Jun 21, 2010How to remove the display of text messages on the unlock screen. When I receive a new message all I want is to see the icon up in the notification area and the green blinking light. I don't want the message displayed at all on my unlock screen. So does anyone know if there is a setting or a hack that can be done to do this?

May 13, 2010I have recently got my samsung galaxy android phone. Today i downloaded some applications like power saver, no lock, etc. suddenly it started blinking system process information at right top of the screen. I have uninstalled all downloaded applications but system information keeps on blinking. Sometime it is occupying entire right side portion and i am unable to see screen content. System process information like "3.56/5.67/3.84 system_server akmd2 android.process.core" is displaying in low size text. It seems as it is showing information for debug purposes.
I have stopped all services, all application, etc. forcefully even then it keeps on displaying. Can anyone help me how to disable showing such information ?

Apr 2, 2010I am just looking for opinions, which phone do you think has the better screen (display), the nexus one or the Droid? I guess 2 things to consider are
1. The Droid is 480 x 854 while the nexus one is only 480 x 800 and
2. The nexus one has an AMOLED display.
Now I am not the most tech savvy person so I am not 100% sure what these mean lol all I know is that from what ive heard, #1 goes to the Droid and #2 goes to the nexus. So idk, is it really just a matter of opinion? I own a nexus one and it has a great screen but from what I've seen from the Droid, the droids screen looked a tad better. However that could be due to my limited experience and if I had the Droid for a while, my opinion might change.
Motorola Droid 2 :: No Screen Display After Update / Way To Fix
Nov 8, 2010Yesterday my Droid 2 got automatically updated to 2.3.20.A955. It worked fine yesterday. I turned it off when I went to bed and now this morning after turning it on, it appears to be functioning except the only screen display I get is the white M (Motorola logo) that normally appears when starting up. I have tried to turn the phone off and on several times, although with no display it's hard to even know if it's happening. So far, nothing.
Edit to add: Well, I took the battery out and put it back in, now it's working. I should have tried it earlier but I didn't. I'll leave the thread up just so people know there is an issue.

HTC Droid Eris : Gap Between Screen Display - Housing Gotten Any Wider?
Mar 6, 2010The gap between the screen and housing, particularly at the bottom, seems to be pretty wide on my phone. i notice at night that light shines through that gap. Can't tell if the gap has gotten any wider. Just wondering if anyone else notices something similar. Seems like a great place for dust to enter the screen. Especially if light can come through there. Doesn't mean it's not sealed, but obviously it's not a super tight fit.

Feb 12, 2010Well, I've been noticing a few more problems with my eris as of late (if you want to know the others look at my post history)I've been unable to get past the lock screen to display sometimes. I just got off the phone with a friend, it was a long call as the phone/battery had heated up a bit. Now, everything with the phone seemed to be okay, I went and pulled up the HTC battery widget and was around 34C. I've seen it get this high before and had no problems. Now, I locked the phone and a few minutes later I tried to unlock it. The unlock screen would display but the touch screen wouldn't not receive any of my input. The Menu button did not work either. I could push the end button time and again and the display wound turn on and off, but no touch input ever worked. I just had to do a battery pull to get into my phone.
I've also been noticing inside TaskPanel that the amount of available memory steadily declines even if no programs are running. I have mostly sense programs ignored and I've included timerriffic and beautiful widgets as they are always running and need to be so they will function. (beautiful widgets I just purchased yesterday and I've had this problem for a week or two) If I do successfully get past the lock screen the phone will be extremely slow and TaskPanel will report something like 20 megs of available memory, with no applications running. If I restart the phone I'm usually fine. I think it is happening around the 13-14 hour mark of my phone being turned on.
I'm assuming something is hogging up my phone and I just can't tell what it is. I don't have very many 3rd party applications installed. They are closed immediately after I'm done with them except for beautiful widgets and timerriffic. I've had timerrific since the 2nd day I've owned my Eris and it's never been a problem (not to say an update didn't hose it)Anyone have similar problems? Anyone think of anything that could be causing this? [side note: I did notice a few weeks back my exchange calendar was freaking out and draining my battery, but deleting and resetting up my exchange email fixed that and it doesn't seem to be a problem now]

My Handsent would receive a sound as well (it is still set) and a flashing pink light appears on my phone. Now the green light does not come on. can I set it to and if so....how do I do it?

When i press the power button to lock my screen and put it to sleep when im done using my phone sometimes i get a constantly blinking blue led like im receiving an incoming call. This only happens when the phone is locked or on standby. A simple phone rest fixes this. I used a task killer and killed one app at a time thinking mabey one of my apps is causing this problem but even after killing all apps it still blinks. Any one else have or had this issue ? Any fix ideas. I have did a simple turn off the phone and it fixes it temporarily. I have also did a battery pull. Id hate to do a master reset.
