course I didn't click on...
Long time lurker, first time poster here. As a brand new andoid fan, I've learned a lot from everyone here and now I would love to get help for my problem. I have downloaded lots of apps, but now there seems to be a problem. When I click to download, nothing happens, and then an orange triangle appears with the words "download was unsuccessful, please try again." I have tried all of the suggestions out there, removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, turning Wifi off and back on, logging out of Google Talk (although I seem to be automatically logged back in w/out doing anything), using 2G, 3G and Wifi.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have android 1.6 on my xperia 10, every time i try to download apps whether from the market or not by scanning the QR code. I get the message " you don't have the permission to access this page". anyone can help me with this problem, it's really annoying .
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I either suck at the search function or a thread about this specifically does not exist (probably the former, sorry in advance if thats the case). I currently use Music Wizard to download Mp3's to my phone, and it works well but doesn't have much in the way of new releases and a lot of the results have strange characters in the titles (some chinese looking, others I have no idea).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought my first smart phone - samsung galaxy 19000. Love the phone, but have not been able to download a single app from the android market since I got it (about 4 days ago. ) I click install it says currently downloading, starting download - but gets no further. I have search the internet and seen that loads of oter people have had this problem (regardless of tehir handset) but no one seems to have a definative solution. There seemed to be some stuff about changing from a googlemail account to gmail as teh start of the problem. However, I have googlemail - so can't be that. Even tried getting a gmail to see if that would do it. Nope. some people suggested clearing teh cache in the market folder in settings - no joy. Removing battery.

View 6 Replies View RelatedFirst up apologies if you already know this, I only just fixed it and wanted to spread the solution. All day today I have been unable to download any Android apps from the marketplace, it's been very annoying. It turns out the problem is to do with Google's new offer for UK users to change their googlemail.com email account to a gmail.com account. Once I changed over my HTC Desire was suddenly unable to download apps from the Android Marketplace, it would forever say downloading and make no progress. The issue is with the Talk application on the handset, it needs to sign in on your google email address and that is what authenticates you to download from the marketplace. Now your email is a gmail.com address (rather than googlemail.com) the 'Talk' application cannot login and so you cannot download anything. There is no option to tweak the settings for the Talk application on the handset, you are stuck with the settings you already entered when you first set up the phone. So either you A) remove your googlemail.com account from your phone then re-add the gmail address. The problem is removing your googlemail.com requires a full phone reset, this involves losing EVERYTHING on your phone and starting from scratch.
View 6 Replies View RelatedLast night I tried to download some apps from the Android Market. It doesn't seem to want to let me have anything any more. It'll bring up the progress bar and says "Starting download..." below it, but never gets any further than that. I've tried clearing the cache already with no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering about GPS apps on the android phones. I was wondering if I were to get the 200 MB data plan for AT&T, would I be ok with Google Maps, and can I download them via wifi, and can I store them? And is the Tom-Tom app worth it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have the motorola droid with Verizon, and will be moving out of the country soonish. I have decided I want to buy an unlocked milestone because where I'm going they use GSM. My question is this: are my purchases in the android store somehow linked to my phone, or linked to my phone number, or linked to my google account? When I switch android phones, will I be able to download my purchased apps on the new phone?

View 11 Replies View RelatedWell im looking to get an android device soon, and after some searching around i came across this link:
Supported locations for distributing applications - Android Market Help
which doesnt list my country (cyprus). I basically cant download free or paid apps from the market
So is my only choice to download the .apk file from the net and put it on my SD card? Is there any other way? Also will the market app "recognize" which apps i have installed?
So you download an app from the marketplace now where does it go?I have Atlas File Manager but can't find a folder or spot where it sits so I can extract to the SD card.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan anybody help me? I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the Market App will not allow me to download new apps. It just says 'Download was unsuccessful,I have tried to Clear the Data in Download Manager, but it didn't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to download a long list of apps automatically onto an Android phone? I want to be able to do this without having to search for and download each app one by one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone a few days ago to remove all the useless apps that the phone comes with. I basically got ride of a code reader, some stupid games, and a bunch of "trial version" applications. I just noticed now that I can't download apps from the Android Market anymore, and this is probably what caused it. Everything else on my phone still works perfectly. When I try to download an app from the Android Market, I select the app to be downloaded, press "Install", then press "OK" when it gives me the list of what the app has access to. Once I press "OK" a popup appears that says "Your Item Will be Downloaded". That's it. Nothing appears in the notification bar, and the download doesn't go at all. So I guess my question is. what would I have deleted to cause this problem? I unrooted my phone again since. Maybe a google app or something? And if so, I need the APK for it! Yeah, yeah I was an idiot, I know. Don't mention it. Here's what I've tried so far after searching this issue: - Cleared the cache and updates for all Google-related apps
View 34 Replies View RelatedFirstly and most irritating is the fact i cannot download apps off the android marketplace on wifi or 3G. I click download but the progress bar just remains on 'starting download, and secondly i can't connect email accounts properly my hotmail connects and doesn't pick up my emails and i can't even connect my googlemail.com address.
