Android :: Customizing In Coming -Out Going Call Screen

I'm having a HTC Tatto which runs on 1.6 platform. i'm trying to build an application which will customize incoming/out going call screen. i want to display a full image (animated one or sort of) rather than the default picture or the picture of the contact person. and is it possible to hide the call details (like calling number, contact name) from the screen. i'hv heard that this is not possible in 1.0 platform. and have seen so many threads regarding this topic but no one is giving a proper answer on this.

When I ended a call and went back to the home screen. I wanted to text someone. But when I pushed the message icon the end call screen kept coming up and when I went on the internet and went back to home screen later on today it brought up google home page over and over instead of the message app. I am using the one that came with the phone. I am on 2.1

I am using these three lines to add a compass on the MapView: mMyLocationOverlay = new MyLocationOverlay (this,mapView);mMyLocationOverlay. enableCompass(); mapView.getOverlays() .add(mMyLocation Overlay) ; However the default position of the compass showing on the screen is not too good for my apps, and I want to move it to somewhere else. Anyone knows how I can achieve that?

I am running 1.5..When I get a 2nd incoming call my phone does a lond double beep and cuts out current call..I can't hear the 1st caller and they can't hear me...Has anyone had this problem and if so how can I fix it...Verizon of course has never heard this complaint..I did a full reset...Even with just stock apps it does this..They offered to send me a refurb one...

Anyone have a problem with the onscreen keypad not coming up when a call is in progress? My credit card company called me with an automated message to notify me about possible fraud on one of my credit cards. At one point to continue with the call, I had to press "1", but the onscreen keypad would not come up when I tapped on the keypad icon. I kept tapping but nothing happened, and ended up losing the call. The keypad icon has worked on other calls, just not this one.

I have been considering a new phone since my 3rd iPhone suffered it's demise and is no longer under warranty (1st Apple update bricked, 2nd stopped functioning, 3rd touch screen has gone wonky). So I have a choice to buy a new iPhone (or refurb) or go Android.
So far I have been impressed by the Android that my co-workers have. Seems very response, seems very snappy, seems pretty polished. I do have a couple questions: Is there a way to get a home screen of the droid to list out the next coming calendar items? I miss this feature from the BB and WiMo sets. Same with emails.

I am trying to change the 9 circle unlock widget screen. I added one more text view in UnlockScreen.java layout file keyguard_screen_unlock_portrait.xml. But after compiling the source (using make), I am able to see the set lock pattern on emulator. Lock pattern is working when i am using the sdk with emulator. its not working with source make.

Wildest and saddest thing ever just happened to my incredible. I'm in Virginia for a wedding where the air is around 100 degrees. I had been carrying my phone in my hand all day as I normally do and went into the air conditioned church, which was around 65. I went to take a picture with my phone and the screen shattered where I was holding it in the corner and spiderwebbed across the phone. The screen and touch still works, i just have a difficult time reading through the cracks. This is the saddest thing ever because I literally baby my phones and have never lost or broken a phone in the 12 years I've had a cell phone. I'm going to go into Verizon and see what can be done since I have insurance... im just scared of this insurance company since ive heard so many terrible things about it. It's also annoying because i had been planning on taking it in anyways because it will not read my microsd card and hasnt for the past two weeks. Just be careful of temperature changes. I know some people won't believe this story but i guess it was one of those fluke things that with my awesome luck had to happen. It's just so annoying that they put glass in a phone that can't even resist changes of fourty degrees. I'm definitely regretting not getting a phone with gorilla class. Has this happened to anyone else?

So sometimes when I come out of sleep (<<< EDIT: when the phone comes out of sleep :P) , screen goes well opens violet. Like darker and more contrast. (its not the brightness I have a blue desktop and it gets violet) In every screen even if I run an app. Didnt try some fullscreen game with landscape change and I will include pics. Maybe even try if shoot me catches something. But I doubt its software. Suspecting its setcpu(when sleep set 160/240) or the new launcherpro? nedamdam's Apps on the phone.

Recently my Desire has started doing something odd.I put it in standby mode (i.e locked screen,screen dark etc - by pressing the power button once) and around 50% of the time when I press the power button once again to wake it up,the four buttons at below the screen light up,but the screen takes up to 5-10 seconds to come on!Has anyone else ever had this sort of thing happen?It's really intermittent and slightly concerning.

i have go locker and it works fine until now whenever i lock my phone it locks but then the display keeps coming back on showing the lock screen. But if i uninstall it my reg works fine and i checked my settings over n over.

My screen keeps coming on while the phone is locked then it will go off and come back on like 2-5 sec later just an endless cycle. This is a factory 2.2 droid x with 2.2. Have launcher pro and some stuff on it did a virus scan with AVG said it was clean what gives here?

My phone took a tumble down the stairs and screen cracked in a lot of places, but still usable.Should i backup all my apps using astro ? Also, all my contacts are phone contacts, not gmail contacts, will HTC sync application help me backup my contacts and restore them? I haven't replaced an HTC phone yet so please forgive my innocence. I'm a converted BB user and now never going back to anything but Droid. Also, will i be receiving LCD screen instead AMOLED screen? Is that the rumor ?I do have insurance, i'm sure it will cost me more than 50 bucks to replace it. Prob 100$ right?

So i rooted with Droid Does rom, because i heard its nice and fast and what not. So basically the only problem i have with it is this.
When on a call, the proximity sensor doesnt work, so the screen goes black. And when i press the end call button to turn the screen back on it just ends the call. Is this normal? Or a known issue?

Oftentimes when I attempt to end a phone call the screen goes dark and I am not able to end a call. I have read other websites in which users have had similar issues. Will this issue be addressed and fixed soon in a firmware update?

On my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..

I have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker.Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.

I want to custmize an alert dialog. I can set the content using setContentView and other api's, but Android always gives a white border with rounded edges around the Alert dialog. Is it possible to remove this white border from the dialog box?

I was wondering if it is possible to customize the icon used for the More menu option (displayed when there are more than 6 menu options)? With the stock vanilla Android UI it appears as a disclosure-type arrow and on HTC Sense UI it's an ellipsis icon. Curious if these are fixed icons only defined in the Android resources or if there is a way to programmatically set them?

I've scoured the interwebs and found many posts regarding how to change the colors of a list view using a list selector.However it does not seem to work for me.So my question would be what am I doing wrong? When I use the below files I get a list where all item backgrounds are initially blue.(I expected white)When I move the focus up and down the text just changes to a dark grey and the item backgrounds are still blue. (This is when I would expect a single row to be blue with the rest white)When I click on a row the background of the row I clicked on turns black and all other rows turned green.(I expected to have the row I clicked turn green and the rest be white)

I'm using LauncherPro plus and cannot get back to the call screen to disconnect the call, the one in progress, if i leave that screen for any reason like to go to the home screen.If I switch over to HTC Sense I just hit the phone button from the home screen and it takes me back to the call in progress and I see a red 'end call' button.Is there a solution for this problem other than , just don't leave the call screen?
